Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in mid-October 2019, starting with one of our favorite Australian actors… Liam Hemsworth is finally moving on from his ex-wife, Miley Cyrus: He and 22-year-old Australian actress Maddison Brown — who portrays Kirby Anders on the "Dynasty" reboot — packed on the PDA during a series of outings in New York City on Oct. 11. After sharing a meal on the patio at Sant Ambroeus restaurant in the West Village (see photos here), the casually dressed pair held hands while taking a stroll that eventually took them to an underground subway station. A spy told Us Weekly that Liam requested an outdoor table during the late lunch — indicating that he wasn't exactly trying to keep his date on the down low. "[They] seemed very at ease with each other. It was romantic, but they seemed like friends enjoying each other's company," said the onlooker. Later that night — following a wardrobe change — the duo were caught on camera kissing while bar hopping. (See photos here.) According to an Us Weekly source, the former star of "The Hunger Games" is "so into Maddison and really likes her." Said the insider, "Liam feels like Maddison gets him and understands him, partly because she is also Australian. They also both share similar senses of humor. … Spending time with Maddison has been natural, fun and easy for Liam." E! News reported on Oct. 11 that Bella Hadid and The Weeknd are working on their relationship after calling it quits (again) earlier this year. The off-and-on couple of several years sparked reconciliation rumors when the chart-topper was seen taking shots with the supermodel during her star-studded Oct. 10 birthday bash in New York City. "He was with her the entire night and they left together to go back to the apartment they both shared," said an E! spy. "You could tell that they were definitely in love and they both looked very happy being around each other." According to an Us Weekly source, "It did seem like Bella and The Weeknd were back together. … She was so happy when he arrived and surprised her. The pair were very affectionate with one another, but there was no kissing. However, he did feed Bella a macaroon and the sparks were flying!" (The previous evening, Bella was seen getting into her former love's car after leaving another party in honor of her birthday.) But according to E!'s sources, the pair aren't officially back together yet, and The Weeknd only attended Bella's birthday party as a "friend." According to one source, the duo "have been in touch the last couple of weeks and have been working on their relationship." The "Starboy" singer reportedly "reached out to Bella first checking in to say hello, and she agreed to meet up with him." Said the E! insider, "There was no love lost between the two. [He] just had a few things he needed to work on and his focus was elsewhere. … They are in a better place right now but are trying to keep things on the down low. They both want to be more private about it this time around." Meanwhile, Bella's mother, Yolanda Hadid, told Us Weekly on Oct. 10 that the former couple are "still friends." Said the mom of three, "He's still close to the family and we don't know what's going to happen in 10 years from now. Now everybody has to focus on their career and try to, you know, do what they have to do and everybody's friends! … [He's] been with our family since what, Bella's 17 years old."

The Oct. 10 episode of "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation" showed Jenni "JWoww" Farley's boyfriend, Zack Clayton Carpinello, grilling Angelina Pivarnick about her sex life and then getting handsy with her during a night out in Las Vegas with the housemates. (When they shot the episode months ago and Angelina alleged that the wrestler came onto her, JWoww accused her of lying, resulting in a huge blowup between the two women.) But after the episode aired and JWoww saw the footage of Zack flirting with Angelina, she promptly dumped him. She then took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the situation: "After seeing tonight's episode I'm pretty hurt," she wrote. "I feel disrespected by someone I called a friend and by someone who stated they loved me. For 5 months I was kept in the dark about this. For 5 months I was naive, probably laughed at and made into a story line that will forever haunt me. My heart hurts on so many levels. One thing I learned from tonight's episode is know your value. Don't ever lower your standards." Zack, meanwhile, took to Instagram to apologize: "I made mistakes that I cannot take back, which I take full responsibility for," he wrote. "Jenni does not deserve any damage from anybody else. This is on me. I sincerely apologize to Jenni. I apologize to Angelina as well. I love Jenni, with everything I have, I make this known to be every day. I will continue to do everything to make this known to her and her kids, who also have my heart. I will make it certain that nothing like this ever happens again, in any way regardless of outcome." JWoww and Zack reportedly reunited on Oct. 12 to take her two kids to a theme park in Leonia, New Jersey. "They weren't lovey dovey or touchy. They were more civil than acting like a couple, but he was affectionate and sweet with the kids," one witness told Us Weekly, adding that there was "no romance" just "two people watching kids enjoy the festivities." Said another source of the duo, who were joined by JWoww's father, "The whole family looked happy. … Jenni and Zack weren't showing any PDA, they were playing with the kids but didn't seem overly affectionate. Jenni was spending most of her time watching the kids." It's unclear whether or not the pair have reconciled romantically. Jenni's ex-husband, Roger Mathews, shared his thoughts on the drama during an interview with Us Weekly: "I want peace with my ex-wife for my kids and if there is turmoil in her life and in her household, it's just not a good thing for our children, so I wish nothing but the best for her," he said. "I wish them all well and I hope Jenni and Zack can work through their issues if they deem it worth saving. I'm focused on myself and my children. Onwards and upwards."

