Kim Kardashian says Kanye West helped her value privacy
In September – on the same night Kanye West went on a long, pro-Donald Trump rant while hosting "Saturday Night Live," his wife, Kim Kardashian West, opened up to Alec Baldwin on his new ABC talk show about how her life has changed since she and Kanye got serious. For Kim, the main difference seems to have been that 'Ye taught her to appreciate privacy, something she wasn't exactly brought up doing as a reality TV star. "We would get our hair and makeup done after we filmed the show. Then it was like '… what is the hottest restaurant in Hollywood? Where can I go? Where can I be seen? Who is there? What are they doing? Who is there?'" she recalled in the interview, which airs Sunday, Oct. 21, according to People. While Kanye "was very private" offstage, Kim said, "everything had to be public for me back then." That's no longer the case. "Now it's, 'Where can I go on vacation where nobody will see us?' All I want is privacy. I never thought that I would be at that point.," she admitted. In an interview with THR after the segment was filmed, Alec was asked if he'd delved into Kanye's politics, given Kim's support of Hillary Clinton and various liberal causes. "She said, 'I don't necessarily have to believe all my husband's opinions to support him. He's entitled to what he [believes and] he's very passionate.' And I'm like, 'Uh-huh,'" Alec recalled. "I think I opened by saying, 'Marriage is about a cooperation. So, how are you successful at getting him to cooperate where other people have failed? I mean, Lorne Michaels and late-night producers clearly don't have that ability.' And she laughed." Kim has reportedly found Kanye's recent, erratic behavior to be stressful. Sources tell People she simply doesn't take issue with his views in public.

Britney Spears could become the highest-paid entertainer in Las Vegas history
In October 1998, a 16-year-old Britney Spears released her first hit single, "… Baby, One More Time." Two decades later, the pop star celebrated the anniversary by announcing a new "Domination" residency in Las Vegas at the Park Theater, slated to kick off in February 2019. The announcement was included as part of GLAAD's Spirit Day, which encourages all who support LGBQT youth to show their solidarity by wearing purple and vowing to fight bullying. Celebitchy reports the singer's Piece of Me residency at Sin City's Planet Hollywood raked in more than $137 million over the course of four years. Insiders say the Park Theater series could snag something in the realm of $507,000 per show. That would launch Britney ahead of top Vegas music earners including Celine Dion, Elton John and Mariah Carey to make her what Celebitchy reports would be "the highest-paid entertainer in Vegas history." In less happy news for Brit, at least one member of her team is already edging in on some of that extra cash. Documents from The Blast show Andrew Wallet, Britney's co-conservator, has filed a request for a pay increase to $426,000 a year for his services. He claims to have increased the value of her estate by some $20 million and credits himself with keeping her away from drug on tour.

Did Rihanna turn down the Super Bowl Halftime Show because she supports Colin Kaepernick?
Rihanna can't support an organization that won't allow its players to peacefully protest police brutality against people of color. That's according to Us Weekly, which reported this week that RiRi turned down an offer to perform at the 2019 Super Bowl Halftime Show before rumors surfaced suggesting Maroon 5 will headline the bill. A source tells Us Rihanna declined the offer "because she supports Colin Kaepernick," who started a trend of "taking a knee" during the National Anthem at football games back in 2016. Since then, Donald Trump has called for players who don't stand during the song to be fired and the NFL has instituted a rule that allows the league to fine players or teams who visibly protest during the anthem. Although Rihanna's rep has not commented on the report, an insider confirmed the news to ET. "Rihanna was the front-runner for next year's super bowl halftime show," said the source. "CBS and the NFL reached out to Rihanna first, who after thinking about the offer, decided to pass due to the NFL and the situation regarding players kneeling." The Us source added that "the offer and exposure would have been great for Rihanna as she's planning a new album and tour but she stuck to what's right in her eyes. Another source, however, told ET that the NFL talked to both Rihanna and Pink about potentially performing but the singers "moved on" because the negotiations were taking too long. That source claims Colin's name never came up in the discussions. Shortly after the story surfaced, Amy Schumer posted a screenshot of the headline and urged Maroon 5 not to perform, either, in solidarity with players' right to protest.

At the amfAR gala on Thursday, Oct. 18, Variety asked Katy how she felt about Taylor's sudden willingness to speak out about politics. "She's setting a great example," Katy told the magazine. In addition to talking about the importance of voting with fans, Taylor recently threw her support behind Tennessee's Democratic candidate for Senate, Phil Bredesen, and Democrat Jim Cooper for the House. Katy was among the first of Taylor's followers to like her post, according to JustJared.
Kendall Jenner calls out TMZ for sharing the location of her house after stalker incident
When TMZ reported a stalker had been arrested (again) for trespassing at Kendall Jenner's house this week, the website included detailed information about the location of her home, including photos. The irony of making her house easier to find via a story about a stalker wasn't lost on Kendall, who slammed the website after the story ran on Thursday, Oct. 18, "I understand what I've signed up for," she tweeted"but when you release the exact location to where I live THAT is when you're putting my life in danger." She continued: "Your home is your safe haven, but for me, 'cuz of outlets like you, my home is anything BUT. You should be ashamed of yourself." In a second post, she asked, "And how do you guys think these terrifying people know where my house is? 'Cuz you release not only photos but my location. It is so beyond unsafe. Is this not our one ounce of privacy we can get?" Kendall moved last year following another incident involving a stalker who was caught trespassing on her property.

