It's over for Wendy Williams and her husband of 22 years, Kevin Hunter. On April 11, the talk show host filed for divorce in the wake of widespread reports that he'd cheated on her and fathered a baby with his alleged mistress. Kevin is now out as an executive producer on "The Wendy Williams Show." Wendy, who moved out of a sober house in April, told her audience on April 15, "Addressing my sobriety, my addiction, head-on, has really helped me sort out every single compartment of my life."

Law life
Kim Kardashian West wants to become a lawyer, and she's nearly a year through a four-year apprenticeship with a San Francisco law firm. She plans to take the bar exam in 2022. Kim's desire to become a lawyer hasn't come without some sacrifices in her personal life. In an Instagram post on April 15, Kim said she had to "disconnect" with many people in her orbit. "For anyone assuming this is the easy way out, it's not. My weekends are spent away from my kids while I read and study. I work all day, put my kids to bed and spend my nights studying," she wrote. "There are times I feel overwhelmed and when I feel like I can't do it but I get the pep talks I need from the people around me supporting me. I changed my number last year and disconnected from everyone because I have made this strict commitment to follow a dream of mine – It's never too late to follow your dreams." Kim, by the way, aced one of her initial tests and already has a standing job offer with famed attorney Robert Shapiro.
Guilty plea
Felicity Huffman is pleading guilty next month for her role in a college admissions cheating scam. "I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions," she said in a statement on April 8. "I am ashamed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, my friends, my colleagues and the educational community." Felicity said her daughter, Sofia, didn't know that the actress paid $15,000 to correct Sofia's SAT answers and buy her more time to take the college entrance exam. According to reports, prosecutors want her to go to jail for a minimum of four months.

Splitsville
Michelle Williams has split from her husband of less than a year, musician Phil Elverum. "Michelle and Phil separated at the beginning of the year. It was an amicable split and they remain friends," a source told People magazine on April 19. The actress and the indie rocker secretly married last summer in the Adirondacks. News of their breakup came after Michelle was seen without her wedding ring.
Mental health treatment
Britney Spears was voluntarily admitted to a mental health facility for 30 days after becoming emotionally distraught over her father's illness, it was reported in April. On April 23, Britney posted a video on Instagram updating her fans. "All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal. But don't worry, I'll be back very soon," she said. The pop star's comments came after her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, said she's been doing "amazing." On April 25, Britney was released from treatment and headed home to reunite with her sons.
Divorce
Adele is no longer sending her love to husband Simon Konecki — the couple have split. Adele and Simon have been together for seven years. They share 6-year-old son Angelo. "Adele and her partner have separated," the singer's rep said on April 19. "They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment." According to reports, the couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement. A source told People magazine not to expect fireworks when it comes to the split. "I just can't see her divorce getting messy because she's so careful when it comes to her son," the source said. "She's always five steps ahead in terms of how a decision will affect him."
Final show
The Kathie Lee Gifford era is over at "Today." The beloved TV veteran signed off from the morning show after an 11-year run on April 5. Kathie Lee's goodbye included touching messages from her children, Cody and Cassidy, and appearances from Dean Cain and Barry Manilow. In her final words, she referenced a Bible verse. "Jeremiah 29 says, 'I know the plans I have [for] you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.' That's not just true for me, you guys, that's true for everybody watching," she said. "Trust Him. Let Him love you like He wants to love you. Like I am loved by all of you."
Married in Morocco
British actor-DJ Idris Elba married vera Wang-clad Sabrina Dhowre, a former beauty queen, at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh, Morocco, on April 26. British Vogue broke the news and shared photos from the nuptials on Instagram.
Not guilty plea
They're rolling the dice! On April 15, Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, pleaded not guilty to two conspiracy charges in a college admissions cheating scandal. Prosecutors allege the actress and the designer paid $500,000 to get their two daughters accepted into the University of Southern California, falsely designating them as crew recruits. Lori and her husband were offered plea deals, but when they declined, a charge of conspiracy to commit money laundering was added. "[Lori and her husband] claim they were under the impression they might be breaking rules, but not laws," a source told "Entertainment Tonight." "They feel they were manipulated by those involved and are planning that as part of their defense…They realize how serious the charges are, but feel that once the judge hears their story he will see they had no bad intentions." Lori is reportedly "panicking" over the prospect of jail.
Money matters
Pay up! Although Nicolas Cage was only married to makeup artist Erika Koike for four days in March — he's seeking an annulment — she thinks he owes her spousal support. Erika's request for support came in her response to the annulment, in which she claims Nic has damaged her reputation and caused her to lose out on career opportunities. Nic claims the marriage was based on fraud, which she says isn't true. She even alleges that Nic wanted to rekindle things with her two weeks after filing for the annulment.
