Megan Fox talks backlash over Machine Gun Kelly romance
Following her split from Brian Austin Green and new romance with rapper Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Fox has unfortunately found that old habits die hard, when it comes to public perceptions about women and romance. In a new interview with ET pegged to her upcoming, women-centric "survivor thriller," "Rogue," in which the 34-year-old plays a soldier, Megan explains that while it's been encouraging to see Hollywood changing its gender-biased ways, she's still being stereotyped in her personal life. Megan says she won't be sharing her #MeToo moments or "real story" anytime soon, "because honestly, some of my stories are horrific," and because she's not into throwing anyone into "cancel culture." Besides, she reasons, her current romance has drawn out enough negativity from people that she's "not really sure to what degree" she "would be supported," she says. "… Because I'm going through some stuff right now where perceptions are still very misogynistic and sexist and one-sided." The actress explained that trolls seem "very trigger happy" to call her "stupid," "vain" or even imply she's promiscuous. Calling the latter label "crazy," she points out, "I was in the same relationship for 15 years, you know? It's bizarre, this image that gets projected onto me that people have just accepted and that's lived for over a decade. And that I never really did anything to earn in the first place." Not that she's letting it get to her. Ultimately, she tells ET, "I would never fill my brain with anything trolls have to say."

Tuesday marked the 19th anniversary of singer Aaliyah's death, sparking a wave of posts in her honor on Twitter, where she was a top trending topic, according to People. Missy Elliott, who recorded with Aaliyah and appears on much of the late star's "One in a Million" album, was among those who remembered the artist, tweeting: "Your music has always been 10 STEPS AHEAD & Your sound is still FUTURISTIC. Your fashion always been ONE OF KIND. You rocked your outfits with SWAG & SAUCE! Just know that you are still inspiring generations til this day. We love you." Aaliyah's estate announced, also on Tuesday, that plans are in the works to finally get Aaliyah's music onto various streaming platforms. The singer died in a plane crash in 2001. She was just 22.

Guess who else has a hand in Britney Spears' conservatorship? Yep, turns out the singer's younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, was named the trustee of the "SJB Revocable Trust" in 2018. That would be the trust Britney set up in 2004 to "protect her fortune and provide for her children's financial future," according to JustJared. Britney is still the "sole beneficiary" of the trust as long as she's alive. According to a report from The Blast, a new court filing related to Britney's conservatorship shows Jamie is asking the court to green-light a move in which Fidelity Financial Management would set up "blocked accounts" to secure Britney's assets so that everything could be funneled into the trust that was established for Britney's children should she pass away.

Dorinda Medley is leaving 'RHONY'
After six seasons on "Real Housewives of New York City," Dorinda Medley is moving on. "What a journey this has been. I have laughed and cried and tried to Make it Nice…But all things must come to an end," the 55-year-old star wrote on Instagram on Tuesday. "This was a great outlet for me to heal when my late husband Richard passed away," she said of her time on the show. "I have met so many interesting people and learned so much about myself, about life and about women along the way." She went on to thank the networks and her castmates "for constant stimulation and entertainment," adding, "I wish you all health, happiness and success." In the comments, Andy Cohen wrote, "What a ride. Unforgettable." Bethenny Frankel chimed in with, "XOXO." And Lisa Rinna called Dorinda a "True Queen." Following Dorinda's announcement, the Daily Mail reported she was fired. Page Six is hearing something different. "[She] was not fired," an insider told the outlet. "It was a mutual decision that was discussed and then ultimately made by both Dorinda and Bravo." Her departure comes on the heels of news Tinsley Mortimer is also not planning to return.

