Kim Kardashian reveals Chicago wasn't her first choice for a baby name
In the same spirit as Kris Jenner, who gave all her daughters names that start with the letter "k," Kim Kardashian West was planning to bestow monosyllabic names on her children. As the mother of three told Ellen DeGeneres this week, that plan was on track during the naming process for North West, 4, and Saint West, 2. It got derailed, however, with the arrival of her newest addition. "We were gonna name her Jo because my grandma Mary Jo or we were gonna go with Grace," Kim explained (via the Daily Mail), "and then it was Chicago." Ellen seemed confused. "When I was pitching names you said you wanted one syllable," the show host said. "And I did," Kim replied "So … Chicago is not one syllable," Ellen pointed out. "Yeah, it kind of messes with me, I'm not gonna lie. I really like the one syllable thing," Kim admitted. When Ellen stated the obvious — that Chicago must have come from Kim husband, Kanye West, who was raised in the Windy City, Kim seemed a little defeated. "I don't even know …," she said, her voice trailing off. "Obviously because he's from Chicago but that is a place that made him. And a place that he remembers his family from." In the end, Kim said she thought Chicago was "cool and different" as a name. And she didn't totally lose the one-syllable battle, either — the couple calls their youngest daughter "Chi" (pronounced "shy") for short.

Paris Hilton on her leaked sex tape: 'It was like being raped'
When Paris Hilton was 19, she and her sister were introduced to the world in a sexy Vanity Fair photo shoot. From there, Paris landed one of the first reality TV shows, "The Simple Life," with Nicole Richie and her star power began to rise. She's equally famous for the sex tape she made with Rick Salomon that leaked just before the show launched, though. In "The American Meme," a new film about social media stars that premiered last week at the Tribeca Film Festival, Paris, now 37, gets candid about her career path — and about the sex tape. "It was like being raped," she says at one point, according to USA Today. "It felt like I'd lost part of my soul and been talked about in such cruel and mean ways. I literally wanted to die at some points. I was like, 'I just don't want to live,' because I thought everything was taken away from me. I didn't want to be known as that." During a Q&A after the screening, Paris explained: "I felt like the world was introduced to me through 'The Simple Life.' There was no reality television back then, so it was very new. There was no social media, so I basically created this character that was basically what I thought the audience wanted, like, 'Oh, she's rich, so she needs to be a spoiled airhead' — basically what the producers told me to do." She added that director Bert Marcus encouraged her to participate in the film because in his mind, she's "the O.G. of all this," meaning she was in some ways the first social media star. "I really trusted him and was very vulnerable about things I had never spoken about before, and basically just wanted to show the real me, because I don't think I ever have before," she said. Though she admits in the film she feels like she's "been 21 for two decades," she told the Tribeca audience that she was looking forward to building a new life with her fiance , Chris Zylka. "I'm very excited for the next phase of my life and to start a family and find true happiness," she said. "Because yes, this is so much fun — I love what I'm doing, it's great being in Ibiza every summer DJing until eight in the morning — but sometimes it gets a little tiring. I'm still going to continue being the girl boss I am, but I'm also going to be a mom, and I can't wait for that day."

Beyonce and JAY-Z sit courtside for Game 1 of the Pelicans vs. Warriors playoff series
When the Golden State Warriors took on the New Orleans Pelicans in Game 1 of their NBA playoff series on Saturday, April 28, the Warriors had some famous fans in their midst. Beyonce, wearing a curve-hugging white dress, oversized white jacket and strappy white heels, sat courtside for the game with her all-black clad husband, JAY-Z. Bey later shared a few photos from the evening on Instagram, including one that showed the sea of yellow t-shirts supporting the Warriors at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, alongside a pic from Bey's Coachella performance — in which she's surrounded by her dancers, all of whom were wearing a similar shade of yellow. The Warriors ultimately defeated the Pelicans, 123 to 101.

Justin Bieber visits exhibit devoted to him in his hometown
Stratford, Ontario, native Justin Bieber surprised the staff at the Stratford Perth Museum last week when he stopped by to check out "Steps to Stardom," an exhibit devoted to Justin featuring memorabilia from his childhood and teenage years, as well as microphones, backstage credentials and other items related to his ascent to pop stardom. Speaking to Global News, the museum's general manager, John Kastner, said he got a text message from Justin's grandparents, who helped secure much of the contents of the exhibit, on Friday, April 27. "[The text] said, 'We're just having breakfast. Can we drop by?' And I said, 'Sure,"' John recalled. "Reception called and said, 'Justin's grandparents are here and they have somebody with them' – and I went downstairs and there was Justin Bieber." The singer reportedly came without an entourage and left after about 45 minutes. Unfortunately for local Beliebers, there were only a couple of people in the exhibit at the time. A group of 200 students had just left the premises before Justin and his relatives arrived. The exhibit opened Feb. 18 and is slated to run through the end of the year.

