The SAG Awards are smaller in size compared to the Oscars or Golden Globes but can be much more fun for stars with its intimate, mix-and-mingle vibe and an open bar at the afterparty. Ahead of the 26th Screen Actors Guild Awards on Jan. 19, 2020, Wonderwall.com rounded up the best behind-the-scenes photos of celebs letting loose and doing their thing during the show, starting with Ryan Gosling. The "La La Land" actor looked adorably starstruck while schmoozing with Julianne Moore at the 2016 SAG Awards. Keep reading for more of our favorite inside pics from SAG Awards past…

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt — whilst still Hollywood's hottest power couple — made time for some googly-eyed PDA during dinner at the 2008 SAG Awards. Angie, who was nominated for best leading actress for her performance in "A Mighty Heart" that year, filed to divorce Brad in 2016 after two years of marriage.

Girl power! At the 2018 SAG Awards, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern and Nicole Kidman were all nominated in the same category for the same show (best actress on HBO's "Big Little Lies"). But the other ladies were nothing but thrilled when Nicole won and embraced her with a warm group hug.
What happens when a hot TV icon like Jennifer Aniston and a big screen legend like Julia Roberts get seated together at an awards show? Pure magic! The ladies got a chance to catch up at the 2015 SAG Awards, where each scored best actress nods.
No biggie! It's just Meryl Streep casually bumping into pal George Clooney as she walked to her seat at the 2010 SAG Awards. We'd totally greet him with a smile and quick shoulder tap too (not!).
Double the Jennifers, double the trouble! Jennifer Lawrence got some one-on-one girl talk in with Jennifer Garner backstage before winning best actress for her performance in "Silver Linings Playbook" at the 2013 SAG Awards.
Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were Hollywood's favorite movie couple after they heated up the big screen in "A Star is Born." But they kept their professional chemistry at bay with a platonic side hug at the 2019 SAG Awards since they were both in actual relationships at the time (Bradley was dating model Irina Shayk and Gaga was engaged to Christian Carino, though both romances soon ended).
Nothing to see here, folks! It's just a couple of big winners at the 2016 SAG Awards. Leonardo DiCaprio (who won best actor for his work in "The Revenant") and Brie Larson (who won best actress for her performance in "Room") met up backstage after making their acceptance speeches.
We bet you didn't know that Liv Tyler and Jake Gyllenhaal are actually (very) distant cousins! They had a mini family reunion backstage at the 2004 SAG Awards where Liv's movie "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" won for best ensemble cast performance.
Cheers! Matthew McConaughey led his star-studded table — which included wife Camila Alves, co-star Jared Leto and Jennifer Garner — in a toast at the 2014 SAG Awards. They had a couple big reasons to celebrate as Matthew won best actor and Jared won best supporting actor for their work in "Dallas Buyers Club" that year.
There was clearly no divide between stars at the 2001 SAG Awards even if they were nominated in the same category. Kate Hudson and Kate Winslet (both up for best supporting actress) came together for an awesome ladies photo backstage with Whoopi Goldberg and best actress nominee Laura Linney.
There's no telling what we would do to get into this amazing circle of trust! Julianne Moore, Kerry Washington and Jessica Chastain linked up backstage at the 2013 SAG Awards.
It's not every day that you get to see a photobomb like this! Sandra Bullock (who won a statue as part of the ensemble cast of "Crash") snuck her trophy into a photo with pal and best actress nominee Charlize Theron at the 2006 SAG Awards.
Easy, tiger! Jamie Foxx went in for a wet one while saying hello to Helen Mirren (who won a best actress SAG Award for her performance in "The Queen") at the 2007 SAG Awards. Doesn't he know the proper etiquette for greeting royalty?
At the 2014 SAG Awards, Julie Bowen showed off "Modern Family" co-star Sofia Vergara like she was auditioning for Vanna White's job on "Wheel of Fortune." But she really had no need to look for other work — she and Sofia both won statues for best performance by an ensemble cast for their work on the hysterical sitcom that year.
Jonah Hill and Brad Pitt showed us brotherly love at its finest at the 2012 SAG Awards. The "Moneyball" co-stars embraced and shared a little laugh during the show.
"La La Land" actress Emma Stone beat out Emily Blunt for best actress at the 2017 SAG Awards, but there were clearly no hard feelings. The ladies were all smiles inside the Shrine Auditorium in downtown Los Angeles!
"Friends with Benefits" co-stars Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis caught up off screen at the 2011 SAG Awards, though they were both there as nominees for different movies that year. Justin scored a nod for best cast performance in "The Social Network" and Mila was nominated for best supporting actress in "Black Swan."
All this "Friends" photo from the 2003 SAG Awards was missing was the show's iconic purple apartment door in the background (and the guys half of the cast: Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer). The sitcom's starlets — Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow — sat together for dinner though.
Whatever Ben Affleck was trying to tell Bradley Cooper at the 2013 SAG Awards, he sure was passionate about it! Ben (who won along with his "Argo" co-stars for best ensemble cast) waved his hands in the air during a conservation with Bradley during the show.
Three hot Hollywood stars and a country crooner! It might sound like an epic TV show premise, but it's actually just Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman and her husband, Keith Urban, posing for a photo at the 2010 SAG Awards.
John Krasinski and Emily Blunt might be Hollywood's cutest couple! The husband-and-wife team couldn't keep their hands off each other at the 2019 SAG Awards after Emily won a best supporting actress statue for their joint venture, "A Quiet Place."
Sarah Paulson got a little grabby with pal Amanda Peet at the 2014 SAG Awards. She jokingly squeezed her backside during a hug with Matt Damon. We love how unfazed Alfre Woodard looks in the background!
John Travolta moseyed on over to Cate Blanchett's table during a break in the show at the 2008 SAG Awards. We wonder if they've ever played musical chairs?
Tilda Swinton totally lucked out at the 2012 SAG Awards and scored a seat directly next to Angelina Jolie, who was on hand that year to support then-partner Brad Pitt.
Susan Sarandon didn't make a then-pregnant Natalie Portman get up for a hug at the 2011 SAG Awards. After all, Nat already had to walk all the way to the stage to accept her best actress award for "Black Swan."
Amy Adams and Meryl Streep were both nominated (though neither won) for best actress at the 2017 SAG Awards but didn't take the rivalry to heart. They got up from their dinner tables to take a friendly-competition photo.
"Desperate Housewives" stars Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria were all winners at the 2005 SAG Awards. They celebrated their best ensemble cast performance prize with a face-squishing smooch.