In a preview for the 10th season premiere of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" that hit the Internet on Oct. 15, Teresa Giudice said "I don't know" when asked if she's still in love with her husband, Joe Giudice. Later, the mother of four describes a shirtless man in a photo on her phone as "the one I hooked up with." At another point in the preview, she's shown spending time with the same man. When her brother, Joe Gorga, asks them if they were "messing around," the man responds, "We might have kissed." After the preview dropped, Teresa's lawyer, James Leonard Jr., released a statement to Us Weekly explaining that her comments in the preview about her "mystery man" were taken out of context: "The clip in the newer supertease is Teresa, her brother and a lifelong friend named Tony talking about Teresa and Tony kissing when they were in high school more than 25 years ago," he said. Another source told Us Weekly that the reality star is "very hurt" by how the trailer was edited because it comes "at a time when she is trying to keep her family together and work on her marriage." Earlier this year, Teresa said it's unlikely she and Joe will stay together if he's deported to his native Italy following his incarceration on fraud charges. Recently, Joe chose to travel to Italy rather than remain in ICE custody while fighting the immigration board's decision to deport him. Meanwhile, Teresa has been accused of having an affair with a younger man, which she's denied. On Oct. 15, Radar Online reported that, according to a source, "Joe wants a divorce." Said the insider, whose word should probably be taken with a grain of salt, "He is so mad at Teresa for cheating while he was locked up and left to rot in prison. … Joe is really mad at her for being so awful." The alleged insider added that Joe has asked his estranged wife not to post any photos of him on social media and that his mother also "wants him to divorce Teresa."
On Oct. 15, People magazine published a statement from Cody Simpson's rep addressing the singer-songwriter's relationship with Miley Cyrus: "It is early, but their friendship is long-standing and deeper than people realize. Though they originally met during their own wilder phases, they're both sober now and are focused on health, work and spending time together. Seems pretty ideal to me," said Matt Zeidman. The statement echoes comments Cody made during an Oct. 11 chat with multiple media outlets. After confirming that it's "safe to say" he and Miley are official but "too early to say" if she's "the one," the Australian crooner gushed about the former child star, whom he referred to as his girlfriend: "I'm very happy. We are very, very happy," he said. "She's creative. She's very passionate about what she does, and I'm very similar in that sense. That's why we get along so well. … We just have a ball, and that's the most important part of a relationship." He went on to call dating Miley a "different experience" for him: "The reason why it hasn't been a really crazy sudden thing is just because we've been friends for so long," he said, adding that they "met back in the day when we were partying a lot" and "had a lot of fun then" but "found each other again in a space where we're both not partying, working real hard, and it just keeps things healthy and it's good." Continued Cody, "Any girlfriends I've had in the past has always been immediate romance and so it's a different experience having been friends with somebody before and it developing naturally into something more." The duo have become constant fixtures at each other's sides since they debuted their romance earlier this month. On Oct. 12, Cody joined Miley and her mother, Tish Cyrus, for brunch at a restaurant in the Los Angeles area. The following morning, the duo were seen picking up coffee together. Later that day, he took to his Instagram Story to share a video of himself and his girlfriend touching tongues while lying in bed together and playing with a "Joker" clown-face filter. Also on Oct. 13, Cody's mom, Angie, took to Instagram to share a photo of her son and his new love: "Puts a smile on my dial to see you both so blissfully happy 😃 Hearing your laughs and seeing the smiles on your faces lights up my heart 💫 #happyforyouguys #beautifullsouls," she wrote in the caption. Miley responded with several heart emojis, while her own mother wrote in the comments section, "Puts a smile on my face too @angiemsimpson love you my sweet friend."
