During an interview for the cover of Vanity Fair, which hit the Internet on July 26, Michelle Williams revealed that she secretly married singer-songwriter Phil Elverum, who performs under the name Mount Eerie, earlier this month. The duo tied the knot in front of a small group of friends and family, including their daughters, in the Adirondacks. The family of Michelle's late ex, Heath Ledger, is thrilled for Michelle and Heath's daughter, Matilda. "We are terribly happy, it is great," the actor's father, Kim Ledger, told The Goss on July 29.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth weathered breakup rumors throughout the month. In early July, a source told Radar Online that the couple have been "hanging by a thread for months" and called them "as good as broken up." Then in mid-July, OK! Australia claimed that the duo called off wedding plans because they couldn't agree on when to start a family. According to the report, the "Independence Day: Resurgence" star is ready to get married and have kids now but the singer-actress just isn't there yet, leaving her beau "heartbroken." But Miley and Liam presented a united front in the wake of the breakup rumors. They were spotted together at the Nashville airport on July 18, and the following day, the actor took to his Instagram Story to share a video of himself kidding around with Miley during a car ride.
In late July, multiple media outlets reported that Josh Duhamel and Eiza Gonzalez called it quits after just months of dating. People magazine reported that their "tough" work schedules were to blame, but according to "Entertainment Tonight," there was more at play than just that: "She was looking for a serious relationship and wanted a life partner. He wasn't at that point," said a source. The "ET" insider also claimed that the "Transformers" star isn't over his 2017 split from Fergie: "Josh and Fergie's breakup is still very raw and painful for him," said the source. "He worked hard to move on from his eight-year marriage and Eiza was a wonderful companion for him during a very difficult time. … After Josh and Fergie split, he wasn't expecting to get involved with anyone so soon and, in the end, Josh didn't have the same goals as Eiza. … Josh and Fergie have been talking often. He has done everything to keep their parenting relationship intact, but he also misses her." Added the insider, "Some of their friends are relieved that the relationship with Eiza is over and hope one day Fergie and Josh will work it out."
Page Six reported on July 14 that Matt Lauer and his estranged wife, Annette Roque, are in the final stages of their multimillion-dollar divorce, which a source described as "imminent." Us Weekly also reported on the divorce, with an insider revealing that the disgraced former "Today" show host is expected to fork over around $50 million in a settlement to his ex. According to the Us Weekly source, Annette will walk away from the marriage with the former couple's horse farm, their current residence and a one-time payment of $25 million. "Matt is furious he is essentially handing over half of his net worth to Annette. But he wants it over with," said the insider.
Us Weekly reported on July 3 that Jennifer Aniston has started dating again — and two men are actually competing for her affections. One is a tech titan she met through a close friend. "He recently split from his wife and is trying to win over Jen," said a source. The second man is "an industry creative she met when they started working on a project together several months ago," said a second source.
TMZ reported on July 3 that David Foster and Katharine McPhee — who's 34 years the music producer's junior — got engaged during a European vacation after just a year of dating.
Halsey took to her Instagram Story on July 3 to announce that she and G-Eazy called it quits after almost a year of dating. Multiple media outlets reported on July 15 that Demi Lovato and G-Eazy were dating after a photo surfaced purportedly depicting the duo holding hands outside Warwick nightclub in Los Angeles. Metro reported that the alleged couple arrived at the club at 1 a.m. and left together at 2:30 a.m. But TMZ reported on July 16 that according to their sources, "The two were not together." On July 18, G-Eazy told "Entertainment Tonight" on the ESPY Awards red carpet that Demi is "just a friend."
Selena Gomez was linked to Caleb Stevens — the younger brother of her best friend, Raquelle — after they were photographed visiting the same cabin in upstate New York on July 11. The next day, Caleb joined Selena on the set of her upcoming horror-comedy "The Dead Don't Die." But People magazine reported that the duo are "absolutely only friends" and definitely "not dating."
In June, there were reports that Rihanna dumped her billionaire beau of more than a year, Hassan Jameel, because she "just got tired of him." In other new boo news: Page Six reported on July 11 that Luann de Lesseps is dating her married agent, Rich Super, who recently filed for divorce. At the time, they'd reportedly been seeing each other "for a few weeks" and things were getting serious. "He's smitten with her, and she's very excited about it," said a source. "It's very, very new [but they're] exploring it," chimed in a second insider. Rich has reportedly been representing Luann for several months. Shannon Beador is dating real estate developer Scot Matteson, who made his debut on her Instagram page on July 17. A few days later, her "The Real Housewives of Orange County" co-star Kelly Dodd confirmed to Us Weekly that "Shannon has a boyfriend."
On July 1, Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole confirmed in nearly identical social media posts that they'd called it quits after two and a half years of coupledom. The duo share a 15-month-old son, Bear.
