Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives this month, starting with our favorite celeb love life story of January 2018: Brandi Glanville ripped Gerard Butler a new one in late January 2017 after he dished on their 2011 fling — and came off as embarrassed by it — during the Jan. 17 episode of "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen." During the interview, the "300" actor explained that he never knew Brandi's last name or that she was famous when they first hooked up: "I had no idea who she was," he said. "I kept saying, 'What do you do?' She goes, 'It doesn't matter. It's not important.' … Anyway, we hung out, we had fun and then I never saw her again. Suddenly, I was walking down the street with a director and these guys from TMZ go, 'Hey, what about you and Brandi Glanville?' And I'm like, 'Who's Brandi Glanville?' because I didn't even know her last name. … She got pretty upset." The onetime star of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" took to Twitter on Jan. 18 to clap back at Gerard in a series of tweets: "Let's set the record straight Gerard Butler hit on me at a party Asked for my phone number called me up the next day and asked me out so if he wants to cringe now he can f— off," she wrote. "Gerard Butler did not [know] my last name or what I did that is true but he hit on me and asked me out end of story.Moving on. … I'm sorry but when you meet someone that clearly doesn't know who you are, are you suppose to be a d— and say bye I'm famous????" But Brandi wasn't done with Gerard after her Twitter rant! On Jan. 22, she addressed his "misogyny" and "ego" in a lengthy blog post: "Your behavior the other night, publicly acting as if you were embarrassed to have ever met me or had relations with me as if I were some horrid decrepit troll is not only disgusting but unacceptable," she wrote after taking a swipe at his movie career. She then offered him some advice: "Respect the women you invite into your bed and into your life. Whether you know their last name or not! Whether they are famous or not! Just be a proper human being," she wrote. "Imagine that some man was on tv speaking of your mother, sister, daughter or even friend cringing with embarrassment. Exactly the way you acted and spoke of me. Well my two sons Mason,14 and Jake, 10 don't have to imagine it because it just happened to them, to me and to all of us." The mother of two concluded by chiding Gerard for his attitude about reality TV stars: "So Gerry are you saying that had you known I was on reality tv that you would not have approached me and asked for my number?? Do you have something against reality TV? Are you too big of a movie star to be associated with lowly reality television personalities? Honestly, what would knowing my last name have changed? Are you a better level of a human being because you do movie work?" asked Brandi. "For the record I am now embarrassed to have ever known you. I think you suck and my dad wants to kick you're a–." Get him, girl!

Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers made headlines on Jan. 16 when his ex-girlfriend, Tori Woodward, took to Instagram stories to share photos that purportedly depict the Grammy winner kissing another woman at a residential location. "Alex is disgusting. Men are trash. Don't ever forget it," she wrote on one image, which was reportedly taken from a CCTV surveillance camera (per People.com). "They'll look you in the eyes and tell you they love you. Then destroy you without a second thought," she wrote on another snap. Tori, who started seeing Alex in February 2014, also detailed her ex's history of infidelity: "After hours of begging him for scraps of honesty I chipped away just enough to confirm that this is not the first time he's [remorsefully] cheated on me," she wrote. "That 'psycho b—-' from Vegas, the 'lame Instagram model' caught on video and countless others he looked me in the eyes and swore on his life he never touched. Consistent outright denial faded to him explaining that because all men do it it's not that bad and, in different words, that because he's famous now, he had a different rulebook for decency. What's perhaps most amazing is that he HASN'T EVEN APOLOGIZED. … What he has done is everything he possibly can to stop this from coming out, from looking [like] the kind of person who does what he's done." A week later, TMZ caught up with the disgraced singer at an airport in Los Angeles. "It's been a little rough, but it's alright; you know, that's life," he said on Jan. 23 of the breakup. As for his ex, "She deserves the best," said Alex. "I wish nothing but the best for her. She deserves a better guy than me." The Grammy winner, who said he's "been miserable" in the wake of the split, also revealed what he's learned from the debacle: "Be a better person and take care of those who love you," he said.