On the Oct. 14 episode of "Strahan, Sara & Keke," Bachelor Nation's Mike Johnson said he "made a mistake" by being so open about his brief fling with Demi Lovato. "I don't like dating in public," he said. He then attempted to shoot his shot with co-host Keke Palmer. "But if I were to ask you if we could go on a date in the public…" he started before the live studio-audience drowned out the rest of his comment by loudly cheering. The former child star was not impressed: She reacted by covering her face and prompting her co-hosts to move on to the next question. "I'm at work," she said before tossing to a commercial. Later, during an Oct. 14 interview with Us Weekly, Mike said that he's "definitely" on good terms with Demi, though he declined to elaborate on whether or not they're still seeing each other, saying that he would "never" kiss and tell (though he technically already did) and that he plans to keep his love life "100 percent" to himself moving forward. "I will say this: Demi is amazing," he said. "I think that she's a beautiful individual inside and out." He went on to say that he "messed up in the past" by talking too openly about their relationship and is "going to try not to let it happen again." Mike also confirmed that he's still looking for something serious: "I absolutely genuinely want a serious relationship," he said. "That's why I continue to say hopefully I'm not the Bachelor next year — or even if they ask, I can say, 'No, I'm happily in a wonderful relationship right now.' I really truly do want that."
On Oct. 15, Dave Annable and Odette Annable released a statement to People magazine announcing that they're separating after nine years of marriage. "It's with heavy hearts that we have come to the mutual decision to separate at this time," they said. "Our daughter is our primary concern and we remain committed to co-parenting her together. We ask that you please respect our family's privacy at this time."
Us Weekly reported on Oct. 11 that Ariel Winter and Levi Meaden have called it quits after nearly three years of coupledom. Breakup rumors kicked off after the "Modern Family" actress was seen dining with another man in the Los Angeles area on Oct. 8.
Trace Adkins and Victoria Pratt tied the knot in New Orleans on Oct. 12 in a ceremony officiated by Blake Shelton. It's the groom's fourth marriage and the bride's second.
Us Weekly reported on Oct. 11 that Audrina Patridge is dating Josh Henderson, with whom she's been friends for years. A rep for the former "Desperate Housewives" actor, however, downplayed his relationship with the reality star: "They are friends," the rep told Us Weekly.
TMZ reported on Oct. 15 that Bachelor Nation's Amanda Stanton and former "Rich Kids of Beverly Hills" star Brendan Fitzpatrick started seeing each other about a month ago after meeting through mutual friends. The real estate agent split from Morgan Stewart over the summer amid reports that she cheated.
Katie Stevens and Boys Like Girls guitarist Paul DiGiovanni tied the knot in the Nashville area on Oct. 12. According to People magazine, which published exclusive wedding photos, among the couple's 250 guests were the bride's "The Bold Type" co-star Meghann Fahy, Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay, plus their wives, Olivia Holt, Chloe Bennet and Molly McCook. The groom's bandmates Martin Johnson and John Keefe served as groomsmen.
Looks like there's a new woman in Usher's life! Photographer Jennifer Johnson sparked rumors that the superstar is dating Jennifer Goicoechea, the senior director of A&R at Epic Records, when she took to Instagram in mid-October to share a photo of the beautiful businesswoman pecking the singer on the cheek while hanging out backstage at the Hollywood Bowl. "Cause she's such a good kisser! 💋 Caught a rare moment with @usher backstage the other day. I stay catching moments like these boys be catching feelings!" she wrote in the caption. It's unclear if Usher and Jenn G. — who posed together at Keith Thomas's 40th birthday bash in Atlanta in June — are truly a couple or just super-close colleagues.
