Keith Urban's drive-in concert could be a prototype for this summer's live music
Thanks to Keith Urban, about 200 healthcare workers from Vanderbilt University Medical Center got a little live music break on Thursday, May 15. The country star played an unannounced concert at the Stardust Drive-In about 40 miles outside of Nashville, Tenn., as a way to show his gratitude for the hard work doctors, nurses, emergency technicians and others continue to do on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. "To all of you guys here tonight, for everything that you've done, and continue to do, to all of your families, we say thank you — this concert is for you," Keith said as he kicked off the show, according to USA Today. In a press release, he said he staged the hour-long performance to "say thanks to the healthcare workers who are putting their lives on the line for us every day." The venue reportedly kept the audience to half capacity, welcoming about 125 cars. As the show got underway, concert-goers enjoyed the music from inside or on the hoods of their cars, or from chairs next to their vehicles, which were parked 15 to 20 feet away from one another. The theater also broadcast a live feed on the movie screen behind Keith and his accompanist. "It was a lot of fun," Keith said Friday on "Today." "We didn't know what to expect. So to some extent, from a performance standpoint, it was a bit of a proof-of-concept show, to figure out what works and what doesn't. But we also really wanted to take the opportunity to not only do the first one but do it for the health care workers … they did an amazing job as an audience." Other drive-in concerts are reportedly slated to take place in other states in the coming weeks, but Keith's set was the first major show of its kind since the pandemic began. His new album, "The Speed of Now Part 1," is due out in September.

"But the fans are definitely excited for something like that to happen in the future, and I'm always open," she added. The mom-to-be also said there are no plans "as yet" for Taylor to make a cameo on her next album. "I mean, the fans are so fun, they do search far and wide for Easter eggs. And we do put them in our visuals and in lyric videos and music videos and content that we created," Katy explained. "Not everything is an Easter egg," she continued, laughing. "Some things are just flowers." (Last year, it was Katy's surprise appearance in Taylor's "You Need to Calm Down" video that signaled the two had put their feud behind them.) Announcing the new track on Twitter Friday, Katy wrote, "Each of us is one in more than seven billion, with our own story of strength and resilience to tell. 🌼DAISIES🌼 is out now. I hope it will be the soundtrack to going for your dreams now… especially the ones we left behind 💛."

These are "frightening times," Kenneth told Michael Strahan, and everyone's still "trying to make sense of it all." He said he hopes the challenge will offer some "comfort" in creating a "safe space" for people to be real about the state of their mental health. Kendall also opened up about her first panic attack on the show. "I was really, really young and I remember feeling like I couldn't breathe and running to my mom and being like: 'Mom, I feel like I can't breathe. Something must be wrong,'" Kendall recalled (via the Daily Mail). "[She], of course, took me to a bunch of doctors just to make sure it was all OK physically, and I was … No one ever told me that I had anxiety.'" The supermodel said the "crazy panic attacks" returned three or four years ago before she was able to keep them in check by "finally" getting "the information that I needed about it." Other celebs working with Kenneth as he fights to "change the narrative" on mental health issues — and to ensure mental health organizations get adequate funding — include Kesha, Whoopi Goldberg and Stanley Tucci.

On Friday, she discovered there's been some online criticism of the shiny faces she and Ryan have occasionally sported this spring. And she had the perfect response. "I don't care," Kelly said, according to People. "I have a new outlook on life. Certain things don't matter anymore and my appearance is one of those things that just don't matter." She then jokingly asked any haters, "how dare you," before asserting that viewers are "lucky that we actually put clothes on." Fair enough.
Charlize Theron shares rare photo of daughter Jackson on the set of 'Fury Road'
George Miller's recent oral history of the "Mad Max" movies for the New York Times seems to have Charlize Theron feeling nostalgic for her days as Furiosa in "Mad Max: Fury Road." After sharing a photo of the filmmaker Thursday — "The man, the myth, the legend. Forever grateful to you, George," she captioned the shot — the star posted a throwback pic from the set of the 2015 film. It showed her in full, filthy, bloody Furiosa garb … cradling her then-new baby. "I became a mom right before we started shooting," she wrote alongside the rare photo of Jackson. "At least my child will forever have the fun fact of 'I spent most of the first year of my life in a war rig," she joked, noting the pic had a "special appearance by my incredible costumer Inge Hough." In the NYT oral history, George said he's working on a prequel about Furiosa, but without Charlize. Rather than use special effects to "de-age" the "Fury Road" star, he plans to go with an actress in her 20s to tell the story of Furiosa's early years.