Bella Thorne's in-depth profile in the Los Angeles Times this week is full of interesting revelations about the former Disney star and current Instagram tastemaker, but the one we keep knocking around in our heads is this: Bella is mom to 19 cats. It seems she initially had one cat, Lola, whom she opted not to have neutered as she found the practice "barbaric." The main reason animal focused organizations urge pet owners to spay and neuter their cats, of course, is that millions of kitties are euthanized in shelters every day because there simply aren't resources to take care of them. Bella, however, says she looks after four generations of Lola's progeny, putting her feline friends out of harm's way. They also have some colorful digs to meow about in. The Times reports Bella's home — which she's said she purchased courtesy of her $65,000-a-post Instagram acumen — features a 12-foot tall, hand-painted statue of a unicorn, rainbow steps, "hundreds of felted roses" and handwritten notes Bella's made to inspire herself. There's also a section of her kitchen devoted to weed, which she tells the Times she used to be opposed to before she tried it — and which probably helps explain the unicorn, the stairs, the faux foliage and the cats.
Pamela Anderson is on crutches after 'DWTS' injury
Ouch! Pamela Anderson is recovering from a painful leg injury she suffered earlier this week on the French version of "Dancing With the Stars." In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Oct. 17, she told her followers, "We weren't doing anything crazy just dancing," then described the moment the injury happened. "It felt like someone threw a baseball very hard at my lower leg – I screamed and turned around and no one was there. Then realized it was my calf muscle that may have exploded?" she wrote. She went on to thank those who have been by her side helping her — and to label the mishap nothing more than "a challenge" in her path. "I'm sad, but hopeful that I can continue to dance," she wrote. "We are losing precious rehearsal time." As of Thursday, she was still on crutches, according to TMZ. She was also still hoping to perform on the show this weekend. The former "Baywatch" star has been living in France since she started — and subsequently ended — her relationship with soccer player Adil Rami.
Jonah Hill launches magazine devoted to self-love, dedicated to his 14-year-old self
Between the success of "Maniac," the completion of his directorial debut, "Mid90s," his upcoming Adidas project and the attention he's been getting lately for his major weight transformation, Jonah Hill's definitely having a moment. That might be why he's opening up about his own personal struggles in a way he's tended not to publicly in the past. The actor stopped by "Ellen" on Friday. Oct. 19, where he explained how working on "Mid90s" sparked his decision to put a free magazine together that's focused on self-love. Featuring what he described as "some of the most meaningful conversations" he's ever had, the publication, Inner Children, uses interviews with the likes of Jonah's therapist, as well as his acting peers, to get at issues related to personal growth and self acceptance. "I think everybody has a version of themselves… at some point in your life the person you're trying to kind of hide from the world," he told Ellen DeGeneres on the show, according to ET. "Even if you get success or you grow up or you become good looking or whatever, the things that you think will fix the thing, you kind of carry some part of that with you." He also shared the magazine's mission statement, which appears in the first few pages. Telling readers the publication is dedicated to his 14-year-old self — whom he remembers as "being overweight, wanting to fit in with these skaters and hip-hop kids, just feeling lonely and maybe not understanding my own worth" — Jonah shared his own coming of age story while reading from the blurb. "I became famous in my late teens and then spent most of my young adult life listening to people say that I was fat and gross and unattractive. And it's only in the last four years writing and directing my movie, Mid90s, that I've started to understand how much that hurt and got into my head," he said. "I really believe everyone has a snapshot of themselves from a time when they were young that they're ashamed of. For me, it's that 14-year-old overweight and unattractive kid who felt ugly to the world, who listened to hip-hop and who wanted so badly to be accepted by this community of skaters." Speaking to Ellen, he explained that Inner Children turned out to be "a companion piece to writing and directing 'Mid90s' because, to me, this movie is about learning to love yourself and finding a community of people that accepts you and how imperfect life is … It took a long time, honestly until right now, for me to come out as sort of the person, the artist, mind, what I represent, how I feel, how I'd like to be spoken to, how I speak to the world in a way that actually represents who I am as a person as opposed to me trying to be something else that I'm not."
Travis Barker cleared by doctors to perform again following blood clot issues
After a difficult year, health-wise, TMZ reports Travis Barker has been given the green light by doctors to resume playing drums. The Blink-182 musician had been suffering blood clots that made it dangerous for him to exert himself. At some point during his treatment earlier this year, he ended up getting a staph infection (he later sued the medical center where he believes dirty needles were used on him, leading to the infection) and developing a skin condition called cellulitis. Compounding matters, he was involved in an accident with a school bus in July. Although Travis is slated to return to the stage on Oct. 26 in Las Vegas, he and his band won't be joined by past member, Tom DeLonge, despite rumors of a reunion.
Chris Pine addresses 'double standards' around full frontal nudity onscreen
The buzz about Chris Pine's full frontal nudity in his upcoming film, "Outlaw King," left him a little confused. As he explains Graham Norton on the Friday, Oct. 19 edition of his show, he noticed there's been a different reaction to his full frontal nudity in the film than there has been to that of his female costar. "I bear the 'full monty' and it got a lot of attention. I thought the witty reviews were brilliant, but what did strike me most is that Florence Pugh bares everything too and no one commented," he says, according to ET. "I am not sure what that means," he adds. "Either people think they can't comment or everyone expects women to get naked. Either way, it's double standards."