Although a judge signed off on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's request to legally end their marriage earlier this year, the duo have yet to finalize their divorce. What's taking so long? Us Weekly reported on Oct. 10 that the pair have yet to wrap up their property settlement because they can't come to an agreement on Chateau Miraval, the French castle and vineyard they purchased in 2008 for a reported $67 million — and where they tied the knot in 2008. "The sticking point is the value of Miraval," said an Us Weekly source. "Angelina wants to be awarded the property as hers entirely because it was her idea to purchase the property to begin with." But, said the insider, Brad feels he had been "more than generous with other financial elements" and has offered his ex a "one-time lump sum payment of $10 million" for the property.
Matthew Koma sparked rumors that he and Hilary Duff had secretly tied the knot when he took to Instagram on Oct. 12 to share a photo of the singer-actress looking all dolled up, which he captioned simply, "Wife." The duo announced their engagement in May.
Diddy and Lori Harvey sparked rumors that they'd called time on their headline-making romance when they mysteriously unfollowed each other on Instagram in mid-October. Further fueling the breakup rumors, the music mogul was seen dining with a mystery blonde at Nobu in Los Angeles on Oct. 11. According to The Shade Room, Diddy and his female companion arrived together in his car but entered the hotspot separately to avoid being photographed together.
Howard Stern and Beth Stern have been married since 2008, but the famed shock jock proposed again on the Oct. 9 episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" First, the radio host revealed that he's actually popped the question to his missus several times since they wed but "she always says no" because "she thinks it's jinxed" to renew wedding vows. "It's so great when I propose to my wife, she gets embarrassed," he said before asking the animal activist, who'd been sitting in the front row, to join him on stage. He then launched into his proposal: "Darling, you know you have given me the best years of my life. I love you so much," he said. "I'm going to say to you now in front of all my best friends: My sweet love, will you marry me again?" Shockingly, she said yes! A few days later, on the Oct. 14 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Howard revealed that he didn't expect Beth to say yes and that he only put her on the spot because he thought it would be funny. Ellen then staged a vow renewal ceremony officiated by Colton Underwood, who got ordained to marry the couple earlier that day. "I want to remarry my wife. I'll do it every day," said Howard. "Howard is so romantic. He is the most romantic man. Every day he tells me how beautiful I am. He knows I'm very insecure. And every day he tells me he wants to remarry me," said Beth, adding that she didn't know she was supposed to reject his proposal. "So do you want to marry me?" she asked. "I so want to marry you, and I vow to you if you remarry me, I promise for the rest of my life, to watch 'The Bachelor' with you in bed every single night — and 'Bachelor in Paradise.'" Colton then led them through their vows.
On the Oct. 13 episode of their "Whine Down" podcast, Jana Kramer revealed that she's still struggling to move past a recent incident involving husband Mike Caussin that triggered her distrust in his ability to remain faithful. (She found a photo of a topless woman on his Apple Watch that she now believes came from a bot or a spam account, but because the former professional football player — who has issues with sex addiction — didn't tell her about the photo off the bat, she felt especially betrayed.) Said the former "One Tree Hill" star, "I told Michael the other day, 'I don't believe that there won't be another time [you hide something from me].' And that sucks to have to feel that. Because how do I believe that when I've heard so many times, 'I'll never do it again. I'll never do it again.' So it kinda puts me in this really awkward situation, and it makes me look weak to be continuing to stick around whether he did something or he didn't. And I believe that he didn't. Like, I know it wasn't a real person [who texted the topless pic]. I know all those things. But it doesn't matter." She went on to say that staying in the marriage has been difficult because of the "trauma" she suffered when Mike lied in the past: "I'm not saying it's weak to stay. I'm not saying it's weak to leave," she said. "I'm just saying for me personally where I'm at and how many times [he's lied], I'm now like, it's weakening me by staying." She added that the main trauma for her isn't her husband "acting out with other women" — though she admitted that would be painful — but "the finding out things" he's hidden from her. She also said that she's "more scared than hopeful" when it comes to moving past her trust issues.
