Jennifer Garner has a new boyfriend, plus more celeb love life news for late October 2018

Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the celebrities who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in late October 2018, starting with one of our favorite leading ladies: Us Weekly reported on Oct. 24 that Jennifer Garner is dating businessman John Miller, the 40-year-old CEO of Cali Group, which owns Miso Robotics and a chain of about 50 CaliBurger restaurants. "They've been together six months — and it's getting pretty serious," said one source. "Jen brings out the best in John, and he is the happiest he has probably ever been. It's a loving, healthy relationship," said a second insider. John, who has a son and a daughter from a previous relationship, has reportedly met Jen's three children with Ben Affleck — who, according to Us Weekly, is aware of the new romance and "will always be supportive of any decisions [Jen] makes and ultimately just wants her to be happy." (A People magazine source, however, insisted that Jen and John are only "casually dating," that their relationship is "not serious" and that "he hasn't met her kids.") Us Weekly also reported that John is still legally married to concert violinist Caroline Campbell, from whom he split in 2014 after nine years of marriage. (Like Ben and Jen, they're also waiting for a judge to officially sign off on their divorce.) Meanwhile, Radar Online published excerpts from a 2016 court filing in which Caroline viciously drags her ex: "I believe he feels satisfaction from controlling me and making me pay the price for ending the marriage," the musician allegedly wrote of Jen's new beau. "To avoid scenes, minimize stress on the children, and protect their happy home environment, I usually opt to go along rather than risk John's anger." Caroline went on to say that her estranged husband "thrives on fast-paced, vigorous argument and competition" and that the problems in their relationship are due to "major differences in personalities" and "communication styles." An alleged Jen Garner insider told the webloid that her "pals are really happy Jen is finally moving on after Ben, but they want her to be with someone who will treat her with love and respect." Added the source, "This new guy is an intellectual and obviously a great businessman, but some of the things his ex has said raise a warning flag. … They just hope Jen hasn't been blinded by his charm and good looks." People magazine reported on Oct. 23 that Khloe Kardashian's troubled relationship with Tristan Thompson may be nearing its end. "She very much seems over Tristan," said a source. "Not sure how they went from fine to being apart for weeks, but Khloe is doing great. … She is very much just focused on the happy things in her life. [Her daughter] True, of course, makes her the happiest." Earlier this month, there was some confusion about whether or not the new mom would join her beau in Cleveland, where he plays for the Cavaliers. Ultimately, she decided to stay in Los Angeles. "It doesn't seem to bother her that she isn't with Tristan in Cleveland," said the People source. "She seems to know what she wants in her life right now. And it definitely doesn't seem like she wants to be with Tristan." Meanwhile, an In Touch source said as part of an Oct. 24 report that "Khloe has known for a long time that it's over with Tristan … but she was too afraid to admit it because she didn't want to face being a single mom and lose the family life she's always yearned for." The insider added that there could be a major battle for custody of True if her parents call it quits: "Tristan adores his daughter and wants to be near her and has told [Khloe] he'll fight for custody if he has to," said the source. "He's on the road so much and spends so much time in Cleveland. Khloe wants True to be permanently based in L.A. It's not up for negotiation. … [Kris Jenner] told Khloe they'll hire the best lawyers and spend however much money is necessary to ensure she wins this battle. Kris wants dirt on Tristan so the courts will see he isn't fit to have joint custody and that True is better off being with Khloe full-time."

On Oct. 18 — just three months after announcing their engagement — Karlie Kloss and venture capitalist Joshua Kushner (Jared Kushner's younger brother) tied the knot in an intimate Jewish ceremony in upstate New York with fewer than 80 guests in attendance. According to People magazine, the couple of six years plan to have a larger wedding celebration in the spring.

"Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke seems to have a new man: Charlie McDowell. The director, whose parents are American actress Mary Steenburgen and British actor Malcolm McDowell, previously dated Rooney Mara for years. After celebrating her 32nd birthday on Oct. 23, Emilia posted an Instagram photo that shows two people's shadows on a stretch of sand — the one that looks like hers appears to be getting kissed on the cheek — and captioned it, "Well that was a birthday I won't be forgetting in a while. ❤️." Charlie posted the same shot and captioned his, "Happy birthday, E. ❤️."

