Gwyneth Paltrow 'adores' Dakota Johnson

For Gwyneth Paltrow, including Dakota Johnson in her family simply makes sense. "I love her," Gwyneth said of her ex's girlfriend in a new cover story from Harper's Bazaar. "I can see how it would seem weird because it's sort of unconventional. But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her," she said. Indeed, Gwyneth, 47, and Chris, 42, who "consciously uncoupled" in 2014, have raised eyebrows with news of their shared vacations with Dakota and Gwyneth's husband Brad Falchuk. Gwyneth was even reported to have "pushed" Chris to get back together with the 30-year-old actress after the two split briefly last year. "I always start to think of the ampersand sign — what else can you bring in, instead of being resistant to or being made insecure by?" Gwyneth added. "There's so much juice in leaning in to something like that." Dakota, 30, was first linked to the Coldplay singer in October 2017, while Gwyneth and Brad tied the knot in 2018, but didn't move in together until the fall of 2019, a decision they've said was about making sure their kids were comfortable with the change. Joking to Bazaar that the move means the couple's "sex life is over," Gwyneth also delved into the advantages of living separately after marrying Brad. "I thought it was really interesting how resonant that was for people. One of my best friends was like, 'That is my dream. Don't ever move in,'" she recalled. "I think it certainly helps with preserving mystery and also preserving the idea that this person has their own life. So this is something I'm trying to remain aware of now as we merge together." As for her close relationship with Chris in the wake of their marriage? "It's not like there's a finish line," Gwyneth said, adding that she and Chris have "learned to communicate with each other" and still love one another. "We have the best of each other," she said. "It's really nice. It makes you feel like you don't have to lose."

Selena Gomez got stung by a Portuguese man o' war on New Year's Day

Selena Gomez is unlikely to forget how she rang in the new decade, thanks to the nasty sting she got while vacationing in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Jan. 1. TMZ published photos and videos a few days later that showed the singer struggling on the beach after being stung by what's believed to have been a Portuguese man o' war (think jellyfish on steroids). Despite its jellyfish-like appearance, the carnivorous, tentacled sea creature is technically a colony of small, venomous animals that work as a group to attack prey. When they sting humans, the experience is usually excruciating, according to National Geographic. Video on TMZ shows Selena limping across the sand from the water with girlfriends helping her as she winced on New Year's Day. Other photos suggested she made a quick recovery, though — she was even smiling as a pap caught her getting a piggyback ride so she could get off her injured foot. She has plenty to smile about, of course. Selena's due to release "Rare" at the end of the week. The album will be her first full-length since 2015's "Revival."

Ariel Winter has reportedly moved on from Levi Meaden with Luke Benward

The romance rumors that hit Ariel Winter and "Dumplin'" star Luke Benward last month are 100 percent true. That's according to Us Weekly, which reports Ariel, 21, and 24-year-old Luke have been dating since December. "Ariel is really happy with Luke and thinks he is a great match for her," a source told the outlet this week. "She loves his energy and charisma and feels very comfortable around him. Ariel is trying to keep her relationship with Luke somewhat private and isn't telling a ton of people that they're dating, but they are." The couple has hardly been hiding their interest in one another, though. They reportedly attended the InStyle and Warner Bros. Golden Globes afterparty together on Sunday, Jan. 5. Earlier that day a selfie Ariel captioned, "Felt cute today ☺️🐰 NOT as cute as baby yoda but that's okay because that amount of cute is UNOBTAINABLE," earned public praise from Luke. "Told ya," he wrote, "you wayyyyyy cuter 😏." Ariel split from her boyfriend of three years, Levi Meaden, in the fall.

