Adele nips dating rumors in the bud with 'single cat lady' post
Amid a new crop of rumors about Adele's alleged romance with British rapper Skepta, the singer hopped on Instagram on Wednesday, Oct. 28, and said she was very much "single." Multiple outlets reported the 32-year-old was dating Skepta after she hosted "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend. As the buzz grew louder, however, Adele gracefully shut it down with a post that dovetailed from "SNL" to her love life or lack thereof. "Had the best time on SNL! Thank you to the most wonderful cast, crew, writers and producers. What a sublime bunch of people you are. Lorne thank you for believing in me! Lindsay my sister for life, Maya my comedy and Mama hero!" she wrote. "Plus the so up for it audiences at both the dress rehearsal and live show! I did it for the joy of it and I hope you got some from it too! Good luck with the election America I love you so much," she continued. "Look after each other and go easy on yourselves. Happy Halloween!" Before wrapping up, she added: "I'm going back to my cave now to be the (single) cat lady that I am! Peace out til next year ♥️."

Offset supports Cardi B on Birkin bags argument: 'Hip-hop starts the trends'
On-again couple Cardi B and Offset were on the same page Monday with regard to a social media post accusing Black women in hip-hop of decreasing the "value" of Birkin bags by making them "easy to get." Cardi, who's fond of sharing photos of her extensive Birkin collection, posted a long video message this week slamming the claims as racist and pointing to evidence that she's actually increased the value of brands she's referenced in music or been associated with. On Monday, Offset shared a photo of the couple with some of Cardi's latest Birkin purchases. "Stop letting people on the internet tell ya'll who can get a Birkin at the store, and how many Birkin's [sic] you can get," he told followers, echoing his wife's points. "Black people having access to luxury shouldn't be a debate…by the way hip hop starts the trends!" If hip-hop starts the trends, Cardi and Offset's 2-year-old daughter, Kulture, by the way, continues them. In the comments, a reply from her Instagram account read, "OK which one's mine?" Fair question!

Savannah Guthrie reportedly poised to sign new 'megadeal' with NBC News
After her town hall interview with Donald Trump, Savannah Guthrie was widely praised for delivering one of the "toughest grillings he has faced as president," to quote the Washington Post. The same outlet noted that the "Today" co-anchor's strong interview helped take "the heat off NBC" for agreeing to host what Trump himself called "a free hour of television" for his campaign. Now, Guthrie could be poised to cash in on her performance. Page Six reported Tuesday night that Guthrie is "on the brink of signing a new megadeal with NBC," one that would bring her rumored $8 million salary closer to the $20 million Matt Lauer was earning before he was fired over a sexual misconduct scandal. Although NBC reps did not comment, a "TV source" told Page Six: "Savannah's new deal will be significantly more than $8 million a year, taking into consideration inflation, Lauer's old deal and her popularity." Guthrie, a former litigator who also serves as Chief Legal Correspondent for NBC News, has had other NBC News wins this year, too, including the fact that she snagged the first live interview with Bob Woodward pegged to his trump book, "Rage." "Savannah is in a new realm now at the network," said another source. Next week, Guthrie is slated to lead NBC News' primetime election coverage with Lester Holt, Chuck Todd and Andrea Mitchell.

The nation may feel pretty divided right now, but for the second time this month, Los Angeles sports fans have a common, nonpartisan cause to celebrate. On Tuesday — just two weeks after the Lakers won the NBA championship finals — the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1, winning the World Series for the first time in 32 years. Among the A-listers celebrating on social media Tuesday night was Lakers star LeBron James, who couldn't help but beg nobody in particular for a victory celebration, given the back-to-back wins for the city. "Man can we PLEASE have a parade!!!" he tweeted. "I know I know we can't but … I wanna celebrate with our @Lakers &@Dodgers fans!!! LA is the city of CHAMPIONS," he added. Baseball fanatic Alyssa Milano was emotional on Twitter, too, as she shared an old-school pic of herself getting ready to take a swing while dressed in full Dodgers gear. "TEARS! Woooooohoooooo! Thank you, #Dodgers!" she posted. Other celebs chiming in with congrats included former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Philly-bred DJ and producer Diplo, Lana Del Rey, John Legend and Ryan Seacrest.

