Rachael Ray shares an update on her house's rebuilding progress after fire
Rachael Ray and her husband, John Cusimano, probably have another six months before their New York state home will be rebuilt, following the fire that ravaged it over the summer, she told her audience on the latest edition of her cooking show. Despite the pain of watching the charred debris of her belongings taken away — and "witnessing the crises that have gripped our country," as she puts it in her editor's letter for the new issue of "Rachael Ray In Season" — the celebrity chef is finding reasons for hope and gratitude. "This year has been strange for us all. But 2020 has also made me more mindful than ever of just how lucky I am," she tells her magazine readers . "I'm grateful to the first responders who saved my life. I'm grateful for the opportunity to rebuild. I'm grateful I had a place to stay when my world caught fire, where I could take sanctuary, and that I learned, in a way I hadn't really understood before, the difference between a house and a home," she explains. "We can all fall into a place where we take for granted things we should be grateful for. When you lose them, you understand their value in a more complete and meaningful way. In an odd way, it enriches you." As for her home, Rachael told viewers that what was initially "a giant rectangular hole in the ground that looked like the abyss," where her house once stood, is now at the "outdoor framing" stage of the rebuild, "so it looks like there's a footprint of a house again which is great." She said she and John expect it will be "next May" before the house is in a more finished state.

On the Thursday edition of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," Khloe Kardashian and her on-again beau Tristan Thompson share multiple moments of casual banter about Tristan's history of being unfaithful. At one point, during a FaceTime call between the two while Khloe's self-isolating following a positive test for COVID-19, she introduces Tristan to a pillow she's decorated and named "Quarantina." "This is Tina," she says (via Page Six). "I know how much you like other women, so … Ba-dam-bum!" Tristan, who was spotted making out with another woman shortly before Khloe gave birth to their daughter True before his infidelity with Jordyn Woods ended his relationship with Khloe (for a while), replies with a good-natured, "Oh, wow." The two joke about it again when Tristan asks Khloe to put her glasses on. "Aw, you look like the smart girl I'm going to cheat off on the test," he says. Khloe's response? "Thank God you said, 'On a test.'"

Next month will mark one year since Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's divorce was finalized — an official end to a relationship that spanned most of the singer's adult life. As she shared during an appearance this week on the Scandanavian talk show "Sklavan," the split was one of multiple devastating challenges she's endured recently, but she's discovered a "tool" that's helped her manage the fallout. "I've gone through a lot of kind of trauma and loss in the last couple years. I had a house fire in Malibu, where I lost my house and went through a divorce recently, my grandma who I was super close with, I lost," Miley explained (via E! News). "In a way, I didn't spend too much time crying over it, and it wasn't because I was cold or trying to avoid feeling something, but it was just because it wasn't going to change it. I tried to just continue to be active in what I can control, otherwise you just start feeling like you're trapped." While that may sound like a smart and level-headed approach, Miley admitted not all her exes — she recently split from Cody Simpson — seem to understand that her feelings are prone to changing "drastically." She even suggested some of those former loves believe she's increasingly out of touch with her emotions. "I would say that there's a stigma of coldness for a woman who actually, really moves on," she mused. Despite that, she knows she can and will move forward, perhaps with more space in her heart for other important experiences and relationships. "I heal through traveling and meeting new people," Miley said. "As you lose one person, another person comes into your life."

Why Nicki Minaj won't get a nanny
Nicki Minaj's fans are going to have to get used to a world without new music from the rapper — for now, at least. While chatting with fans on Twitter on Friday, the new mom, who recently married her boyfriend Kenneth Petty, was encouraged by one fan to get a nanny for help with her son. "Everyone tells me that. Lol. I rlly should get one. Difficult decision tho," she explained. By way of an explanation as to why she won't get help with the baby, she offered this: "Last night I tried to tweet while I was feeding him. He looked @ me & said 'absolutely … NOT," joking, "he wants his undivided attention chile." Nicki and Kenneth welcomed their new addition in September.
Anne Hathaway apologizes to people with disabilities for 'The Witches' controversy
Anne Hathaway is following Warner Bros.' lead in apologizing to people with disabilities after her new film, "The Witches" sparked backlash. In the movie, Anne's character has three fingers on each hand, giving her an appearance that's similar to a condition called Ectrodactyly. Anne issued a formal apology on Instagram this week. "I have recently learned that many people with limb differences, especially children, are in pain because of the portrayal of the Grand High Witch in 'The Witches,'" she wrote. "Let me begin by saying I do my best to be sensitive to the feelings and experiences of others not out of some scrambling PC fear, but because not hurting others seems like a basic level of decency we should all be striving for," Anne continued. "As someone who really believes in inclusivity and really, really detests cruelty, I owe you all an apology for the pain caused. I am sorry. I did not connect limb difference with the GHW when the look of the character was brought to me; if I had, I assure you this never would have happened." She paired the statement with a video from Lucky Fin Project, a nonprofit that "exists to raise awareness and celebrate children and individuals born with symbrachydactyly or other limb differences." In closing, Anne added: "I particularly want to say I'm sorry to kids with limb differences: now that I know better I promise I'll do better. And I owe a special apology to everyone who loves you as fiercely as I love my own kids: I'm sorry I let your family down." She then encouraged followers to learn more about Lucky Fin Project and the hashtag "#NotAWitch" "to get a more inclusive and necessary perspective on limb difference."