Katharine McPhee says goodbye to 'Waitress' in an emotional post

After spending much of the past two years starring in "Waitress" on Broadway and in London's West End, Katharine McPhee shared an emotional goodbye with her Instagram followers before taking the stage one last time as Jenna in New York City on Sunday, Jan. 5. Like the song 'Everything Changes' at the end of the show — so much of my life has changed during the course of my time here on Broadway and also during the time in which I had the incredible honor to open the show in London. I will always cherish my time here, both on and off the stage," Katharine captioned a photo that showed her getting into costume at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. She went to describe how different her life became while she was working on "Waitress," and how one constant has been the inspiration she draws from the story. "I fell deeply in love with this show; I fell in love with my then-boyfriend and later got engaged during this show; I lost my father during this show; I lost my voice in between doing the show; and then I got married during this show," she wrote. "There have been so many highs and lows, and yet every night, coming to the theatre to tell this story has never failed me." Before signing off, she wrote, "I have always been inspired and moved by it, by the people around me, and by the people in those seats. May we all be so lucky. Thank you all, so much. 💙." Among the well-wishers who congratulated the star in the comments were celebs like Lea Thompson, Marilu Henner and Zach Posen, according to People. Katharine, who married the aforementioned "boyfriend" David Foster, last year, made her Broadway debut in "Waitress" in 2018 before starring in the show in London. On the heels of news Miley Cryus reached a settlement in a $300 million copyright infringement suit comes news Katy Perry's legal team is asking for a retrial after being hit with a $2.78 million judgment regarding her song, "Dark Horse." Billboard reports lawyers representing Katy, Dr. Luke and their collaborators are slamming the decision as a "travesty of justice," saying attorneys for Christian rapper Flame didn't prove their client's 2008 song "Joyful Noise" was even available to the production team accused of stealing parts of the song for "Dark Horse." Katy's lawyers have reportedly asked for either a retrial or for the court to toss the jury's decision. The two sides of been going back and forth on the lawsuit for years, with music industry experts asserting the "landmark case" could have far-reaching impacts for other copyright suits.

Khloe Kardashian slammed for fur use after Australia post

Khloe Kardashian ended up on the outs with an Instagram user this week who slammed the reality star as hypocritical for posting about the "500 million animals" scientists estimate have been killed by the fires in Australia. On her Instagram Story, Khloe cited the environmental ravages of the ongoing fires then said, "the world needs to wake up." The message sparked a fan to call Khloe out for seeming to worry about the animals given her Cruella DeVil Halloween costume, which featured what looked like a fur coat, according to E! News. Khloe clapped back: "I am wearing a Halloween costume. It's not real fur. But keep spreading your vile hate instead of focusing on real issues. Why must people assume and attack others so quickly? You have some clear frustrations darling and they are completely misdirected. My advice to you would be, don't attack people in general. But if you choose to waste your energy on attacking a complete stranger, then at least know all of your information prior. Happy 2020." The clapback may have been premature, though. The fan responded to Khloe's comments by sharing screenshots in which the designer appeared to confirm the stole, if not more of the costume, was made of real fur. "Why all the lies @khloekardashian? This is your stole's designer's post proving this is real fur!" wrote the user. Khloe has reportedly deleted her comments and blocked the user from accessing her Instagram. Khloe and her sisters were previously criticized for allegedly not donating to rescue efforts in Australia. Kim and Khloe have both hinted that they don't necessarily discuss all of their donations on social media.

Jennifer Lopez's production company faces $40M suit from the real-life woman behind her 'Hustlers' character

As Jennifer Lopez enjoys her awards season nominations for "Hustlers," Samantha Barbash, the strip club host whose real-life story inspired the movie, is suing J.Lo's production company. Samantha claims she never gave consent to use her likeness or experiences in the film, according to TMZ. The website previously reported she was offended at the "lowball" offer producers initially floated. She also claims she was defamed by "Hustlers," which shows Jennifer's character "using and manufacturing illegal substances in her home where she lived with her child," which Samantha says never happened. She's reportedly suing for $40 million and is demanding producers give her "all copies of the movie," according to the website.

Nearly a year after Beth Chapman's death, Duane Chapman is reportedly dating Moon Angell. His daughter, Lyssa Chapman, is not happy about the move, to say the least. On Monday, Jan. 6, she tweeted that Moon previously dated her brother and implied she was only after the reality TV family's cash. "If someone who met your family by dating your brother, tried to date your father after your step- mom died what would you do?" she posted (via Page Six). "If you went to your mothers closet and saw she moved all her clothes and replaced them with her own, what would you do? #ItsNotWhenOrWhyItsWho." She added, "My dad is a GROWN A– MAN. His money. His dynasty. But you can guarantee that my name is not going down in history as a person who supported this." The tweets appeared to have been follow-ups to sick Emojis Lyssa tweeted and later deleted in the comments below a photo of Moon and her father. Beth died at age 51 in July.
