Amanda Seyfried urges Instagram influencer to be more responsible with her social media posts
From Amanda Seyfried's perspective, "INFLUENCE = POWER. And if you're taking advantage of that—EMPOWER." She shared that sentiment on Instagram this week after spotting — and calling out — a post from Instagram influencer Arielle Charnas in which Arielle showed off her very thin figure in a bikini, saying how "proud" she was to look like she does after two kids. E! News reports the photo irked many commenters who found the photo to be another example of a celeb promoting an "unrealistic" and "unhealthy" body image. Among those angered by Arielle's post was a friend of Amanda's who replied in the comments that Arielle should either admit she was "glorifying an unhealthy body image" and that "wealth made your workouts/body possible" or resign herself to the fact that she's "just perpetuating the patriarchal (totally unrealistic) notion that mothers should 'bounce back' after childbirth." Amanda shared her pal's comment on her own page. "F— it- this is feed material," she captioned a screenshot of the comment. "My very smart friend (again-not tagging) wrote this on a semi-influencer's feed and she blocked both of us (even though I didn't tag her-at least she's getting the message). If we're ready to get paid for flaunting our lifestyle (and inspiring some in the meantime) we have to be open to the discussions surrounding what we're promoting," she explained. "We have to back ourselves up- not run away from the issues it presents. There are gray areas everywhere. Each of us has a chance to back ourselves- especially on this platform. If you know who you are- take a second to decide if what you're throwing out there is worth it- in the big picture." Amanda's response promoted a new string of debates, however, and less than one day later, she shared another post, "for all who feel thin-shamed or bullied during our recent social media discussion." She went on to say, "it isn't in my character to tear down anyone for 'being who they are.' Each of us has the ability and the freedom to say and do as we choose. However, as I'm acutely aware, there's a price tag for the group of people who find themselves with a platform to stand on. You have to be aware of the message you're sending and be able to back it up when faced with criticism (not just praise)." She added that she only regrets how she initiated what should have been a big-picture look at damaging messaging about body image that many people are responsible for, saying she "desperately" wishes she hadn't "targeted (or blasted) one person" and that she is "sorry for the truly negative feels" Arielle "has endured because of this."

Dwyane Wade jokes Gabrielle Union's pre-ESPY speech 'death stare' inspired his sweet words about her
Even when the spotlight is on his NBA career, Dwyane Wade's focus remains on his wife, Gabrielle Union — and that's apparently just how she wants it! At the 2019 ESPY Awards on Wednesday, July 10, the recently retired shooting guard was honored alongside co-retirees Lindsay Vonn and Rob Gronkowski for his tenure in the NBA, which came to a close at the end of the 2019 season. Rather than begin his remarks in the context of basketball, Dwyane opened by cracking a joke about an exchange he and Gabrielle had during New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees' acceptance speech for best record-breaking performance. Making a point to thank his wife, Brittany Brees first, Drew said: "I love you so much. I fall more in love with you each and every day. Thank you for being on this journey with me. Couldn't do it without you." This clearly prompted some expectations from Gabrielle before Dwyane took the stage. "Before I start my speech, I have to say thank you to Drew Brees," Dwyane announced when he got onstage (via CBSNews). "Because of what you said to your wife onstage, my wife looked at me with a death stare and said if I don't say something up here, the car ride home is gonna be long." The crowd laughed and Gabrielle mouthed "it's true" to a camera zooming in on her for viewers. "With that being said, darling, you are amazing. You look incredible in this dress," Dwyane continued, referencing her wedding gown. "I cannot wait 'til five years from now until I get a chance to marry you again," he added. As for that dress? "It's gonna be a little lower budget than the first one," he said, "but it's all good."