Just days after Kendall Jenner faced backlash over the lack of masks and social distancing at her packed birthday party celebration last weekend, footage from Diddy's over-the-top 51st birthday throwdown in Turks and Caicos surfaced on social media. Much like Kendall's party, Diddy's celeb-stuffed event featured a crowd of maskless guests getting super close to one another, seemingly disregarding CDC recommendations for limiting the spread of COVID-19, which hit another new daily record for positive cases in the U.S. on Friday. Guests at Diddy's party included Nas, Mary J. Blige, French Montana, Draya Michele and more stars, according to Hollywood Life. Critics were quick to speak their minds in the comments. "It's almost as if millions of people aren't dying across the world because of a pandemic," wrote one user, who called Diddy an "idiot." Others took issue with the fact the music mogul broadcast his luxury and wealth at a time when so many people around the globe are sick, grieving or out of work. "I think it's so selfish," wrote another commenter. "Yeah okay, do it, but keep it quiet and stop flaunting it about on the internet for the world to see." Last month, Kim Kardashian West was criticized for sharing photos from her extravagant birthday party on a private island, where guests did not appear to wear masks or social distance. Stephen Colbert reacts to Donald Trump's White House address after networks cut away from the president
Dressed, he said, "for a funeral," a somber Stephen Colbert appeared Thursday on "The Late Show" after all three major networks cut away from the White House address in which Donald Trump claimed, without offering any evidence, that the presidential election was being stolen from him via "illegal votes" and other forms of rigging. (As is always the case with elections, votes continue to be counted after Election Day; the count is taking longer in 2020 because of the high number of mail-in ballots due to the coronavirus pandemic.) Like the network anchors who took over for Trump's speech, Colbert swiftly condemned the president for lying to the American people about the validity of their votes and the electoral process. "Donald Trump tried really hard to kill something tonight," Colbert said at one point (via The Guardian). The late-night host later ran a clip from Oct. 20, 2016, in which the president, who also tweeted an unsubstantiated claim of victory on Election Night, says, "I will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential election – if I win." "So we all knew he would do this," said Colbert. "What I didn't know is that it would hurt so much. I didn't expect this to break my heart. For him to cast a dark shadow on our most sacred right, from the briefing room in the White House – our house, not his – that is devastating." Colbert then urged Republicans, congressional and otherwise, to call foul on Trump's behavior. "Republicans have to speak up. All of them. Because for evil to succeed, all that is necessary is for good men to do nothing," Colbert said. "So say something right now, Republicans," he added. Finally, he branded the president "a fascist," telling the GOP, "… when it comes to democracy vs. fascism, I'm sorry, there are not fine people on both sides. So you need to choose: Donald Trump or the American people."
Al Roker reveals prostate cancer diagnosis
On Friday, Nov. 6, beloved "Today" weather anchor Al Roker announced he's been diagnosed with prostate cancer and is due to have surgery to remove his prostate next week. "It's a good news-bad news kind of thing," he said on "Today." "Good news is we caught it early. Not-great news is that it's a little aggressive, so I'm going to be taking some time off to take care of this." He said that after that, he'll "wait and see, and hopefully in about two weeks I'll be back [on 'Today']." According to Today.com, Al, 66, went public with news in order to highlight "the fact that 1 in 7 African American men, 1 in 9 men overall, will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime." Why Lori Loughlin could be released from prison in time for Christmas
Lori Loughlin surrendered herself to begin her federal prison sentence on Oct. 30, three weeks ahead of her scheduled Nov. 19 start date. And while she reportedly agreed not to request an early release, she might make it out in time to spend Christmas Day with her family. The former "Fuller House" star and her husband Mossimo Giannulli are serving fraud sentences after taking a plea deal amid allegations they paid college admissions scandal mastermind Rick Singer $500,000 to get their daughters into school as fake rowing recruits. Lori's release date is set for Sunday, Dec. 27, according to ET. But the Bureau of Prisons allows correction officers to release an inmate on the last preceding weekday before a holiday if they were otherwise due to get out on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday. At the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California, where Lori's serving her time, visitors are not currently allowed because of COVID-19-related safety concerns, including family. "Lori's been communicating daily with her family and is trying her best to get acclimated to her new surroundings but she's ready to go home," a source tells the outlet. "This is a huge challenge. She is trying to stay strong but she's also been very frightened of contracting COVID. This was a huge stress for Lori even before she was locked up and now her fear is even worse."
Rapper DaBaby urges struggling fans to 'get help' after the death of his brother
After his brother, Glen Johnson, apparently took his own life, rapper DaBaby shared a message for anyone struggling with mental health issues on Thursday night — don't go it alone. Tweeting the hashtag, "#MentalHealthAwareness," the 28-year-old rising star artist wrote, "If you can't get over depression GET HELP, you see a loved one struggling get them help, they refuse the help, MAKE em get treated anyway." He added a plea to take PTSD seriously, as well, telling followers he now plans to start seeing a therapist himself. In addition to his brother, Glen, 34, left behind three daughters and a son, according to TMZ.