This week, Dwayne, 48, and his business partner and ex-wife, Dany Garcia, announced they've invested in a handful of new programs on the Acorns app to incentivize families to begin putting money away for their children's futures as far in advance as possible. Dwayne and Dany's contribution is targeted at offering a $7 credit to each family that signs up for Acorns Early, which the app describes as "the easiest investment account for kids." "Especially this year, there are so many people feeling as I did when I was struggling with just $7 bucks in my pocket; anxious and uncertain about my life and future," The Rock tells People. "During this pivotal moment, there is a chance for us to empower our children to be financially educated and supported by us to grow and become the leaders we know they will be." He adds, "We have an opportunity to give every child an equal chance right from birth. To me, seven bucks represents a defining moment in my life, it represents possibility, hope and a new beginning." Carol Baskin responds to 'SNL' stars' impressions of her
Carol Baskin has some thoughts to relay to "Saturday Night Live" stars Kate McKinon and Chloe Fineman. For starters, Carol would like to "slap" Chloe for her impression of Carol on "SNL." "This whole, 'My kitty, meow, meow, kitty, meow, and then she would just say these really weird words all in a row …," Carol told Dennis Quaid and Jimmy Jellinek on a recent edition of their "Pet Show Podcast" (via EW). The "Tiger King" star explained that Chloe's impression, which Carol thinks was not on target, then "became popular … in popular culture" and now people expect her to speak that way. "And I'm like, 'I have no idea how to talk like that. That is not how I speak," Carol griped. As for Kate, who's set to star as Carol in an NBC limited-series? Carol just wants to make sure any big cats that may appear on the show are treated well. "[Kate] has not reached out to me and I really hope that she does before she gets too far down the line with it," Carol explained. "I'd love to know what her take is on it and what she's thinking to do and see if there was any way we could advise her." She said she hasn't been able to get in touch with Kate as of yet but she wants to make sure the new series doesn't involve "what Cardi B did … hiring people that are exploiting and abusing cats." (She was referring to the cats that appear in Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion's "WAP" video; there has been no evidence those animals abused.) "It's like the worst thing you can do is abuse cats to show other people that you shouldn't abuse cats," Carol added.
Ellen Pompeo 'had something to prove' when Patrick Dempsey left 'Grey's Anatomy
Having played Dr. Meredith Grey on "Grey's Anatomy" since 2005, Ellen Pompeo has navigated more than a few changes in her industry when it comes to gender bias, pay gaps and power imbalances. And she's come out on top, as both one of the highest-paid women on television and as a producer and occasional director on the massively popular series. Ellen recently sat down with Dax Shepard on his "Armchair Expert" podcast, where she reflected on overcoming what she was initially made to believe about her value on the show to become a TV power player — and one who's improved her show's work environment, too. As she's said publicly before, things had to change for Ellen on "Grey's" when Patrick Dempsey, aka her love interest Dr. Derek Shepherd, exited. Before that, Ellen said, the "Grey's" top brass regularly leaned on Patrick's popularity to suggest her character was not essential to show that bears her name — especially when she was trying to renegotiate her salary. "When Patrick left, I had something to prove," Ellen explained. "Because now we circle back to that negotiation conversation. He left season 11 and then I was renegotiating season 12, so I could've left because the man left, which is not a story that I want to tell … So that story then becomes, what can I do without the man?" She explained: "Because they had put that in my head for so long, that I was no good without him. So then I had to then rewrite the ending of that story and say, 'Well, who's right? Are they right or am I right? Am I actually good without him?' So I had to take over that script and rewrite that story and prove to myself that they were wrong …" She did just that, negotiating a much higher pay rate and a producer role. When she saw she had the power to change those elements, she realized there was more work to be done. "I wanted to see if we could turn the culture around and we could make the set a happy place, because it really had never been," Ellen recalled. Now that she's achieved those goals, will she stay on "Grey's" as long as there's interest? "No way," said Ellen. "The truth is, if I get too aggravated and I'm no longer grateful there, I should not be there."
Chrissy Metz corrects Hal Rosenfeld split rumors
Woops. The rumor mill has apparently been super off-base regarding Chrissy Metz and Hal Rosenfeld's romance. Last week, Page Six reported the "This Is Us" star was single again, having split from composer Hal Rosenfeld. Welp, Chrissy hopped on her Instagram Story this week to correct the timeline. In a screenshot of her post, published by ET, Chrissy shares a snap of an article claiming she "and her boyfriend … have sadly called it quits." The next sentence claims the two started dating in late 2018. "For the record, we actually broke up almost two years ago… can't believe everything you read," Chrissy wrote over the rest of the shot, adding the hashtag, "#LateToTheParty."
Amelia Gray Hamlin opens up about her eating disorder recovery and defends her mom, Lisa Rinna
Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin's daughter, Amelia Gray Hamlin, defended her mom recently during an appearance on "The Skinny Confidential" podcast, where she opened up about her battle with anorexia. Both Lisa's costar, Garcelle Beauvais, and "Real Housewives" fans have implied Lisa contributed to her daughter's eating disorder. But Amelia, 19, points out that's neither true nor fair. Instead, she shared how her family finally got intervened to get her help. "I woke up one morning at my best friend's house. My parents, my sister, they're all outside, like waiting to pick me up. And I'm like, 'What are you doing here?' Like it's Saturday morning. And they're like, 'Get in the car. We're going to UCLA [to get treatment],'" she recalled, according to Us Weekly. "And I was like, 'Oh my God.' And in that moment, I was like, 'I'm going to rebel, like, they're crazy.'" She went with them, though, and it's a good thing she did. "We show up, it's like this really scary old man's office. … ," Amelia continued. "He looked at me and he was like, so yeah, basically at this rate in about four months, you're going to be 45 pounds and you're going to be dead." She said that at that point she "just snapped out of it," realizing 45 pounds was never her objective — nor was death. "I'm not going to be, you know, this type of person, I'm not going to ruin my life because of whatever issues I'm having," she recalled thinking. Asked about Garcelle's comments linking the eating disorder to Lisa's Instagram videos, Amelia said the blame her mother gets "really breaks my heart," particularly when it's tied to talk about her mother's small frame. It's "body-shaming" in both cases, she noted, even if that's now how it's perceived. Amelia added that she's "never met" Garcelle either, making it that much worse that she blamed the eating disorder on Lisa. "My mom already has to deal with so much blame and guilt," Amelia concluded.
