The 2020 SAG Awards have been handed out, and now it's time to get to the fun part — judging the fashion! Wonderwall.com is rounding up the best and worst dressed stars, starting with the strangest sartorial pick of the night — a look from Sarah Hyland. The "Modern Family" star arrived in this bizarre high-low gown by Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini, and while it certainly grabbed attention, we're not quite sure it was the right kind. Some stars have had a rough road in the fashion department so far this award season. Among them? Charlize Theron, whose choices have received mixed reviews. Unfortunately, her SAG Awards look wasn't much different, and we put this Givenchy Haute Couture ensemble on the miss list. Though it started out strong with a sparkly silver halter-style crop top, it lost us when it came to the black skirt with an overdone center slit and train.
One of the most underrated looks of the night came from Margaret Qualley. The star stepped onto the gray carpet in this stellar slim-cut Chanel suit in a shimmering fabric accessorized with a massive floral pin below the collar to give it an extra dash of silver sparkle.
Nicole Kidman arrived in this matronly Michael Kors look. We weren't fans of the sequined navy number with ruffles at the waist and a thigh-high slit, nor were we into those Alexandre Birman heels.
We adored the pale green shade of Dakota Fanning's Valentino gown. It was almost as if she'd had a heads up that the SAG Awards red carpet would be gray this year since her dress matched the muted tone perfectly. To contrast with her muted green gown, Dakota Fanning added in a hint of blue via her beautiful Fred Leighton jewels — dangling earrings and rings.
We appreciated Renee Zellweger's departure from her signature shade of black, but that doesn't mean we liked this navy Maison Margiela number. The strapless frock featured folded fabric along the top half and a fitted skirt that gave way to a knee-high center slit. She stuck with her classic black when it came time to add shoes, pairing the gown with pointy-toe Jimmy Choo pumps — an underwhelming ensemble.
Zoe Kravitz served up some elegance in this peach Oscar de la Renta gown. We loved the straight neckline and the bow detail at the waist as well as the way she accessorized with those glamorous white gloves by Wing & Weft.
Michelle Williams donned this snoozeworthy Louis Vuitton dress to the SAG Awards. The off-the-shoulder design was instantly forgettable, though we did appreciate the pop of color she brought with that bright red lip shade.
Black dresses don't have to be boring (paging Michelle Williams!). Phoebe Waller-Bridge rocked a black ensemble with just the right amount of edge. The star's Armani Prive design was comprised of separates — a bandeau and fitted skirt — topped with a sparkly netted layer for a unique element that set it apart on the gray carpet.
Another black dress we adored? Sadie Sink's stunning Gucci gown. The frock featured subtle hot pink polka dots, embellished straps and bordering and an equally embellished belt detail. Next up? A better look at her equally fabulous jewels…
Though she didn't need much in the bling department, thanks to her Gucci gown's gorgeous embellishments, Sadie Sink still added some jewels to the mix in the form of these stunning earrings. The Fred Leighton jewels featured diamonds arranged into a floral shape.
We love a good ballgown, but there's a fine line between too much and just right when it comes to this full of a skirt. Cynthia Erivo's Schiaparelli dress started with a bright red bodice before giving way to a hot pink skirt with multiple tiers, strategic ruching and ruffling and ended up culminating in a dramatic train. Meanwhile, Elisabeth Moss proved that red and pink can co-exist when she arrived in this sweet Monique Lhuillier gown. Its long, draped sleeves and full pleated skirt proved romantic while the red detailing at the waist gave us some serious Valentine's Day vibes.
Winona Ryder opted for an all-black goth-like ensemble at the SAG Awards, but unfortunately, it landed among the misses of the night. Her look included a gown with a mostly sheer top half and a skirt comprised of ruffled tiers of tulle, but the most confusing part of the ensemble was the fringed blazer she rocked on top.
Reese Witherspoon embraced the sparkle in this asymmetrical Celine gown. The star's frock featured one super-shimmery silver strap and neckline detail before giving way to a shimmering black design that featured a thigh-high slit to show off her strappy sandals underneath.