Sued
Jussie Smollett owes the the city of Chicago six figures for the cost of its police work related to his alleged attack, according to the city government. Mayor Rahm Emanuel's administration filed a lawsuit against the actor on April 11, claiming he owes $130,106 for police overtime hours expended in the investigation into his allegations (cops say he staged and lied about his February attack). After Cook County prosecutors dismissed all 16 charges against the "Empire" star in March, many of the city's top brass openly expressed anger. The lawsuit claims Jussie intentionally misled officers about what happened. In addition to the $130K, the city also wants hundreds of thousands of dollars to cover attorney fees and additional expenses. In late April, Jussie's brother said the actor was experiencing "night terrors" over the incident.
Guilty
Former "Smallville" star Allison Mack pleaded guilty on April 8 to charges pertaining to her involvement in an alleged sex cult that was part of the self-help group NXIVM. Prosecutors said the actress helped lead a scheme to turn women into sex slaves for NXIVM leader Keith Raniere. She'll be sentenced in September on two racketeering charges. "I believed Keith Raniere's intentions were to help people, and I was wrong," she said in court. "I know I can and will be a better person." Allison faces up to 20 years in prison for each charge, though it's likely she'll get far less. She's expected to testify against Raniere at his upcoming trial.
Taylor Swift breaks record with new music video
On April 26, Taylor Swift released a new single called "ME!" as well as a video for the track featuring Panic! at the Disco frontman Brendon Urie. And 24 hours later, she'd set a new YouTube record. Forbes confirmed that the pop star — who made headlines the same day after announcing that she'd adopted a third cat she named Benjamin Button — beat the previous record holder, Ariana Grande's "thank u, next," to score the most plays in a new upload's first 24 hours with 65.2 million views (Ari had 55.4 million).
Outta there
Sara Gilbert is leaving "The Talk," a show she co-created, after nine seasons. "This is something I have been struggling with for a while and going back and forth. But I've decided it's time for me to leave the show," she said on April 9. "I obviously love it here and this was extremely difficult." Sara said she's leaving because her "life was slightly out of balance" between the show, starring on and executive producing "The Conners" and raising her three kids. A tearful Sara added, "It's difficult because this is a place that I love and a place that I am extremely happy. I love the hosts, I love the crew, I love our staff. I am so grateful to the audience for letting me into your homes every day. It's been such an honor." Less than two weeks later, it was announced that Sara is joining Season 3 of Netflix's "Atypical."
Remembrance
Thousands of people gathered at the Staples Center in Los Angeles to honor slain rapper Nipsey Hussle on April 11. Fans lined the streets and a throng of celebrities attended including Beyonce, JAY-Z, G-Eazy, Cassie, Big Sean, Big Boy, Meek Mill and NBA stars James Harden, DeMar DeRozan and Russell Westbrook. A silver hearse brought Nipsey's body to the memorial, where fans witnessed a video tribute by Snoop Dogg, a performance by Stevie Wonder and a moving speech by his longtime love, actress Lauren London. Former President Barack Obama even sent in a letter honoring the rapper. After the ceremony, a funeral procession carrying Nipsey's casket went on a 25-mile ride through Los Angeles.
Baby surprise
Surprise! Hoda Kotb is a mother of two. On April 16, the "Today" show anchor revealed that she's adopted another daughter, Hope Catherine. "It's a girl," she said in a phone interview with her "Today" co-hosts. "I'm feeding her and I can't believe it. I'm so happy she's here!" Hoda is also a mother to 2-year-old Haley Joy. "She was literally marching around saying, 'I'm a big sister!'" Hoda shared. "It's amazing. I can't believe it's happening."
Heartbreaking loss
Alec Baldwin's wife, Hilaria, opened up on April 4 about miscarrying a child in real time. While posting a selfie with just the tiniest baby bump, Hilaria said, "I want to share with you that I am most likely experiencing a miscarriage. I always promised myself that if I were to get pregnant again, I would share the news with you guys pretty early, even if that means suffering a public loss." Alec's wife said she opened up about her health situation because it was "important to show the truth." She added, "I want to be a part of the effort to normalize miscarriage and remove the stigma from it. There is so much secrecy during the first trimester. This works for some, but I personally find it to be exhausting. I'm nauseous, tired, my body is changing. And I have to pretend that everything is just fine — and it truly isn't. I don't want to have to pretend anymore. I hope you understand." A week after her emotional post, Hilaria confirmed that she'd miscarried.
