Cutest couples at past SAG Awards

On Jan. 19, 2020, the Screen Actors Guild Awards returns, bringing amazingly styled celebs and their significant others out for a night of fun and celebration. The husband-and-wife duo were both nominees that night, but it was Emily who took home a statue for her performance in their horror flick "A Quiet Place." Although Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's relationship came to an end in 2016, they only had eyes for each other at the 2008 SAG Awards. That year, Angie — who wore a flowing vintage gown from Hermes — was pregnant with twins Vivienne and Knox and a nominee for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role for her work in "A Mighty Heart."

Does anyone else just sigh when they see beautiful pictures of iconic Hollywood couple Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi? We definitely did when we saw this adorable photo from the 2006 SAG Awards. Ellen looked prim and proper in her tuxedo while Portia — who was nominated as part of the "Arrested Development" ensemble cast that year — looked lovely in a floral-print maxidress.

Another beautiful couple at the 2019 SAG Awards? "This Is Us" star Sterling K. Brown and his gorgeous wife, actress Ryan Michelle Bathe, who wore a stunning silver and pink sequined mermaid gown by Sebastian Gunawan. Sterling took home not one but two awards that night in ensemble cast categories for his work in both "Black Panther" and "This Is Us."

Although "The Notebook" stars Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling are both happily in new relationships today, at the 2007 SAG Awards, they made us swoon with their unabashed PDA. Rachel arrived for her first Screen Actors Guild Awards show in a white-and-silver halter-style mini and with pink streaks in her hair while Ryan — who was nominated for his performance in "Half Nelson" that year — wore a tux and tie.

One of our favorite celebrity couples hit the red carpet at the 2017 SAG Awards . Of course we're talking about musician and "The Voice" coach John Legend and his perfectly matched wife, model and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen. John wore a dapper Dior Homme tuxedo while Chrissy took a sexier approach in a high-slit tuxedo dress.

Oh, the heartbreak! At the 2015 SAG Awards, then-engaged Hollywood stars Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston looked so happy together. Jen — who was nominated that night for her performance in "Cake" — looked stunning in a vintage Galliano gown while Justin had us in our feelings in his slim-fit suit. They split less than three years later.

Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara were almost too cute at the 2017 SAG Awards. With her foot playfully extended, Sofia — who wore a sparkling tutu-inspired look from designer Zuhair Murad — looked happy to have her husband by her side to help her celebrate her nomination as part of the "Modern Family" cast.

At the 2018 SAG Awards, Australian super-couple Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban looked happy to be by each other's sides. While Keith kept his look traditional in a tuxedo, Nicole — who won an award that night for her performance on the HBO series "Big Little Lies" — shined in a curve-hugging chocolate-sequined Armani Privé gown.

At the 2014 SAG Awards, Tom Hanks kept his beautiful wife of more than 30 years, Rita Wilson, close by his side. While Rita glittered in a crinkled silver dress with black side panels, Tom — who was nominated for his work in the biopic "Captain Phillips" that year — kept it simple in a double-breasted tux and bow tie.

Standing proudly beside Mahershala Ali's side at the 2019 SAG Awards was his wife, actress and musician Amatus Sami-Karim. Mahershala — who took home the award for outstanding performance by a supporting actor for his work in "Green Book" that year — hit a fashion high note in this fitted plum tux and white bow tie. Amatus took a more renaissance approach to her style, donning a long-sleeved black velvet gown fitted with a blue corset and matching headscarf.

This sweet pic of Chrishell Stause and Justin Hartley almost breaks out hearts. The former soap stars are seen here looking loved up at the 2019 SAG Awards — where Justin won a prize as part of the "This Is Us" cast — but 10 months later, Justin filed for divorce.

John Travolta and Kelly Preston still looked like newlyweds in this pic from the very first SAG Awards in 1995. They were also adorably matched with John — who was nominated that night for his performance in "Pulp Fiction" — arriving in an all-black look while Kelly donned a beaded black column gown.

Sorry, Jim Parsons, but your husband (then-fiancé) Todd Spiewak totally upstaged you at the 2017 SAG Awards. Jim, who took home a trophy as part of the ensemble cast of "Hidden Figures" that year, wore a checkered tuxedo while Todd kicked things up a notch in a gorgeous blue velvet tuxedo jacket with black lapels. The couple married three months later.

Mom-to-be Keira Knightley looked stunning as she posed alongside husband James Righton at the 2015 SAG Awards. The British actress — who was nominated that night for two awards for her performance in "The Imitation Game" — wore a tiered royal purple gown from Erdem.

This Hollywood couple makes a stunning pair. At the 2018 SAG Awards, Dave Franco and wife Alison Brie celebrated her two nominations for her work on "GLOW" in style. While Dave looked sexy in his tux, Alison stole the spotlight in an incredible one-shouldered red dress from Dundas, pairing it with Jimmy Choo stilettos and jewelry from Irene Neuwirth.

The love between Julius Tennon and Viola Davis is palpable. The duo were all smiles at the 2017 SAG Awards, where Vivienne Westwood-clad Viola was nominated for two awards and won the prize for outstanding performance by a supporting actress for her work in "Fences."

Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker looked loved up at the 2003 SAG Awards. Sarah — who was nominated that night as part of the ensemble cast of HBO's "Sex and the City" — went surprisingly low-key with her fashion in this simple black-and-white empire-waist dress with a red hibiscus embellishment, while — like most men that night — her husband donned a black tuxedo.

Talk about style! At the 2014 SAG Awards, Matthew McConaughey and wife Camila Alves were draped in designer fashion. Matthew — who won the award for outstanding performance by a lead actor for his work in "Dallas Buyers Club" that night — wore a patterned tux from Dolce & Gabbana and Camila wore a yellow draped silk gown by Donna Karan Atelier. Not too shabby for the parents of three!

Long-married Hollywood stars Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen were a dashing duo at the 1999 SAG Awards. While Ted was traditional in his tuxedo, Mary — who'd earned a nomination for her supporting role in the TV movie "About Sarah" — shined in a crimson evening gown and matching sash paired with a gorgeous diamond and ruby necklace.

More than two decades of marriage clearly hadn't dimmed the love between actress Leslie Mann and filmmaker hubby Judd Apatow at the 2018 SAG Awards, where Leslie stood out on the red carpet in a deliciously jeweled and embroidered dress by Zuhair Murad.

By Hollywood standards, Kyra Sedgwick and husband Kevin Bacon are a golden couple. Married since 1988, the pair have enjoyed a long and mess-free relationship in an age where celebs are together one minute and divorced the next. At the 1996 SAG Awards — where Kevin was nominated for his performances in "Murder in the First" and "Apollo 13" (the latter of which he won, along with his castmates) — the happy pair were caught holding hands on the red carpet in their stylish threads.