We're not quite sure where to start with Helena Bonham Carter's clunky SAG Awards ensemble. From the shiny navy blue frock with black sheer details to the very chunky platform sandals she chose to pair it with, this haphazard look instantly earned a spot on the miss list.
We were wild about Catherine O'Hara's copper gown on the SAG Awards gray carpet! The "Schitt's Creek" star dazzled in a high-necked, long-sleeved design by Marc Jacobs featuring all-over sequins for a serious shimmering effect.
Over the years, Millie Bobby Brown has rocked some seriously stylish looks, but unfortunately, this custom Louis Vuitton getup delivered a miss. The star's ivory ensemble featured long sleeves and a very mature plunging neckline as well as a belt detail before it gave way to a split skirt that showed off pants underneath. We're never fans of dress-pants hybrids, but we did appreciate the way she paired the look with stark white heels. Next up, a look at her simple jewelry selection.
Millie Bobby Brown's Louis Vuitton ensemble featured a floral embellishment below the left shoulder. We're glad her jewelry didn't compete for attention. Instead, the young star donned super-simple Cartier diamonds — studs in her ears and a pretty, delicate diamond necklace.
Laura Dern embraced emerald green in this sleek Stella McCartney gown. The long-sleeved dress proved elegant and edgy simultaneously with its structured shoulders and a beaded nude band above the waist that gave a sheer illusion.
Minidresses are tricky at big events, often bordering on being too casual. This was the case for Storm Reid's Giambattista Valli number. The pink-and-white floral frock, while sweet, felt more fitting for a daytime event than an evening award show.
Kathryn Newton certainly made an entrance in this confection! The young star opted for a sherbet-hued Valentino gown with dramatically structured sleeves, an empire waist and a full, subtly tiered skirt that stopped traffic on the gray carpet. Check this one out from another angle next…

Though we appreciated the pop of color, Rachel Brosnahan's Stella McCartney dress bored us. The frock featured tiny spaghetti straps and embellished silver off-the-shoulder details in an attempt to add some sparkle, but really, it was her jewelry that delivered the only exciting part of this look.

When it came time to add jewels, we loved Christina Applegate's choices… but they didn't feel quite right for the look. The star opted for Azza Fahmy mismatched earrings with a crescent moon on one ear and a star design on the other, but the pretty gold pieces clashed with her black-and-white gown.
Nathalie Emmanuel arrived in this polarizing Miu Miu dress. On one hand, we sort of loved the oversized bow detail at the neckline, but going from an over-the-top bodice to an insanely full and dramatic skirt felt like too much for one dress, sadly making this floral printed frock a miss.
Joey King really upped her glam at this awards show outing in a phenomenal Jason Wu gown. Its corset-style bodice and slinky skirt were all embellished with Swarovski crystals and studs to give it a subtle shimmering effect. We'll get a better view of her beauty look and earrings next…
When it came time for earrings, Joey King opted for these impressively sleek dangling pieces by Jennifer Zeuner. The star also rocked some impressive winged eyeliner and added a pink lip to complete her glam SAG Awards look.
Sometimes a dress just feels stale, and that was the case for Catherine Zeta-Jones' silver selection by Julien X Gabriela. The long-sleeved, sparkly number's plunging neckline and center slit felt overdone and more at home at a Kardashian Christmas party than a major awards show.
Noah Schnapp arrived looking very fashion-forward in this Balmain look. We appreciated his unique menswear getup, from the shiny pale blue suit itself to how he rocked it sans tie to his decision to pair it with white sneakers.
A bold silhouette paired with an equally daring color is a fashion risk, and unfortunately, Madeline Brewer's Monique Lhuillier confection — a nearly-neon blue ballgown with a dramatically tiered tulle skirt — missed the mark.
Logan Browning picked this romantic pastel Jason Wu design for the SAG Awards, and we loved the delicate features of the dreamy dress, from the pleating below the spaghetti straps to the ruffled tulle down the full skirt.
Keltie Knight arrived in this over-the-top pale gray number. Though the top was structurally impressive, the dress lost us with that sky-high slit up the front.
Zuri Hall rocked this pretty emerald gown by JOVANI on the SAG Awards gray carpet. The sleeveless frock featured stunning beaded embellishments and a feathered skirt for maximum glam.
