Last year, Kendall Jenner's Vogue India cover sparked backlash on social media from readers who felt an Indian or South Asian model would have been a more appropriate choice. This week, the magazine revealed Kim Kardashian West covers its March 2018 issue — and social media is already blowing up with similarly negative responses. In a series social media posts republished by Fox News, one user pointed out that most of the people who worked on the shoot were not Indian, which seemed to that person like a missed opportunity to "showcase Indian talent to the world," while others asked questions like, "how hard is it to have Indian women represent Indian culture?" A third noted that given India's Bollywood industry, "plenty of talented Bollywood actresses" could have been selected if Vogue wanted to go with a pop culture cover star. Another questioned why someone who called Indian food "disgusting" on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" a few years ago was now on the cover of an Indian magazine. (Kim apologized for the comment at the time, posting on her website, "In NO way was [my comment] intended as an insult to the Indian people or their culture. This is just my own personal taste.") It didn't seem to help matters that Kim was pictured in a traditional lahenga skirt inside the magazine. Last year, Vogue responded to Kendall's backlash with a statement citing that "statistically, 90% of our covers" have starred people of Indian descent. "India has given the world so many beautiful faces to admire," the magazine wrote in an online statement, adding, "… we are Vogue, an international brand, and we want to give the love back by featuring some of the best international celebrities on over covers. Occasionally!" According to Vogue, the cover was shot in Los Angeles. "The saris, the jewelery, the clothes — everything was so beautiful!" Kim said of the shoot. "I told my show that we have to figure out how to get to India."

In the U.K., royal news like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's upcoming wedding is big business — and not just for the people involved in producing the event. Amid online chatter about which designer might be hired to create Meghan's gown, British gamblers are putting money on some of the rumored labels. That could give the rest of the world a tip as the former "Suits" star comes closer to announcing her decision. According to the Daily Mail, bookies had been seeing the most popular bets land on Ralph and Russo, Erdem, Roland Mouret and the Queen's dressmaker Stewart Parvin. Suddenly, it seems the tide has changed in favor of Alexander McQueen. A rep for the online betting company Paddy Power tells the Mail: "Our traders have been inundated with bets for McQueen to be the designer of Meghan's dress [on Tuesday] morning. So much so they've had to suspend the betting. Either someone sneaky knows something, or there's plenty of shrewd punters who are up on their fashion knowledge." At least one other major company has suspended betting on Alexander McQueen for the same reason, according to the Mail. Duchess Kate wore a Sarah Burton-designed McQueen gown when she married Prince William in 2011.

Katy Perry: 'I'm preparing to do a big soul overhaul'

With "American Idol: Reboot" set to premiere March 11 and performances like her recent surprise set at a fundraiser for Montecito mudslide first responders, Katy Perry has plenty on her plate lately. As she explains in the new issue of Glamour, that's how she likes it. Well, I love routine. I feel very out of sorts without routine, and the devil is sort of my playground when I don't have it," she says. "Every day is just a preparation for the show. Sleep is really important to me. I'm a big sleeper. I get eight to nine hours every night. Nine to 10 hours, actually. I eat about four meals — or four and a half meals — a day. I'm constantly eating." Those meals, she adds, are sugar and dairy free and prepared by her chef. She also makes lots of time for yoga each morning, a quick wake-up workout on the ellipitical and meditation in the afternoon. "Transcendental meditation has been a game changer for me. We're all so "connected" to our devices, which, I think, is disconnecting us from reality," she says. That's not Katy's only internal focus these days. "I'm preparing to do a big soul overhaul very soon that I'm nervous about. I want to emotionally elevate myself. I don't want to hold on to childhood trauma anymore. I want to grow into becoming an adult. I'm preparing myself for having a family of my own someday. And that's the thing: I want to do a little bit more soul surgery before I have a family of my own so that I don't transfer any of those lingering feelings," she says. "I'm about to go heavy into that emotional process, and I'm nervous, but I don't think I have a choice anymore. This last year has been about killing my ego, which has been really necessary for my career. But for my personal life, it doesn't work that way. If I want to have that true balance, I have to step into being Katheryn Hudson."

Ellen DeGeneres reveals dedication to Jimmy Kimmel's son, Billy

Tear-jerk alert — you have been warned! Ellen DeGeneres' habit of doing nice things for her guests in turn have a habit of inducing the ol' waterworks for her viewers. Jimmy Kimmel — with his recent candid discussions about his young son, Billy's heart surgeries, as well as the state of health care and gun laws in America — has had a similar effect on emotion-prone "Jimmy Kimmel Live" fans. It came as no surprise, then, that Jimmy's appearance on "Ellen" this week left us weepy. Jimmy admitted he has trouble reigning in his own emotions when he talks about difficult issues on the air. "It's embarrassing to me. I try not to cry," he said (via E! News). "I pinch my hand." That's when Ellen ponied up her guest gift du jour. "We called our friends at Children's Hospital LA," she said. "We have named one of the rooms of the Heart Institute floor in honor of Billy." She showed a photo of the dedicated room, which now bears a sign that says, "In Honor of Billy Kimmel." As Ellen told Jimmy, "that will forever be the Billy Kimmel room," he thanked her, wiped a tear from his face, gave her a kiss and told her, "that means a lot to me." Then, when it turned out some of the nurses who had cared for Billy were in audience, Jimmy joked, "You should be at work!"