Page Six reported on Oct. 20 that Pete Davidson hasn't given up hope that he and Ariana Grande will eventually reconcile following their mid-October breakup. "I talked to Pete a few days ago and he was joking again," blabbed an alleged friend of the funnyman. "He's still in love with Ariana and sees a future with her. … [But] he knows [the breakup] is for the best." Added the pal of Pete, "He's a private dude who feels more at home being on stage doing comedy in small clubs and being around close friends and family. Being in a relationship with Ariana meant jumping into an entirely new world from his. … He would always joke about how he was out of her league — and yeah, he really believed [it]." The friend, who insisted that the duo "were really in love," said that Pete "has been staying with very close friends he considers family" in the wake of the breakup. "Pete has a strong support system," continued the pal, who called the "Saturday Night Live" star "a fighter." Concluded the friend, "As long as he has time and patience, he will be fine. We are talking about someone who has dealt with his father passing away on 9/11 and has battled mental illness. He has been through a lot worse." Meanwhile, TMZ reported on Oct. 22 that in spite of Pete and Ariana's rush to get engaged after just weeks of dating, the pair hadn't made a single move to actually plan their wedding before they called it quits.

On Oct. 23, Us Weekly reported that Halsey and G-Eazy called it quits … again. "They just can't seem to get past their previous issues," said a source, who added that the rapper "was all over other girls publicly at his Halloween party this past weekend." The duo, who reconciled in August after parting ways for the first time in July, also unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Jada Pinkett Smith and husband Will Smith revealed on the Oct. 22 episode of her Facebook series, "Red Table Talk," that she once dated Alfonso Ribeiro, Will's "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" co-star (pictured with his wife, Angela Unkrich). The actress claimed that they "went on one date" but that she couldn't remember the details. (Will chimed in to say he thought Alfonso "took you on a motorcycle or something.") Not long after the episode hit the Internet, Alfonso took to Twitter to set the record straight: "Sorry Jada. Your memory is a little off. We went to lunch with your family when we both guest starred on 'A Different World' the year before you became a regular," he tweeted. Jada hilarious responded, "my fault Alf… I thought it was a date." But that wasn't the only major revelation from this week's "Red Table Talk." (More on that later!)

Mena Suvari confirmed to Us Weekly on Oct. 21 that she secretly married Michael Hope earlier this year. "It's great. I'm really happy. We're happy. … Third time's a charm," said the actress, who's been married twice before. Though she didn't reveal when exactly they tied the knot, the "American Pie" star described the ceremony as "very intimate" and "very beautiful." Said Mena, "I had my closest friends with me. It was very meaningful. After all these years, sort of having ups and downs, it's very nice just being settled, especially at this point in my life." Gushed the newlywed of her hubby, "He's a really great guy. … I got me a Canadian. Old school, really considerate, old fashioned. I'm like, 'Who are you?'" The duo reportedly connected after meeting on the set of the 2016 Hallmark movie "I'll Be Home for Christmas," in which she starred. (He worked in the art department.) Mena sparked rumors that they'd tied the knot in August when she took to Instagram to share a photo of herself and her man wearing white while walking along a tree-lined dirt path, which she captioned, "Forever finally found us…"

Orlando Bloom is "ready to settle down" with back-on love Katy Perry, a source told People magazine as part of an Oct. 22 report. "She hasn't put any pressure on their relationship lately, and everything is just easy. Being with Katy makes Orlando very happy. … In the past, he seemed so scattered and unwilling to settle down. He is like a new person now and everyone is excited for him." Continued the insider, "Orlando is in a different place than he was last year. … He has matured a lot. He realized that being single isn't that great after all. His relationship with Katy wasn't right the first time around, but it very much is now." The duo took a break for about a year between early 2017 and early 2018.

"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Camille Grammer and lawyer David C. Meyer, who started dating in 2016 and got engaged in 2017, tied the knot at a private beach club in Hawaii on Oct. 20. According to People magazine, several of the bride's Bravo co-stars attended the nuptials, including Teddi Mellencamp, Dorit Kemsley and Lisa Rinna. Kyle Richards and Camille's daughter, Mason Grammer, served as bridesmaids, while the bride's son, Jude Grammer, walked her down the aisle. "This is my next chapter. … I'm so excited to start our life together," Camille told People.