Rosario Dawson and her boyfriend of about a year, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, made their red-carpet debut at the premiere of "The Need to Grow," a documentary she narrates, in Los Angeles on Oct. 9. The following evening, he joined her at the premiere of "Zombieland: Double Tap," in which she has a starring role. Four days later, it was the actress's turn to show her support: Rosario cheered on her favorite presidential candidate at the fourth Democratic debate in Ohio. She reportedly had a second-row seat for the event.
In other red-carpet debut news… Yolanda Hadid and her boyfriend, Joseph Jingoli, made their red-carpet debut at the Global Lyme Alliance's annual gala in New York City on Oct. 10. "It's so amazing to finally find somebody that is my match," the former star of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" told Us Weekly at the event. "I mean, I'm 55! I feel like I'm going to give hope to all these amazing women out there [who] think, you know, after raising children and [going through] divorces, that life is over. Life is just beginning and it's so good right now, and I'm just so excited and so blessed to have met such an extraordinary man that loves the same things that I do." The couple are in no rush to wed, though: "It's not really something we talk about," said the mother of three. "I think marriage is for people that want to have more kids, and it's really not that important to me anymore because, you know, I've learned the hard way that that piece of paper doesn't mean anything. That piece of paper is not a guarantee that two people will stay together, and I think right now it's so good that it's just perfect the way that it is."
Back in August, Brandon Thomas Lee and Kathryn Newton sparked romance rumors when they were seen dining with the reality star's mother, Pamela Anderson, and brother, Dylan Jagger Lee. But during an Oct. 12 interview with Us Weekly, Brandon downplayed his relationship with the "Big Little Lies" actress: "Me and Kathryn are good friends," he said. Both our lives are crazy. It's just hard to, you know, we see each other every once in a while. … But we're friends."
In the comments section of a since-deleted photo of himself and girlfriend Cassie Randolph that Colton Underwood posted on Instagram on Oct. 10, the former star of "The Bachelor" agreed with a fan who said that he or she "never saw you [two] lasting." Wrote the reality star, "Same. It's crazy what happens when you take your time and don't feel pressure from a show or public." He then doubled down after another fan chimed in to ask if he really "didn't see the 2 of you lasting." Wrote Colton, "No not at all."
On Oct. 10, "Bachelor in Paradise" alum John Paul Jones accidentally reignited the feud between former couple Clay Harbor and Nicole Lopez-Alvar when he captioned a photo of himself, "Some things just take time." Clay wrote in the comments section, "I learned engagements aren't supposed to." It was an obvious dig at his ex, who dumped him during the finale of Season 6 of "BiP" when he said he wanted to continue dating her but wasn't ready to get engaged. At first, Nicole made light of Clay's comment, joking that "not everything can take as long as [Clay's] gym sessions." But after a fan called her a "moron," she chose to defend herself: "He straight-up went on two shows where the sole purpose is to find The One and then he's out here 'confused' when he applied for these reality dating shows himself (which are accelerated — it's literally in the synopsis of said shows)," she said before dragging Clay's other ex, Angela Amezcua, who also appeared on the recent season of "BiP," into the drama. "[He] led Angela and I on because he's scared of commitment and won't settle down until he's in his 40s because he's The Bachelor of Chicago™ and did these two shows for clout to see if he'd gain 15 minutes of fame and get back into his failed NFL career." She also claimed that Clay never called her after "BiP" wrapped — even though he said he was interested in dating her off camera. He then took to Twitter to defend his NFL career and explain why he never called: "I was going to reach out but after finding out she had a boyfriend a couple of weeks after the show, I decided not to," he wrote. "I was happy for her and didn't wanna intrude. … I will not be pressured into something as powerful as an engagement. Yes I'm aware it's accelerated but each relationship is different and I didn't think mine made it far enough yet to be ready for that step. … [I] wanted the opportunity to see what would happen in real life. … As far as Angela is concerned, Angela and I met and dated completely off camera and we decided to break up. … A big reason I decided to end things was not to waste her time or lead her on. (I was also told she wouldn't be in paradise but that's another story.)"