Angela Bassett, 59, was a vision in her blue sequined crop top and matching wide-legged pants when she walked the blue carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of "A Wrinkle in Time" on Monday, Feb. 26. If her figure seems to defy the laws of gravity, it could be in part because of her busy schedule playing Ramonda in the action-packed Marvel film "Black Panther" and "Avengers: Infinity War," as well as her role in "Mission: Impossible – Fallout." Speaking to People last year about the fitness regimen Angela was taking on to get in shape for "Black Panther," her trainer Corey Calliet said he was going with circuit training via mountain climbers, jump squats, lunges, push-ups and high knees. "It's a very hard 45 minutes to an hour," he said at the time, "because you're going all the time, and I don't give too many breaks unless you're about to puke, faint or die." Sounds like someone missed their military calling …

Rachel McAdams: Regina George gave me 'longevity'

Although she was MIA for the premiere of her new film "Game Night," reportedly because she and her boyfriend are expecting their first child, Rachel McAdams has been doing some press around her new comedy, "Game Night." In a recent interview with the New York Times, Rachel admitted she doesn't take on roles like her latest — or Regina George in "Mean Girls" — because comedy "intimidates" her and such roles don't land in her lap often. It didn't take long for the writer to come back to that "Mean Girls" role in the Q&A, though. Asked if "a day has gone by since 'Mean Girls' was released" that she's not reminded of Regina by someone, Rachel cracked a joke before acknowledging that the unexpected part has probably helped her stick around in Hollywood longer. "Does Regina George haunt me every day? She does have that quality," she said with a laugh. "No, I have to thank Regina George for giving me some longevity. I'm forever grateful to Tina Fey [the 'Mean Girls' screenwriter] and Mark Waters [the director]. I remember when I read it, I called my agent right away and said, 'I will play any part in this, please, please, please.' I was at the beginning of my career, and it was a lofty thing out there, that I really, really, really wanted to do. I'm always looking for larger-than-life characters, which is probably why I like playing villains. They get away with so much."

Catelynn Lowell returns home to Michigan after rehab following miscarriage

As "Teen Mom OG" fans watched Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra deal discover Catelynn had miscarried on the Monday, Feb. 26, edition of "Teen Mom OG," Catelynn was getting reacclimated to life with Tyler and their 3-year-old daughter Nova after spending 40 days in a Tuscon, Arizona treatment center. "Finally home and it feels so good!" she wrote on Instagram, posting a photo of her reunion with her man. The rehab stint came on the heels of Catelynn's miscarriage, which left her feeling suicidal, according to Us Weekly. On the show, Tyler was seen telling a producer that there had been "blood everywhere" before they figured out what had happened. "We just sat on the bed and cried," he said on the show. "We held each other. There's nothing you can really do." With the benefit of hindsight, though, Tyler was able to at least send some compassionate thoughts to other couples who might be going through the same thing. "That baby may have not been fully grown in the womb . . . but it was fully grown in our hearts," he tweeted. "For every parent out who who has lost a baby . . . it is not your fault & it more than acceptable and understandable to mourn the loss of that baby & take your time to grieve. #ParentStrong."

'Bachelor' alums Jason and Molly Mesnick celebrate their eight wedding anniversary

Congrats are in order to one of the few couples to have come out of a Bachelor Nation experience with their relationship intact. On Tuesday, Feb. 27, Jason Mesnick and Molly Mesnick celebrated their eight-year anniversary. The milestone comes after Jason infamously proposed to Melissa Rycroft on "The Bachelor" in 2009 — then changed course and said he wanted to be with Molly Malaney. Turns out his gut was right! "8 years…8!!!! I can't even believe it has been that long since that magical (and very rainy ☔️) day!," Molly — who lives with Jason and their two kids in Seattle, where she hosts a radio show and he works in real estate — gushed on Instagram. She continued: "@jasonmesnick there is no one I would rather do life with than you!!! 🥂 to 80 more years together (although we probably won't live that long because you're already an old man and I drink too much wine, but you get what I mean 👴🏼🍷😜) I love you!!! 😘❤️."

'Looming Tower' stars Jeff Daniels, Peter Sarsgaard on whether they'd work with Woody Allen again

In the #MeToo and #Time'sUp era, actors in particular have been asked to take sides when it comes to allegations against those accused of sexual misconduct. This week on MSNBC's "Meet the Press," Jeff Daniels and Peter Sarsgaard, who star (with Tahar Rahim, pictured at their left), were asked whether they'd ever work with Woody Allen again given his daughter Dylan Farrow's allegation he molested her when she was 7. "It's a difficult decision because of 'Purple Rose of Cairo,'" said Jeff, who also appeared in the Woody-directed "Radio Days" (via the Daily Mail). "That movie will always be a great experience, a great movie for me, and he will always be a great American filmmaker. I got to work with him at the age of 30 and it changed my life. All of that and I believe Dylan Farrow. Would I do another one with Woody? The difficult decision would be to turn him down because of 'Purple Rose,'" he admitted. Peter was less wavering. "I've already done a Woody Allen movie," he said in reference to "Blue Jasmine." "No." He added that he thought the director's work is "fantastic" and that the allegations, which Woody has denied, would not keep him from watching some of his movies again.