On Oct. 23, just a week after Leah Messer gushed about boyfriend Jason Jordan during an interview with Us Weekly, the same outlet reported that they called it quits. "It just wasn't working," said a source. "They're just not a good fit."

On Oct. 20, Hafthór Björnsson, who portrays The Mountain on "Game of Thrones, and Kelsey Henson took to Instagram to announce that they'd tied the knot in the groom's native Iceland. "It is with great pleasure that I now get to call Kelsey Morgan Henson my wife!❤️ I get to hold this beautiful woman through thick and thin for the rest of our lives! I'm so excited for all of the future adventures we will tackle side by side," the actor captioned a photo of himself carrying his new missus. "Looking forward to pulling this big guy around for the rest of my life. ♥️ @thorbjornsson I love you now and forever and promise to stand by your side through all that life throws at us. I love you baby," the bride captioned another shot from their nuptials. The duo reportedly met in 2017 at the bar where Kelsey waitressed in her native Canada and started seeing each other after she asked the "GoT" star for a photo.

An Oct. 18 Los Angeles Times profile of Bella Thorne shed light on the former child star's home life with her boyfriend, Mod Sun, and her girlfriend, Tana Mongeau. Though the singer-actress has never officially confirmed that she's polyamorous, the article makes it clear that Bella is in relationships with both the rapper and the YouTube personality, who were both on hand during her 21st birthday celebration in Las Vegas in early October. (Bella was first linked to both Mod Sun and Tana in 2017.)

During an interview with People magazine that hit the Internet on Oct. 24, Michelle Williams revealed that she briefly broke up with her fiancé, pastor Chad Johnson, just weeks after he proposed earlier this year. The split went down during a rough patch in the singer's battle with depression, for which she sought treatment over the summer. Michelle told People she tried to push Chad away: "I would've understood [if he left]," she said. "He's been praying for a wife. He didn't pray for a depressed wife." But he wouldn't budge. "Some of the things said and done were very hurtful," said Chad. "But I was like, 'I don't even want to talk about what happened. Get well and we can work on us later.'" And so they did! The duo are now back on track with the help of therapy. "People fall off the fitness wagon, people fall of the wellness wagon, but I can't fall off the [therapy] wagon," said the Destiny's Child alum. "I have to get healed to live this happy life. … It's not just about marrying Chad. I finally found someone to do life with."

Page Six reported on Oct. 22 that "Transparent" creator Jill Soloway and "Nanette" comedian Hannah Gadsby have been dating since the summer — and things are getting serious. "Jill recently went to Australia to meet Hannah's family," said a source, adding that the pair "don't want people to know they are a couple" because they're "very private." During an Oct. 16 TimesTalk, the duo — who've been touring and doing talks together as part of Jill's promotional duties for her new memoir, "She Wants It: Desire, Power, and Toppling the Patriarchy" — dished on how they first clicked: "We realized yes, we both have a lot of things in common that we like to talk about that generally annoy other people," said Jill. "I think it overwhelms people. It was nice to meet someone who in the course of small talk, you are talking about consent," chimed in Hannah. "Rage, patriarchy, consent before the coffee comes," fired back Jill.

There's a new woman in Louis C.K.'s life. The controversial comedian was photographed holding hands with actress Blanche Gardin in New York City on Oct. 23. (See the photos here).

Tamar Braxton is anxious to put her marriage to Vincent Herbert behind her. The Blast reported on Oct. 22 that the singer, who has a new boyfriend, is asking a judge to grant her a default judgment in their divorce case because her ex hasn't responded to her petition to legally end their union. (Vince had 30 days to respond after his estranged missus, who first filed for divorce in October 2017, served him with divorce papers on Sept. 6.)