A former bodyguard for Kanye West gave an interview on this week's Hollywood Raw podcast in which he slammed Kanye West as one of his "least favorite people" to work with. While rehashing Yeezy security detail war stories with the hosts, Steve Stanulis, a former police officer, claimed the rapper once walked into the wrong hotel room at the Waldorf-Astoria while "intoxicated." A "Mexican standoff"-esque situation followed, according to Stanulis, as a "confused" Kanye tried to figure out where he was and the Italian dignitary whose room he'd walked into tried to understand why a random man was in his space. Steve also alleged that while Kanye works extremely hard, he "has ridiculous rules" for employees and is among the "neediest, moodiest and worst tipper(s)" the former security staffer had encountered, according to Page Six.
Madonna's on the 'road to recovery' after debilitating knee injury
Madonna's using her pandemic-induced downtime to fix a recurring knee injury that was apparently made worse by a fall onstage earlier this year. On Thursday, the singer, 61, shared posts on her Instagram Story that showed blood being prepped for stem cell treatment as well as X-rays of the site of the injury (via the Daily Mail). "#RoadToRecovery," she wrote on top of the stem cell post. She previously posted that she was getting stem cell treatment to replace missing cartilage. Madge reportedly took a spill in late February 'when a chair was literally pulled out from underneath me by mistake and I landed on the floor on my tail bone." Her tour was canceled by the COVID crisis just a few days later.

Frequently over the course of their years-long relationship, Sophia Hutchins has repeated that she and Caitlyn Jenner are not romantic partners, despite the fact that they live, travel and often attend events together. On this week's Juicy Scoop podcast, the 24-year-old, who currently serves as the executive director of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation, again explained the nature of her friendship with Caityn, 70, this time in more detail. "It was never romantic. It was never sexual. It was very much friends," she told the host (via E! News). Sophia shared how the two became friends after meeting through their hairstylist. When she saw Caitlyn had no manager after her split from Kris Jenner, Sophia began booking speaking engagements for her. In 2017, she said Caitlyn invited her to stay at her home in Malibu. Sophia was a student at the time and it made sense, given that she'd begun handling management duties for Caitlyn. "That's kind of the extent to our relationship," she said. Despite the endless waves of romance rumors, Sophia said Caitlyn is more "parental" towards her. "It's very parental, very protective. But, at the same time, it's also businessy," she said, adding that she's now thinking of getting her own place, citing an incident last week when she had a romantic interest over and Caitlyn interrupted by coming into her room. "[She] kind of saw a lot of things happening, and so it's kind of like living with your parents," she admitted. "I'm like, 'Oh, this might be a turning point where I might need to move out.'"

Are Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green headed for another split? A source recently told E! News that while they "don't plan to file for divorce right now," they are living separately under Los Angeles' extended lockdown. Brian had already been seen without his wedding ring on, according to JustJared. On Thursday, Megan was also photographed with a bare left ring finger when she grabbed coffee and later, take-out from Erewhon Market. The couple, who share three kids, began dating back in 2004 and married in 2010. they briefly called it quits in 2009 and Megan filed for divorce in 2015. She later had the filing dismissed.
Kristen Bell wants to see her husband get asked about parenting in interviews — and baby changing stations installed in men's rooms
Kristen Bell has noticed that while she and her husband Dax Shepard are both parents to the same kids while working in the same field, there are questions about child-rearing that interviewers seem to only ask her. On her web series, "#Momsplaining With Kristen Bell," the actress and mother of two said she's often asked, for example, "How do you balance it all?" Said Kristen (via ET): "I don't think anyone has ever asked my husband that question, 'How do you balance it all, working and being a dad?'" She went on to point out how "gendered" the world seems to be, saying everything about parenthood appears to be "geared towards moms" rather than both parents. "That's the thing. Just the idea that you have to fit into these gendered boxes, like, my husband is in love with cars. He loves them. He loves them more than me. But, I know some stuff about cars," she added. Earlier in the video, she joked that while each gender can do certain things, rattling off women's ability to "grow a fetus inside of their body, provide sustenance through their nipples, do a middle split." She was speaking to fans from a men's room — and noticed baby changing stations don't seem to ever exist anywhere but women's rooms. "And in this room, the men's room, dads can't change a baby's diaper," she said. "Look, equal is equal. Love is love. It's math, and a men's room needs a changing station, period."