Paris Hilton and Chris Zylka, who were first linked in early 2017, got engaged in Aspen, Colorado, in the days leading up to New Year's Eve. "I am so excited to be engaged to the love of my life and my best friend," the celebutante told People magazine in an interview published on Jan. 2. "I have never felt so happy, safe and loved. He is perfect for me in every way and showed me that fairy tales really do exist!" The bride-to-be then took to Instagram to share a slideshow of photos of the proposal, which took place on a snowy mountaintop. (The actor popped the question with a $2 million diamond sparkler.) In early January, the DJ-entrepreneur told "Extra" that she hopes to marry Chris three times: "For my 21st birthday I had five parties, so maybe for the wedding I'll have a European one, an American one [and] one for everyone around the world," she said. (Paris's mom, Kathy Hilton, told Life & Style that she's serving as her daughter's wedding planner.) The former reality TV star also intends to take her husband's last name — though don't expect her to drop the "Hilton" anytime soon. In a video published by The Blast on Jan. 19, Paris tells a videographer on the streets of Beverly Hills that she'll use "both" names after they tie the knot.

The National Enquirer reported on Jan. 10 that Angelina Jolie had fallen for Cambodian-American rapper-filmmaker PraCh Ly. The tabloid reported that PraCh "has been making hush-hush visits to her palatial estate" and is introducing the actress and her kids to Buddhism. "Angelina and PraCh have a special bond. They're perfect for each other!" a source told the National Enquirer. Another source told the tabloid that PraCh is "a great role model" for Angelina's eldest son, Maddox. "He can teach him about his homeland of Cambodia in a way he can relate to," said the source. But within hours, Gossip Cop had thrown cold water on the report. "We're told by multiple sources that the rapper and actress aren't an item," wrote Gossip Cop, which added that the dating rumors are "nothing more than a tabloid attempting to spark a nonexistent romance simply because Jolie was spotted with the same man on more than one occasion." (Angelina and PraCh reportedly met through Loung Ung, the human rights activist and writer of "First They Killed My Father," the memoir that the actress-director adapted for Netflix in 2017.) People magazine chimed in on Jan. 11 to further debunk the dating rumors: "She isn't dating anyone and won't be for a very long time," a source told the weekly. "She is focused on her children and their needs." The source adds that PraCh is "a friend" whose work Angelina respects.
Tarek El Moussa and Christina El Moussa are (finally) officially divorced, People magazine reported on Jan. 22. The "Flip or Flop" co-stars, who first made moves in January 2017 to legally end their marriage, parted ways romantically in 2016. Since then, Christina has been linked to several different men. She and British TV presenter Ant Anstead have reportedly been an item since late 2017. Tarek, it seems, has moved on too! On Jan. 25, In Touch reported that the father of two is "in love" with lingerie model Patience Silva. They "met toward the end of last year on the celebrity dating app Raya," a source told the magazine, adding that Patience is "the perfect match" for Tarek.
January Jones is dating Nick Viall, Page Six reported on Jan. 15. The duo reportedly connected after the "Mad Men" actress, a "The Bachelor" superfan, said during a November 2017 interview with James Corden that the reality TV star once reached out to her team to set them up to compete on "Lip Sync Battle." Said January, "He asked me to battle him on 'Lip Sync Battle.' So is that his way of asking me out or does he have a problem with me? I don't know what that was, but I declined because I don't need to be humiliated." At the time, the actress added of Vanessa Grimaldi's ex-fiance, "You don't know if you like him or if he's a scumbag, and I think that's why I'm attracted to him." Not long after her appearance on "The Late Show," Nick asked the actress to join him for drinks — "They've been seeing each other since," a source told Page Six.
On Jan. 8, E! broke the news that Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff parted ways in December 2017 after more than five years as a couple. "It was mutual," a source told the outlet. "Jack and Lena were growing apart and it just made sense for them to end their relationship where it was." Added the insider, "They want the best for each other no matter what. They are both moving on." Two days later, Us Weekly revealed that the fun. and Bleachers rocker has already moved on with another woman, an undisclosed musician. The news broke a day after the "Girls" creator took to Instagram to address the breakup and her decision to continue wearing a (non-engagement) ring that Jack gave her: "I'll always wear it," she said in a live video. "Love is a really cool, powerful, eternal thing, and it doesn't have to be defined the way we in Western culture define it as beginnings and ends. Things can be 'you're a drop of water and you re-enter the ocean.'" The former couple first connected in 2012 after being set up on a blind date. In November 2017, Lena took to Twitter to joke about how she thought she'd caught Jack "furtively planning a proposal" — but had actually caught him trash talking her to his sister. As for the new unnamed musician in Jack's life…
Jack Antonoff took to Twitter on Jan. 16 to shut down rumors that he'd moved on from Lena Dunham with Lorde: "normally i would never address rumors but i resent having the most important friendships and working relationships in my life reduced to dumb hetero normative gossip," he tweeted. "those relationships are deeply important and sacred. with that said, im not seeing anyone. lol." The Bleachers frontman co-wrote and co-produced Lorde's "Melodrama" album and frequently pops up on her Instagram. She even referred to him as her "work husband" during an interview with Seth Meyers.