During an Oct. 22 interview with People magazine, Rosie O'Donnell confirmed rumors that she and 33-year-old Massachusetts policewoman Elizabeth Rooney are engaged, adding that their wedding will be "a long time in the future" because they "both decided that that would be best." (She told "Extra" on the same day that they got engaged "a while ago and everybody found out now.") The actress gushed of her fiancée, "She's very much an equal, she's very much her own person and loves what she does. She's a pretty unbelievable young woman. … She lives in Boston now and I live here in New York. It's been a long-distance thing. It's been great. I think she's a wonderful woman." Rosie also joked about their 23-year age difference, saying that fans often confuse Elizabeth for the funnywoman's 20-year-old daughter, Chelsea: "A lot of people say, 'Oh my God, Chelsea looks so great.' I'm like, 'That's not Chelsea. That's my soon-to-be spouse,'" she said. "It's a little tricky. In the airport people say, 'Rosie, can I have a picture of you and your daughter?' She doesn't seem to think it's an issue at all. Nobody ever does, but I do sometimes. I was already on 'Star Search' by the time you were born. … I keep telling her I'm too old for her. But she doesn't seem to care. She's like, 'I was in the Army! I put my life on the line every day you think I don't know who I want to date?' I'm like, 'Alright I guess that's true.' She has a lot of good points."

Still going strong! On Oct. 22, People.com published photos of Lily-Rose Depp and Timothee Chalamet, who were first linked on Oct. 1, kissing in the rain during an outing in New York City on Oct. 11. The duo reportedly connected earlier this year on the set of the upcoming Netflix drama "The King."

Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson, who still haven't address their rumored relationship, were photographed holding hands in New York City on Oct. 17, 2018 — once again making a case for the fact that they're more than friends. (See the photos here.)

On Oct. 20 — three months after rumors that they're more than friends first surfaced — Wiz Khalifa and Winnie Harlow confirmed they're dating by holding hands on their way into a Lakers basketball game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

On the Oct. 22 episode of "Red Table Talk," Will Smith detailed how he and Jada Pinkett Smith got together after he saw her on an episode of "A Different World" and asked "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" co-star Alfonso Ribeiro to set them up. "When I saw you in 'A Different World' … I knew that there was something in our energy that would be magic," he recalled to Jada. But the night that Will visited the set of "A Different World" to meet Jada, he ended up meeting his first wife, Sheree Zampino, who was sitting in the studio audience. It wasn't until after Will got married that he and Jada truly connected. ("We did not have an affair," they both insisted.) The "Independence Day" star then detailed a night that he broke down in tears in the bathroom of a Hollywood restaurant during dinner with Sheree because he'd realized that he "wasn't with the person I was supposed to be with." Said Will, "I knew [Jada] was the woman I was supposed to be with, but I was never getting divorced. I don't get divorced." Eventually, he got over his attraction to Jada and moved on with his life …. until Sheree filed for divorce because she didn't love him anymore. (Even then, he didn't want to get divorced, he said, though he eventually succumbed to Sheree's wishes.) Will called Jada almost immediately after he signed the divorce papers, and even though she'd left Los Angeles, she moved back to be with him. Then she got pregnant (with son Jaden Smith). "I really didn't want to get married. … I never wanted to be married," Jada claimed later in the episode, saying that she got pressured into having a big wedding by her mom. Everyone then described the wedding as "horrible" because Jada was dealing with intense morning sickness at the time. "I was so upset that I had to have a wedding. I was so pissed. I went crying down the freaking aisle. I cried the whole way down the aisle," she said. (Will, meanwhile, said, "There wasn't a day in my life that I wanted anything other than being married and having a family.") Jada went on to say that she "never really agreed with the construct" of marriage. "It's just all of the rules … because of this title, 'wife,' the accepted conventional definition of wife and the paradigm. I'm not that," she said. The couple also dished on how they handle arguments and discontent in their relationship (they don't curse at each other), how they talk for hours every morning and how they demand the best versions of each other. But it hasn't always been a cakewalk…