Prince Harry fields new dad question at youth ministers meeting
"Are you still awake?" That's how new dad Prince Harry was greeted by Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland when he arrived at a roundtable discussion for Youth Ministers from British Commonwealth countries on Thursday, July 11, according to People. Turns out Harry, who serves as the U.K.'s Commonwealth Youth Ambassador, was, in fact awake in spite of the "sleepless nights" he's said he and Duchess Meghan have endured since welcoming their now 2-month-old son, Archie. The roundtable discussion provided a chance for Harry to discuss issues related to young people in various Commonwealth counties as part of his preparation for 2020's Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. As for Archie and his sleeping habits, it looked as if Harry and Meghan's little guy was starting to give his parents some rest — or at least enough rest for Harry to compete in a charity polo match as Meghan and Archie cheered him on earlier this week. "They are basking in the glow and enjoying each day," a royal source tells People. "As most new parents are, they're just so excited. There's something new every day. They're just really happy."

How Adele got in shape after her split from Simon Konecki
Adele announced she and her husband, Simon Konecki, had called it quits in April. Since then, she seems to have been making major strides towards a more slim, fit figure, having reportedly lost 14 pounds. According to Us Weekly, her secret is a three-times-a-week workout and a new personal trainer she's been using in Los Angeles. "She does 60-minute sessions that include cardio, circuit training and Pilates," a source tells the magazine. "She's found a routine that's working for her and is enjoying it more." It's apparently changed her perspective on working out, something the insider says Adele never previously "cared about or liked." (We feel ya, girl.) Fans first noticed Adele's incredible physique last month after the singer appeared in a photo with the Spice Girls at their June 15 concert in London. But the source says Adele's interest in losing weight wasn't about public appearances. It was about her 6-year-old son, Angelo. "She really wants to be healthy and set a good example for her son. She's more focused on feeling good and the health benefits than the weight loss," the source said.
Irina Shayk shares a rare detail about her daughter and her take on motherhood
In her new cover for Harper's Bazaar's digital issue, Irina Shayk seems committed, as usual, to her M.O. of keeping her personal life personal. Given her recent split from Bradley Cooper, with whom she shares her daughter, Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper, that hasn't been easy. Asked about the public's interest in that side of her life, she shrugs and acknowledges it's a "human" quality to want what we cannot have and in this case, "there's a curtain there" so it follows that "you want to open the curtain." Though the 33-year-old model says little about Lea in the story, she does reveal the derivation of her daughter's name. It seems Lea is named after Irina's paternal grandmother, Galina. "The second part is the Seine, like the river in Paris," she says. That may have been a detail she's willing to share because, as the magazine emphasizes throughout the story, Irina is quite focused on being a "real"
Pamela Anderson is 'happier than ever,' ready to find love again after split from allegedly abusive boyfriend
In the wake of her split from 33-year-old soccer star Adil Rami, Pamela Anderson, 52, is "happier than ever" and ready to date again, a friend of the actress tells the Daily Mail. The pal believes Adil "lied to everyone" in his life. Last month, Pam wrote on her website about the physical and emotional abuse she says she faced while with Adil, claiming he crushed her hands to the point she needed medical attention, threatened to break her legs and forced her to video everything around her when she was not with him, which she says was rare since he'd sometimes take her car keys and prevent her from leaving the house. The "Baywatch" alum also said he was leading "a double life" and was in a relationship with his ex while he was with her. Adil has denied all of her claims. These days, the Mail reports, Pam has multiple men interested in dating her, according to "a close confidant" of the star. "Pamela has moved on and is happier than ever now that she's free of [Adil] and his family's toxic and selfish behavior. They all just protect the hand that feeds them, and that's his," said the friend. "It will be easy to forget him, because she never knew him," the source added. "Even his ex/the mother of his kids is backtracking her truth. She won't give up her posh lifestyle. He supports all of them financially; pays for everything. Pamela doesn't need his money." The pal says Adil viewed Pam as "a trophy" or "a conquest to show off." "Pamela has lost 10lbs since the breakup, and she's happy about that. I guess a broken heart is an easy way to lose weight. But her heart will heal," Pam's friend tells the tab. The split came less than a year after rumors of trouble first swirled around the pair.