Terez Owens revealed on Jan. 2 that Aaron Rodgers and race-car driver Danica Patrick were spotted on a dinner date at his favorite restaurant in Green Bay, Wisconsin, sometime after Christmas in December 2017. A source told the site, "[They] were all over each other, kissing and couldn't seem to keep their hands off each other. It's early but they are really hitting it off." The sports webloid's source added that Aaron and Danica are "on the extreme down low, as they both want to keep this quiet for now." But not TOO quiet! "Yes, Aaron and I are dating," Danica told The Associated Press (per ESPN.com) on Jan. 15, adding that she first met the Green Bay Packers quarterback at the 2012 ESPY Awards. "I told him a long time ago I'd always root for him as a player," said the Chicago Bears fan. "Now I am probably going to cheer for the whole team. Take out the word 'probably.' Now I'm going to cheer for the whole team."
Jesse William's ex-wife, Aryn Drake-Lee, accused the "Grey's Anatomy" star of having a new girlfriend in court documents obtained by TMZ in late January. According to the mother of two, the actor violated their custody agreement by introducing their two children to his new lady. (According to the agreement, both parents must wait until they've passed the six-month point in a new relationship to introduce a new boyfriend or girlfriend to the kids.) Aryn alleges that Jesse has been taking the children to his new girlfriend's house since October 2017, that the kids call their dad's new lady "Mama C" and that the woman joined Jesse and the children on a vacation to California's Bear Mountain. But on Jan. 25, TMZ reported that "Mama C" is not Jesse's girlfriend or love interest but rather longtime friend Ciarra Pardo. (According to a TMZ source, Jesse and Ciarra have been friends since the kids were born — and Aryn knows her.) The father of two reportedly filed legal docs denying he has a girlfriend and maintaining that Mama C is a mutual friend. (Jesse was linked to Minka Kelly in the months following his breakup from Aryn, but on Jan. 25, multiple media outlets reported that they'd called it quits.)
In early January, Michelle Williams wrote off the heart-shaped diamond sparkler she's been sporting lately as nothing more than "beautiful jewelry" when People magazine asked if she was engaged, but multiple source told Us Weekly in a report published on Jan. 17 that the actress is, in fact, set to wed New York financial consultant Andrew Youmans. "She wants a good guy and a stable family life," a source told the magazine of Michelle and her man, who were first linked in July 2017.
Cardi B and Offset are still going strong in spite of reports that blew up throughout January alleging that he cheated on her. On Jan. 9, the Grammy nominee seemingly confirmed the rumors in a series of since-deleted tweets: "I'm going to make a decision [about whether or not to breakup] in my own times with my heart and mind," she reportedly wrote. "I don't need to be rushed or be told what to do. Its my life! I belong to me not to the world." The "Bodak Yellow" rapper also addressed the cheating rumors to a fan on Instagram, writing in the comments section of a post, "well if people are talking about it and keep asking me how i feel about the situation why not let them know? Right or wrong? No it's not right for a [man] to cheat… But what you want me to do? Go f— me another [man]? start all over again and get cheated on again? This s— happens to everyone and i [bet to] You too… People handle they relationship different soo." The cheating rumors first took off in late December 2017, two months after Cardi and Offset got engaged, when a hacked video — which appeared to show the Migos rapper in a hotel room with a naked woman — surfaced online. Then in early January, a second video — which appeared to show Offset in bed with yet another woman — hit the Internet. On Jan. 26, Us Weekly reported that the duo are actually better than ever: "Cardi lives and breathes Offset," a source told the magazine. "He has committed to her and they're both very happy and stronger than ever now. She has zero intention of leaving him."