On the Oct. 22 episode of "Red Table Talk," Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith also opened up about a rough patch in their marriage around the time the actress turned 40 in 2011. "There was a period when [Jada] woke up and cried 45 days straight. … It was every morning," said the "Men in Black" star. "I think that's the worst I've ever felt in our marriage. I was failing miserably, but on the outside, I was winning." Will went on to say that a huge issue between them was the house they built together — he thought he was building it for her when really he was building it to complete his fantasy of the perfect family life: "I had a picture and a public perception that I wanted to project of our relationship, of the family … and what we are in the world," he said, adding that there were times when he felt like Jada was ungrateful. (Later, he recalled a time when daughter Willow Smith — then just 9 years old — told Jada, "It's so sad … Daddy has a picture of a family in his mind and it's not us.") Eventually the A-lister learned to see things from Jada's perspective. "Jada is an actress but she had two babies and she had to be home to raise her babies while I got to do everything I wanted to do. She was sacrificing herself to fit my picture, but my life wasn't really disrupted in the least," he said. "I'd been trying to live up to an expectation for Will," chimed in the actress. "And you were trapped in a life that you didn't build that you didn't want," added Will. "But I had to come to the understanding that I allowed myself to have [that life]," continued the "Girls Trip" star, who said that she was afraid to rock the boat because of the kids and because her husband is "a force to be reckoned with." Said Jada, "There's a lot of stuff that you let slide and go past that angers you and you get resentment but you don't change it because you're scared. … I think for me the turning point in our relationship for me happened when I turned 40. … I was just like, 'I can't do this like this anymore.'" A tease for the next episode of "Red Table Talk" then showed Will saying, "We broke up. … I was devastated even worse than a divorce."

It's been more than two years since Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham got engaged, but they're in no rush to tie the knot, the model-actress told "Extra" on Oct. 16. "I think the time will come. We've been so focused on our work for so long, and [our son] Jack came along. We definitely talk about it, we're looking forward to that time, it's also not a huge priority for us, we're so happy," she said. "I think it will be fun to do it when the baby's grown up a bit and he can be involved in the wedding."

During an Oct. 19 interview with Us Weekly, Rebecca Gayheart dished on co-parenting her two daughters with ex-husband Eric Dane, whom she filed to divorce in February after 14 years of marriage. "We're doing our best. It isn't easy. … But we are trying and we are committed," she said, adding that there are "so many things" that make co-parenting difficult. The actress also dished on setting an example of the strong, independent woman for her little girls: "I think that as a female you need to be able to always take care of yourself and never depend on a man," she said. "I'm going back to work and I think it's partly because I want my daughters to see me work. I took some time off to have my kids."

In late October, John Mayer took to his Instagram Story to overshare about his sex life, admitting that he's slept with around 500 women, including one lucky lady who asked him to sing some of his songs to her as they did the deed. "If it's after a show and a girl asks, sing 'Your Body is a Wonderland,' do you want to be the kind of guy who goes, 'No,' or do you want to be the kind of guy that goes, like, 'We've got the afternoon…?' You want to play along," he said, adding that he "probably used my music to hook up a few times, but that doesn't mean it's any less from the heart." He also claimed to be relieved that he's no longer considered a hot commodity among famous women. "I saw Scarlett Johansson, and I said to myself for the first time in my life with the clearest of voices, 'She wants nothing to do with you.' And I found that really relieving. … I don't think that people are into the idea of, like, 'I snagged John Mayer,'" he said. "I find people not being into me brings a real level of reality into my life, whereas when I was in my early 20s where I really couldn't miss, I kind of abused that," he continued, adding that a girl recently told him, "I probably won't use it," after he gave her his phone number. John also admitted that he's slowed down in the love department in recent years: "I think being a famous man is somewhat similar to being a beautiful woman, which means, yes, there is access [to hooking up], [but] there's very seldom any desire," he said. "The older I get, the less desirous I am about unsheathing new body parts."

On the Oct. 22 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Sarah Silverman opened up about what she's looking for in a man: "First of all, I like a masculine man, but he has to be a feminist — that contrast is very hot to me," she said. "I want someone age appropriate," she continued. "People keep trying to fix me up with men much younger than me, and I know it's flattering to go, 'You can go out with someone younger than you.' I think that's lovely for people. I don't want that. I want someone that can commiserate with the aches and pains of our age. … Let me just say one last thing: oral hygiene. Oh, and [he has to be] kind!" Sarah and Ellen then played a game of "Tinder Live" — during which the actress-comic swiped left or right on some of Hollywood's hottest men. At the end of the game, she'd narrowed down her pool of celebrity crushes to Drake and John Cena — passing on several men because they were too young or because they're comedians.