Motherhood's more fun with bling. Before renting out Six Flags Magic Mountain for a birthday party for her boyfriend, Travis Scott, over the weekend, Kylie Jenner made a pitstop at Polacheck's Jewelers in Calabasas, California. When the new mom emerged, E! News reports her hands were dripping in diamonds, courtesy of what appeared to be new rings and a new Rolex watch. Despite some whispers that one of the rings on her left hand indicated Travis might have popped the question, E! notes Kylie regularly wears rings on her left ring finger — and isn't likely to pick up her own engagement ring from a store.
Ashley Judd shares an open letter to sexual assault survivors
This year, the Tribeca Film Festival devoted a day of panels and presentations to issues around sexual harassment and assault. Ashley Judd, who has been vocal about her own experience being raped, was among the speakers on Saturday, April 28. According to Page Six, the actress read an open letter about healing that she'd written to survivors of sexual assault. "We can heal," Ashley said, reading the letter aloud. "That has been my experience." Describing a time when she was raped in high school, she shared that she had no memory of the crime, which took place in a store near her home and was later reported to the police by someone else. "Healing is our birthright," Ashley declared. "It was not our birthright to be sexually harassed or assaulted or raped … (but) it is our birthright to know in our bones that it wasn't our fault. We humans hurt each other and sometimes we hurt ourselves, but we can make decisions and take actions that free us." In closing, she advised survivors to let "our rage become our strength, our energy and our motivation, adding: "What was depression becomes expression," she said, "and self-pity and help are transformed into dignity, integrity and courage. There will still be the hard days … but we know our preciousness and our fierceness. Healing … is our birthright." The event, co-hosted by the festival and Time's Up, also featured appearances by #MeToo founder Tarana Burke, and actresses Lupita Nyong'o, Mira Sorvino, Julianne Moore, Sienna Miller and Mariska Hargitay.
Jason Wahler announces he relapsed
Former "Laguna Beach" star Jason Wahler, who opened a sober living facility last year after going to rehab, announced over the weekend that he has relapsed. "My name is Jason and I'm an alcoholic-addict," he wrote on Instagram on Sunday, April 29. "I have 39 days of sobriety after being active in my addiction for the past three + years; before that, I had four years of sobriety. Working in the field of recovery is something I love; I'm passionate about it. However, I became complacent and I was blindsided," he admitted. "I am beyond embarrassed. At first I was full of shame and guilt, but I am learning to forgive and move forward. I can only hope my pain will be someone else's gain and I will continue to live one day at a time. The truth is this: I relapsed, I surrendered and I am getting help." The 31-year-old went on to explain he hoped his announcement would help others in a similar position. "I am reaching out to those who would hear and those who need help the most," he wrote. "If you are active in your addiction, if you are lost or isolated, if your sense of self-worth is as low as mine was, take my hand," he wrote. "We are each a link in a chain and together we are stronger. Surrender. Don't be afraid to start over. You are worth it." Jason married his then-girlfriend Ashley Slack in 2013; they share an 8-year-old daughter.

Evan Rachel Wood, 1, troll, zilch. The Westworld" star caught wind of a nasty tweet about her that was apparently posted as the show aired over the weekend. "Why is Dolores still the only 'robot' on #Westworld without a personality? Oh. I know why. It's because @evanrachelwood can't actually act anything but 2 emotions," the initial tweet read. When fans stood up for Evan, the Twitter user shot back: "I see @evanrachelwood's fans hate me now. 😢🙄. I hope she doesn't hate me though. I don't hate her. I just want her to do better." Enter Evan herself. "Hmm," she replied. "Maybe you should put on the corset in 113 degree weather, spend time away from your family, risk your life on horse-back, cry at the drop of a hat and relive your traumas over and over and over, be dragged and beaten till all hours of the night, sacrifice your childhood … to work and take acting classes 5 times a week, and work your entire life fighting through criticism and sexism to make it on this show, THEN show me how its done." She didn't stop there. "Oh and while you're at it, take off all your clothes and sit here for 6 hours in perfect posture too," she added. "So I am just gonna keep doing what I'm doing because its working out pretty good for me and I throughly enjoy it. Byyyyyeeeeeeee! 😎✌🏻" As an Evan fan commenting on the whole exchange put it, "Never mess with her. 😁😁." Probably sage advice.
Juror reveals why he found Bill Cosby guiltyin sexual assault retrial
For at least one of the jurors who handled Bill Cosby's sexual assault retrial, it was the comic's own deposition from 2005 made it impossible not to find him guilty of drugging and molesting Andrea Constand in 2004, according to TMZ. In an appearance on "Good Morning America" on Monday, April 30, juror Harrison Snyder said he went into the trial knowing nothing about the 60 women who have accused Cosby of assaulting them. But when he heard Cosby admit in the 13-year-old deposition that he'd given Constand pills and then proceeded to have sexual relations with her — he described them as consensual — the verdict was a done deal for Snyder. Cosby was found guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault. He faces up to 30 years in prison.
Bob Dylan is launchign a whiskey line
"You don't always find inspiration. Sometimes it finds you." That's how Bob Dylan summed up his decision to launch a whiskey line in a statement to The Guardian this week. Dubbed "Heaven's Door Spirits," named after his song, "Knocking on Heaven's Door," the whiskeys are a collaborative effort with Marc Bushala, according to Page Six, and will include bourbon, a double barrel whiskey and a straight rye, all of which will be manufactured in a Tennessee distillery that was once a church. "We wanted to create a collection of American whiskeys that would each tell a story," the singer explained. Marc Bushala cautioned that Bob plans to be low-key about his connection to the whiskeys. "He didn't sell out," Marc said. "This is his brand, and it's his idea. We just helped him do what he wanted to do. Bob does not want to be face man of the brand and he does not want the packaging to scream 'Dylan.'" Though the singer's signature will appear on the back of the label, so that it's only visible once the bottle is empty, Marc said Bob won't do any public appearances in connection with the launch. "He was willing to do that, but he's not going to appearances or bottle signings. He didn't even pick up his Nobel prize, so he's not going to go out touting this," Marc said. "And that's great because it's authentic for Dylan and authentic for the brand."