When Machine Gun Kelly started working on his new album, "Tickets To My Downfall," he expected the music to deal with just what the title suggests. Instead, he recently told NME for the magazine's latest cover story, it turned out to be a journal detailing his path to becoming a "better person." Not surprisingly, MGK believes that's largely thanks to Megan Fox, who he hasn't really stopped gushing about since they went public with their romance over the summer. "[The new album] is essentially my diary because I did fall in love during the making of this record, and I did become a better person," he explained. "It's interesting. There was probably a crossroads in the middle of making this album where the title would have lived up to the reality. I think the universe caught on to me wanting to make a change. It was like: 'Maybe we won't make this a reality; maybe we'll make this ironic.' Instead of the downfall, go ahead and have the biggest rise of your f—— life." As MGK and Megan have both shared in previous interviews, they met on the set of their forthcoming movie, "Midnight in the Switchgrass," and proceeded to become smitten with one another almost immediately. According to one report, they're already "planning their future together." Speaking to NME, MGK added: "Love is the one thing that can't be restricted. No one has the power to stop that, as much as so many have tried in my life thus far."
Kim Kardashian reportedly spent $1M on her 40th birthday, private island getaway
Kim Kardashian West's 40th birthday trip to a private island — her posts about which have since sparked memes galore — may have been even more extravagant than we realized. A new report from Page Six claims Kim plunked down no less than $1 million to fly her family and closest friends to the French Polynesian island of Tetiaroa Atoll, where they reportedly enjoyed "lavish dinners, spa visits and guided treks through the lush island." Even their flight was over the top, according to the tab, which reports everyone left Los Angeles on an 88-bed chartered plane that featured a bar and restaurant. On Tuesday, Kim got dragged on social media for posting photos from the largely mask-free celebration amid a global health crisis, a faltering world economy and extreme and sometimes violent racial tensions. Initially, Kim faced a spate of challenging messages like the tweet from musician Peter Frampton that read: "Are you that insensitive you don't realise this is not what the majority of people during the worst covid spike yet want to hear? People are going to food banks not private islands." By Wednesday, users were instead having fun with memes based on one of Kim's tweets about the vacation. "After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time," she posted Tuesday. Users simply pasted the "pretend things were normal" text onto posts showing their own "private islands" — which ranged from dire "Game of Thrones," "Midsommar" and "The Sopranos" scenes to apocalyptic artwork.

As congratulatory comments flooded Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani's social media feeds following their engagement announcement this week, Blake told pastor and author Rick Warren that he and Gwen are "extremely excited" about the big news. It sounds like Gwen had good reason to be happy about how Blake's proposal went down, too. A source tells Us Weekly the country star asked Gwen's dad for permission before popping the question, a move she was apparently touched by. "It meant so much to Gwen that Blake was so traditional about it," said the insider. Blake also reportedly had the ring he slipped on the No Doubt singer's finger custom designed. The sparkler appears to feature a "classic" setting with a six-carat, solitaire diamond design, according to Brilliant Earth's Kathryn Money, who estimates its value to be upwards of $500,000.
John Corbett reveals he stole a $20k moose head from the set of 'Northern Exposure'
If pop culture's learned anything positive from the coronavirus pandemic, it's that quarantine loves a good anniversary reunion — a virtual one, of course. The latest such get-together came courtesy of a Vulture Festival panel dedicated to the quirky, award-winning '90s hit, "Northern Exposure," which premiered 30 years ago on CBS and kickstarted John Corbett's TV career. John and his co-stars played the eccentric residents of a small Alaskan town where a young doctor from New York City (Rob Morrow) sets up a practice as part of his med school loan obligations. The main takeaway from Vulture's reunion, however, was the prop raid John basically staged after the show came to an end in 1995. He showed up at the reunion wearing his signature bandana and shirt from the show, but that's far from all he made off with from the set, according to Vulture. The list of props he swiped includes, but is not limited to: a puppet, a motorcycle part, a piano part, a sword and a wax head. Oh — and a $20,000 taxidermied moose head, which John revealed he stole by yanking it over a fence into a nearby graveyard while the cast and crew were all at lunch. "It's in my living room hanging on the wall," John admitted. Apparently, the show's producers made it very clear they'd be out $20 grand if the moose head went missing. That was 25 years ago, of course. "I think I've escaped the statute of limitations," the actor said coyly.
Sharon Osbourne reveals she and Ozzy were recently the victims of credit card fraud
Sharon Osbourne and Ozzy Osbourne learned this week that they were the victims of credit card fraud. While discussing the recent burglary on the set of Conan O'Brien's show on Tuesday's "The Talk," Sharon revealed that while trying to buy her daughter Kelly Osbourne a 36th birthday gift the night before, she found out both her credit cards and Ozzy's were maxed out. "I give my credit card and they come back and say, 'Do you have another card? It didn't go through,'" Sharon shared, according to USA Today. "I say, 'Just try it again, put it through again' … still didn't go through." She said that after giving the store clerk Ozzy's card, she found the limits were hit on both. "I called through to the credit card company and they go, 'No, no, no, you're maxed out, so is Ozzy on this account,'" she said. "I'm like, I don't go to that store, or to that store." When Eve asked if it was sure "fraud," Sharon said it was. As of Tuesday, the issue had yet to be resolved.
Jon Stewart teams up with Apple TV+ for new current events show
It seems the news cycle-on-steroids that is 2020 may have finally lured 20-time Emmy Award winner Jon Stewart back into the fray. Apple TV+ announced Tuesday that the former "Daily Show" host is due to launch a "new, original current affairs series" on the streaming platform. The show has yet to be given an official name or premiere date, but The Verge reports it will run for "multiple seasons," while The Hollywood Reporter says Jon's series will kick off in 2021. THR adds that the focus will be on "single issue[s] … at the center of both the national conversation and [Jon's] own advocacy work," making it more akin to "Last Week Tonight" than the variety-driven "Daily Show," which Jon hosted from 1999 until 2015.