Olivia Munn played damage control in late January after several media outlets reported that she and Chris Pratt were dating — and that their relationship had left his ex-wife, Anna Faris, feeling furious and betrayed. On Jan. 21, ET Online reported that the "Jurassic Park" star and the "X-Men: Apocalypse" actress had shared a "totally romantic" dinner date in Los Angeles on Jan. 19. "He had his arm around her at one point," an alleged spy told the website, adding that it didn't look like the duo were trying to keep their PDA under wraps. Not long after the report surfaced, Olivia took to Instagram to throw cold water on the rumors by sharing a screengrab of her text conversation with Anna after she reached out to clear the air: "Sooo… I would never respond to random tabloid stories, but since we know each other I wanted to reach out to you personally to tell you the story about me and Chris dating has 0% truth," Olivia texted the "Mom" star. "I'm sure you already know it's not true, or maybe you didn't care either way, but I just wanted to reach out personally to tell you it's not true." Anna responded, "Hi!!!! Oh my god-this town is so f—— crazy-you are so sweet to text-I love you-having said that if you were my new sister in law I would be thrilled! -let's please catch up soon."
Ray J and his pregnant wife, Princess Love, raised questions about the state of their marriage of less than two years throughout mid- and late January. The trouble started when Princess shared a since-deleted text post about relationships on Instagram. "The problem is women think he will change, he won't. And men make the mistake of thinking she will never leave, she will," read the post (per The Jasmine Brand), which Princess captioned, "Keep foolin the world but you can't fool me anymore," along with the peace sign emoji. She also shared a series of cryptic, since-deleted tweets. "If you're going to stay with a man, do it because that's what you truly want. Never stay because of children.. When they grow up, then what???" she wrote. "To me, for better of worse doesn't mean cheating.. that's like saying stay with a man that beats you," read another since-deleted tweet. Princess also retweeted a fan who posted about ending a marriage over infidelity, adding the comment, "This!" The original fan tweet read, "What woman in their right mind vows to stick through cheating? That's not the vows ma'am. The Bible says for adultery you may leave. Even God given an out." Ray J seemingly addressed the cheating rumors in the caption of a photo of himself on a private jet, which he posted on Instagram on Jan. 23 with the hashtag #ThoughtsToSelf. He wrote in part, "dont let this negative energy get 2 you Ray- You are doing everything right – from being faithful – staying focused on the goal and treating everyone with respect and love … Be the best father on the Planet! – Pray 4 all those who want to bring you down Ray- and show them even more love to let them know how LOVE overpowers all- Keep God first – be patient in your relationship – Listen and learn Ray." But the couple seemed just fine on Jan. 25 when the singer shared a video of himself hyping a concert from his bed. In the clip, a smiling Princess can be seen lying in bed next to him.
According to a January OK! magazine cover story, Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel fell for each other on the March 2017 set of their upcoming drama "Love, Simon." A questionable source told the tabloid that the "Transformers" actor is the one who gave the actress the courage to finally file to divorce Ben Affleck in April 2017. "Anyone in Jen's shoes, after all she went through with Ben, would doubt whether they could ever trust a man again. But Josh is truly a good guy, and spending time with him opened her up emotionally," said the insider, who added that Ben and Josh's ex-wife, Fergie, will "need to work hard to put a dent in Josh and Jen's high spirits." Added the source of the alleged couple, "They're in their own bubble and probably wouldn't even notice." But Gossip Cop threw cold water on the OK! report on Jan. 10, writing that there's "no truth" to the dating rumors and that there's "nothing romantic going on" with the co-stars (pictured with "Love, Simon" castmates Nick Robinson and Talitha Bateman). Further complicating the alleged timeline: In November 2017, an Us Weekly source reportedly heard Jennifer say she hasn't been on a date and isn't interested in dating. "People want to set me up and I am just like, 'No, thank you!'" she allegedly said.
Ed Sheeran took to Instagram on Jan. 20 to reveal that he and Cherry Seaborn got engaged in late 2017. "Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well," he captioned a photo of himself and his former classmate, whom he had a crush on in high school. The duo reconnected in 2015 and moved in together in late 2016. Cherry inspired Ed's hit track with Beyonce, "Perfect."