Olivia Culpo gets candid about mental health, the dangers of social media
It can be easy to use social media to mask the truth about what's going on inside a person. That's clearly something Olivia Culpo's been thinking about lately. This week, shared a long post about how much better she's been lately after battling a bout of depression. "2nd photo, a few months ago: I was depressed," she captioned two photos of herself. "I had no appetite, was drinking way too much, smoking, couldn't sleep, and couldn't eat. But I was still taking photos on social media and pretending everything was great. I was going through a difficult situation that left me mentally, emotionally, and spiritually bankrupt and it had taken its toll physically. The feeling of despair is a relatable one, so I feel a responsibility to anyone else going through something difficult to say that it's ok to not be ok." E! News notes that the situation is likely Olivia's 2018 split from Danny Amendola who, after a years-long, on-off relationship, was photographed in a questionable context with sports reporter Bianca Peters. Danny responded to the breakup by posting a slew of negative things about Olivia and making an uncalled for comment about the sex life they shared. On Instagram on Thursday, July 11, Olivia continued: "1st photo is from the other day, and I am looking healthier," she said. "I have my appetite back and am treating my body correctly. We're all too familiar with the 'highlight REEL' of Instagram so I wanted to get REAL and tell you it's not always as amazing as it seems." She then reminded followers of the dangers of the "crazy pressures" social media can create. "Instagram is everyone's best version of themselves and their lives," she wrote. "It can trick us into thinking everything is perfect in other's worlds," she wrote. "Which is NOT true. We are all more alike than we think, navigating life with similar ups and downs; good times and bad. We never really know what someone is going through, so it's unfair to judge/compare." Later in the long post, she said she hopes sharing her thoughts on the subject would potentially help "others who might be going through a hard time and feeling like they need to 'have it all together.'"
Ja Rule's Fyre Fest fraud case dismissed for now
Ja Rule's Fyre Festival partner Billy McFarland is serving a six-month sentence for fraud related to the $27.4 million he got investors to sink into the would-be event. Ja Rule, however, may be off the hook in a civil case filed by ticket-holders who found their $400 to $1,000 tickets got them nothing but a refuse-strewn island without sanitation, electricity or much food when they arrived at the Bahamas-area venue in 2017. Page Six reports a Manhattan federal court judge ruled this week that the ticket-holders "did not meet the legal standard to bring fraud claims against" the rapper and the festival's marketing officer, Grant Margolin. The judge did give the plaintiffs three weeks to come up with new evidence they could use to refile a fraud claim. Said Ja Rule's attorney: "Justice was done today."
Usher wants accuser who claims he gave her herpes to be penalized for silence at deposition
Usher is still mired in legal battles over allegations multiple people contracted herpes from him. Now, he's asking a Los Angeles court to force one of his accusers to fork over $2,500 in sanctions in the case, according to the Daily Mail. Usher claims the Jane Doe accuser's refusal to answer questions in a June 25 deposition about how he allegedly gave her herpes is grounds for her to be penalized with a fine and made to answer the questions he's asked on court record. The singer has already settled with one accuser and remains in litigation with a male accuser who believes he got herpes after Usher exposed him to the disease at a Los Angeles spa.
Adam Scott reveals his most embarrassing 'Big Little Lies' moment with Reese Witherspoon
From the beginning, part of the fun — ok, the dark fun — of watching "Big Little Lies" has been the major star-power vibes of the cast, which now features three Oscar winners: Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon. In a chat with Conan O'Brien this week, Adam Scott, who plays the husband of Reese's character, was asked if he ever feels self-conscious given his costars' impressive c.v.'s. "It's hard because everyone in the cast is so incredibly famous and talented, it's crazy…," he marveled, according to E! News. "One time with Reese Witherspoon and I were shooting a scene, it was the last scene we had together in season two and it was a scene in a therapists office. In between takes she said something funny," he recalled, adding that he laughed. The laugh did not go well. "A string of snot, like, came out, and wrapped around my nose," he said. "And I just excused myself, went and found the makeup person, got a Kleenex and wiped off." He then tried to think of his next move. "I thought, 'Should I reference what just happened to Reese? Should I make a joke about it or just apologize for the disgusting thing that just happened?' And I didn't," he said. Adam considered bringing it up over the next few months. Should he send a text? Call Reese and explain the snot? "Let me tell you as a friend, that no, too much time has gone by now," Conan joked. "The only thing you can do now is maybe on your death bed, summon Reese to your side and go, 'The snot! The snot! I'm sorry!' and then die and have that be the last words you ever spoke." Truth.