In other Bachelor Nation news… During an Oct. 9 interview with Us Weekly, Demi Burnett shot down rumors that she and Kristian Haggerty — who got engaged on the finale of Season 6 of "Bachelor in Paradise" — are no longer an item because they don't post about each other on their social media channels all the time. "We both have so much going on right now. … But we do spend time together. Just because we don't broadcast it doesn't mean that we're not together," she said before explaining why she and her love live separately in different parts of the Los Angeles area. "We're not too far apart. I think it's important to kind of have our space just so, you know, we can develop a normal, very solid, steady relationship," she said. "If you just jump into it and just rush everything, for me personally, that's not how I could have a successful relationship. I have to definitely take it at a steady pace." Demi added that she and Kristian are not currently in wedding-planning mode: "We're definitely just dating right now. There's so much going on for both of us that … planning a wedding right now just sounds so intense. So we're definitely taking it slow and just enjoying our time together."
On Oct. 14, TMZ published photos of Lilly Ghalichi and husband Dara Mir, who filed for divorce in August, packing on the PDA at their daughter's first birthday party on Oct. 6, indicating that they've reconciled. According to the webloid, the pair were "all over each other for much of the day," were both "still wearing their wedding rings" and "looked very much like a happy couple." Following the party — but before the TMZ photos hit the Internet — the former "Shahs of Sunset" star told Us Weekly of her relationship with Dara, "It's not like anything atrocious happened between us that would result in us not being able to be friends or not being able to co-parent or whatever the future may hold for us. I think when two people are married … even if the relationship ends or goes sour, as long as they remember that moment when it was good, they'll always be able to be friends especially if there's a child involved."
Based on their recent social media posts, Javi Marroquin and Lauren Comeau are living together again following an August blow-up and cheating scandal that nearly derailed their plans to tie the knot. In September, Radar Online reported that the duo were "trying to work on things," though it's unclear whether or not their engagement is still on. Neither Javi nor Lauren have posted about each other on Instagram since their recent split.
Tia Booth — who competed for Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s heart on Season 22 of "The Bachelor" in 2018 — took to Instagram on Oct. 14 to announce that she and her boyfriend of about a year, Cory Cooper, recently called it quits. "I am no longer in a relationship. I am fine. He is fine. At this stage of life, we are better as friends. He is a very private person and will freak when he reads this, but I wanted to address it myself," she captioned a photo of herself. In August, Bachelor Nation's Chad Johnson accused Tia of cheating on her boyfriend with former "Big Brother" contestant Corey Brooks.
"The Challenge" couple Cara Maria Sorbello and Paulie Calafiore — who've been in an open relationship for a little more than a year — faked their recent breakup, they revealed on Oct. 9. The drama started two days earlier when Cara took to Instagram to address cheating rumors. "There is no cheating. There will never be any cheating for the rest of our lives," she said. "We've always been in an open relationship. We are in an open relationship now. So he can do and say and like whatever he wants and so can I. The end! We're happy." But the following day, Paulie said they'd called it quits: "It's been a long time coming but Cara and I have decided that it's probably best that we go our separate ways and that we are friends," he said on his Instagram Story. "It's not easy but sometimes people are better off as friends, and that's just how it is. We will be OK. We still have each other's backs, so it's no big deal." Then came the revelation that their previous statements were part of a bizarre "social experiment." On Oct. 11, Cara told Us Weekly that she and Paulie were inspired to stage their breakup by haters on social media who "created a quiet distrust between us from the beginning." She continued, "Here we are today, after everything we have been through, still together — and only we know what that means. Trolls will analyze every single post, like, comment and follow and try to make them fit in where they want. … They want us to split. They want to be right so bad. So we fed them a few days of acting to see where they would take it."
Ronan Farrow and "Pod Save America" host Jon Lovett — who worked as a speechwriter for President Obama before creating the short-lived comedy series "1600 Penn" — are engaged. According to E! News, the investigative journalist reveals their happy news in his freshly released book "Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators." Ronan popped the question by writing "Marriage?" in a draft of his book, which he gave to his beau to read.
Us Weekly reported on Oct. 16 that, according to a source, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott are still "extremely close" in the wake of their recent split. "Kylie is doing fine since her breakup with Travis. She's happy and things in her life are great," said the source. "They love each other and they share a daughter that will bind them together for life. They've been great partners in that respect.