Kendall Jenner and Blake Griffin, who were first linked in mid-2017, started dialing it down in January. "[They] have been cooling off recently, but they're not officially broken up," a source told People magazine as part of a report published on Jan. 15, a few days after the basketball star was spotted sharing an intimate dinner with a mystery woman and another couple in Malibu. "They were definitely giving off couple vibes," an onlooker told People of Blake and the other woman. "At one point, she put her hand in his lap, where he held her hand there for about five to 10 minutes or so." Added the spy, "It was so subtle. They seemed very low-key together, and their holding hands looked entirely natural. They looked like they were really comfortable with each other, and they were definitely not calling any attention to themselves and the little bit of PDA that they shared." (Less than two months ago, in late November 2017, a source told the magazine that it seemed as though Kendall and Blake had been getting "more serious lately.") Meanwhile, a Radar Online source attributes the setback in Kendall and Blake's relationship to his desire to share custody of his two kids with his ex-fiancée. According to the Radar source, Kendall is "not ready to play stepmom" to her beau's kids. In spite of all the rumors regarding the state of their relationship, the supermodel was photographed sitting courtside and cheering on Blake's team, the Los Angeles Clippers, as they played the Boston Celtics in L.A. on Jan. 24.
TMZ reported on Jan. 4 that Nicki Minaj and Nas broke up in late 2017 after their relationship ran its course due to the difficulties of long-distance dating. "We're told they respect each other, and there won't be any trash talking — but, on the other hand, we're also told they won't be hanging out as friends either," wrote the webloid. Speculation that the rappers and longtime friends had taken their relationship to the next level first kicked off in May 2017.
Princess Eugenie and her boyfriend of about seven years, Jack Brooksbank, got engaged in Nicaragua in early January, Buckingham Palace announced on Jan. 22. The duo plan to wed in the fall at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, the same venue where her cousin, Prince Harry, plans to marry Meghan Markle. Eugenie called the proposal a "complete surprise" — even though she and Jack, who got down on one knee, have been together since she was still in college!
Maria Menounos and longtime love Keven Undergaro tied the knot just before midnight on New Year's Eve in New York City as part of FOX's live coverage of the countdown, which she co-hosted with Steve Harvey (who officiated the surprise nuptials). Maria and Keven, who've been a couple for more than 20 years, got engaged in March 2016.
Darren Criss also took to Instagram on Jan. 20 to reveal that he's engaged. "Mia and I have had seven and a half years of fun, wacky, wonderful, CRAZY adventures together. And I'm happy to announce that we're kicking those adventures up a notch. We're goin for it. To boldly go where neither of us have gone before. Engage," he captioned a photo of himself and longtime love Mia Swier.
Anne Heche filed documents on Jan. 10 to establish custody and child support for her 8-year-old son, Atlas, with longtime partner James Tupper, who also helped raise her son from a previous relationship, 15-year-old Homer Laffoon. The "Men in Trees" co-stars, who took their relationship to the next level in 2007, released a joint statement the following day: "James and I have shared a great life together and have many wonderful memories. We've enjoyed working together, most recently on 'The Brave,' where he joins us for our two mind-bending finale episodes," they said. "Relationships change and grow; we're taking time for that. We care very much for each other and plan to continue raising our two beautiful boys in love and harmony. Thank you for allowing us privacy as our family evolves."
Ellen Page took to Instagram on Jan. 3 to reveal that she'd secretly married dancer Emma Portner just six months after they went public with their relationship. "Can't believe I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife," the actress captioned a slideshow on the photo-sharing platform. (Ellen ended her relationship of 18 months with artist Samantha Thomas in January 2017.)
After she was spotted with some special bling on THAT finger during the Golden Globes on Jan. 7, Caitriona Balfe confirmed to People magazine that she and her love of nearly four years, music manager-turned-bar owner Tony McGill, are engaged. "It happened over the break. I'm very happy," said the "Outlander" star. Congrats!
Steve-O took to Instagram on Jan. 22 to reveal that he'd asked his girlfriend, Lux Wright, to be his wife. "Last night, in front of a bunch of my Jackass buddies, my closest friends, my dad, and my sister… she said 'yes'. I planned that for more than six months, and I'm so happy — I can't wait for you all to see it… #GNARLY," he captioned a slideshow of photos of himself and his lady, including a shot of Lux's hand adorned with her new engagement bling. The "Jackass" alum has been married twice before.
