Nicolas Cage hits the red carpet with a puzzling new look

Is that you, Nic? Fans and reporters were more than a little confused on Monday, Sept. 16, when Nicolas Cage showed up at the premiere for his new film, "Running With the Devil," looking … a little different. Sporting a wiry, unkempt beard, a hat that Fox News helpfully described as "'Indiana Jones'-esque," a Doors shirt and a fur-trimmed denim jacket, the actor was almost unrecognizable. The new look doesn't seem to be related to the film, in which he appears to have a clean-shaven face. He wears a full beard in another upcoming film, "Kill Chain," according to photos on imdb. But it's a decidedly more coiffed facial hair situation than what he showed off on the red carpet this week. Maybe he's getting a jump on the "Movember" facial hair bonanza … or perhaps he took a post-divorce breather in his pyramid tomb and simply hasn't had time to round up a razor or comb since exiting the New Orleans graveyard.

New filing in Britney Spears' conservatorship drama demand payment for Jamie Spears' replacement

Britney Spears' father Jamie Spears was earning $100,000 a year plus a reimbursement for his home office to manage her conservatorship. Now that he's stepped down, his replacement has asked the court to ensure she'll be compensated similarly for her services. According to new legal docs excerpted by The Blast, Jodi Montgomery alerted the court that she took over as conservator on Sept. 9 and is now actively handling her responsibilities in that role. "Ms. Montgomery's understanding that a similar order is currently in effect for the Conservator of the Estate and his attorneys," her lawyers say in the papers. The filing goes on to ask for an approval of the "payment of [legal] fees" incurred by Jodi's attorneys related to Britney. Jamie exited his position because of his failing health, but he is currently being kept out of contact with Britney's kids after their dad Kevin Federline accused Jamie of abuse.

"Doing beauty has really helped with that – it's been very liberating. I want to spread the word that everybody should feel like the best version of themselves. To look after what you have. Susan Sarandon's about to have one more little boy in the family! Her daughter Eva Amurri announced this week that she and her husband Kyle Martino are expecting a son. They shared the exciting news in on her website, Happily Eva After, and in a video on her Happily Eva After Family YouTube page on Monday, Sept. 16, according to the Daily Mail. The video showed Eva, Kyle and their daughter, Marlowe, 5, and son, Major, 3, excitedly awaiting the gender reveal alongside pink and blue balloons. After Kyle held up a black balloon imprinted with the words, "Baby is a …," before Eva popped it, releasing blue confetti hearts, and announced, "It's a boy!" Calling the new addition their "family tie-breaker," she said on her website that "every single one of us thought it was a boy" because of how sick she'd been when she was pregnant with Major — and how it was "even worse this time around," unlike when she was expecting her daughter. "I just assumed that the same hormones were at play, and so a boy was inevitable," she said. Eva asked her doctor to tell a friend the gender so her family could find out "the gender instantly, at the same time." She added that she was "secretly hoping" for a boy so her "girls trips" with Marlowe "could remain just the two of us."

Amid a new wave of headlines about Harvey Weinstein pegged to New York Times reporters Jodi Kantor and Meghan Twohey's book, "She Said," a lawyer for the former producer defended her client on the Tuesday, Sept. 17, edition of "CBS This Morning." "I'm not here to say he was not guilty of committing sins. I don't think he's a rapist." said Donna Rotunno, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Weinstein is due in court in January to begin a trial over allegations he raped a woman in 2013 and sexually assaulted a woman in 2006. Like the other sexual misconduct allegations made against him, he continues to maintain there was no nonconsensual sex. "I think in many ways there are good things about #MeToo," said Rotunno, speaking to the fact that it the allegations against her client largely sparked the movement. She said that to her, the problem with #MeToo is that it "allows the court of public opinion to take over the narrative," which leaves those accused "stripped of [their] rights." Adding that "it's really about making sure those issues don't cloud our ability to pick a fair jury," she said Weinstein's life has already been destroyed, so he'll "pay the biggest price there is" regardless of the trial's outcome.

Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney are expected to host a wedding ceremony next month. They may already be married, though. Page Six reports the couple, who got engaged in February, stopped by the marriage bureau in New York City on Monday, Sept. 16. They reportedly had two security guards, a friend and celebrity fashion photographer Mark Seliger with them, fueling the marriage speculation. The couple reportedly left the building carrying a piece of paper; one photo published by the Post appeared to show Cooke covering his left ring finger.

Andie MacDowell talks ageism, sexism in Hollywood

At 61, Andie McDowell is glad to have access to fun roles like the matriarch she plays in the new, critically acclaimed horror flick, "Ready Or Not." But she still struggles with Hollywood's sexism and ageism, both of which she tells the Guardian have left her a little desperate for interesting roles in recent years. "You've heard every woman say it, because it's the truth. We're a very youth-oriented culture. In most movies, the leads are in their 30s and a great leading role for a mature woman is hard to come by," she says. Andie goes on to say she's "been struggling" since she turned 40. "Everyone said everything was going to change at 40 –- and it was true," she explains, adding that she didn't bother watching some of the bad movies she's made since then. Asked how she deals with it, she says she's tried to "be positive," if in part because she hasn't wanted to be branded "a whiner" by the men who still ultimately seem to control the studios. After giving an example of a male actor she recently heard say,"People go to movies to see men, not women," she acknowledges that common thinking "… hurts, not just for me, but for every woman, that this is our position still." At the same time, the Time's Up movement has given her some optimism. "The younger generation are not like my generation. We were well trained to be 'less than,'" says Andie, who has two adult daughters. "We had a certain acceptance of our position that the younger generation is not going to tolerate; the wherewithal to teach them they deserve better and they're not gonna settle for less. I know my kids won't."

'Doctor Who' alum Christopher Eccleston reveals long struggle with anorexia

In a new memoir, "I Love the Bones of You," former "Doctor Who" star Christopher Eccleston reveals he struggled with anorexia and depression while playing the main character on the show in 2005. "Many times I've wanted to reveal that I'm a lifelong anorexic and dysmorphic. I never have," he shares in an excerpt published by the Mail over the weekend (via Page Six). "I always thought of it as a filthy secret, because I'm Northern, because I'm male and because I'm working-class," he continues. "The illness is still there raging within me as the Doctor. People love the way I look in that series, but I was very ill. The reward for that illness was the part. And therein lies the perpetuation of the whole sorry situation." He goes on to reveal it wasn't until a decade later, having been diagnosed with clinical depression, that he finally checked himself into a treatment center and asked for help. "I was in a state of extreme anxiety, convinced I was either going to die or I was going to kill myself," he writes. "In my despair, I reached for my phone and looked up a psychiatric hospital, I rang ahead, grabbed my bag and ran. I was 100 percent sure I was in the last few weeks of my life." Today, he says he continues to take anti-depressants. And while he says he'd like to someday "reduce the dose," he notes that since he started taking them, he's "received some of the best reviews of my life."
