Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in mid-May 2019, starting with Scarlett Johansson's big news… Her rep confirmed to The Associated Press on May 19 that the actress and her boyfriend of about two years, Colin Jost, are engaged. The following day, TMZ reported that on May 16, the duo celebrated their engagement with a late-night dinner at the Blue Hill at Stone Barns restaurant in upstate New York — though it's unclear whether or not Colin popped the question that night. According to the webloid, Scarlett sported "a huge shiny ring" as she and Colin, who appeared "extremely happy," were "calling friends and family to share the news." Onlookers note that the couple were "very affectionate throughout the night" and clearly "in celebration mode." At one point, Scarlett even sat on her beau's lap. It will be the "Avengers" franchise star's third marriage (she was previously married to Ryan Reynolds and journalist Romain Dauriac, with whom she has a young daughter, Rose) and the "Saturday Night Live" funnyman's first. Us Weekly reported on May 22 that Zoe Kravitz recently married Karl Glusman, though it's unclear when exactly the duo tied the knot. According to a source, the pair are "legally married" but still plan to have a big wedding ceremony for family and friends in France in June — just like newlyweds Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas. Zoe announced in October that she and the "Nocturnal Animals" actor had gotten engaged.

Katharine McPhee and David Foster obtained a marriage license from the Beverly Hills Courthouse on May 17 — meaning they have 90 days to tie the knot. Three days later, TMZ reported that the singer-actress plans to change her name to "Katharine McPhee-Foster" after she weds the famed music producer, who popped the question in the summer of 2018. The pair are reportedly planning to wed in London sometime this summer. According to an Us Weekly source, "Kat and David are so elated and cannot wait to get married" but are trying to keep their wedding plans "under wraps." Said the insider, "At the end of the day, this is a period of love and happiness for them and no one else. … They complete each other." It'll be Kat's second marriage (she was previously married to actor Nick Cokas) and David's fifth (he's been married to Yolanda Hadid, Linda Thompson, Rebecca Dyer and B.J. Cook).

On May 18, Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston tied the knot at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle — the same venue where Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan exchanged vows in May 2018 and where Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank made it official in October 2018. The bride — who's the daughter of Queen Elizabeth II's cousin, Prince Michael of Kent — is 52nd in the line of succession to the British throne. The queen, Harry, Prince Philip, Prince Andrew, Sarah, Duchess of York, Princess Beatrice, Princess Anne and more royals were on hand during the nuptials.
On the May 17 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Keanu Reeves said that he didn't know that longtime pal Sandra Bullock had a crush on him when they shot 1994's "Speed" together. "She obviously didn't know I had a crush on her either," he said, adding that nothing ever happened between them because they were working but that "it was nice to go to work" every day because his former co-star is "such a wonderful person" and actress.
During an interview with Harper's Bazaar UK that hit the Internet on May 21, Natalie Portman denied that she and Moby were ever an item: "I was surprised to hear that he characterized the very short time that I knew him as dating because my recollection is a much older man being creepy with me when I just had graduated high school," she said. (The chart-topper wrote in his 2019 memoir, "Then It Fell Apart," that the actress was 20 when they knew each other.) "I was a fan and went to one of his shows when I had just graduated," Natalie continued. "When we met after the show, he said, 'Let's be friends.' He was on tour and I was working shooting a film, so we only hung out a handful of times before I realized that this was an older man who was interested in me in a way that felt inappropriate." She went on to say that she was disappointed Moby's publishers didn't contact her to confirm the dating claims before they released the book: "There was no fact checking from him or his publisher — it almost feels deliberate," she said. "That he used this story to sell his book was very disturbing to me. It wasn't the case. There are many factual errors and inventions." When Moby caught wind of Natalie's dating denial, he was less than thrilled…
Moby took to Instagram on May 22 to shoot down Natalie Portman's denial that they ever dated. He wrote in the caption of a photo of them together, "I recently read a gossip piece wherein Natalie Portman said that we'd never dated. This confused me, as we did, in fact, date. And after briefly dating in 1999 we remained friends for years. I like Natalie, and I respect her intelligence and activism. But, to be honest, I can't figure out why she would actively misrepresent the truth about our (albeit brief) involvement. The story as laid out in my book 'Then It Fell Apart' is accurate, with lots of corroborating photo evidence, etc. … Ps I completely respect Natalie's possible regret in dating me(to be fair, I would probably regret dating me, too), but it doesn't alter the actual facts of our brief romantic history."
Meanwhile, according to a May 21 Stereogum report, Moby also dished on his relationship with Lana Del Rey in his memoir. Back in 2006, the duo met and kissed at bar in New York City at 4 a.m. and later met up for dinner at a vegan macrobiotic restaurant. (He tried to take her back to his five-floor penthouse apartment the night they met, but she declined, saying she wouldn't go home with someone she just met but that she'd "happily go on a date if I called her and asked her out.") Writes the charter-topper, "I called her the next day, and we talked for 30 minutes about music and politics and growing up in the suburbs. She was beautiful, smart, and charming; making plans to meet up with her was both what I wanted to do and what my new therapist had told me to do." After dinner, they went back to his place, where Lana — then a platinum-blonde aspiring musician singing under her given name, Lizzy Grant — ribbed him about his over-the-top displays of wealth and played some of her music for him on the piano. "I sat next to her on the piano bench and started kissing her. She kissed me back — but then stopped," Moby writes. "'What's wrong?' I asked. 'I like you. But I hear you do this with a lot of people.' I wanted to lie, to tell her that I didn't, that I was chaste, sane, and ethical. But I said nothing. 'I'd like to see you again,' she said. 'Me too.' I walked her downstairs to the 29th floor and kissed her good night at the bank of the elevators. This wasn't how I imagined the night ending. I'd assumed that we would end up christening my new apartment with vodka and sex. But to my surprise, this was almost nicer."
During an interview with The Times that hit the Internet on May 19, Sophie Turner dished on some rough patches in her relationship with Joe Jonas, whom she married on May 1: "I was going through this phase of being very mentally unwell [when we first met in 2016]," she told the British newspaper. "He was like, 'I can't be with you until you love yourself, I can't see you love me more than you love yourself.' … That was something, him doing that. I think he kind of saved my life, in a way." The "Game of Thrones" star, who's been open about her mental health issues, then revealed that she and the singer once briefly called it quits: "It was the worst day of our lives," she said of the super-short split. On May 18, TMZ revealed that Tyga and Jordan Craig, who both have ties to the Kardashian-Jenner clan, secretly tied the knot back in September 2010 and then filed for divorce just a month later. In 2012, Tyga welcomed a son, King, with Blac Chyna, who was later engaged to Rob Kardashian, with whom she has a daughter, Dream. The rapper then dated Kylie Jenner off and on for several years. Jordan, meanwhile, has a son, Prince, with Tristan Thompson, who also has a daughter, True, with Khloe Kardashian. The professional basketball player started seeing the reality star while Jordan was pregnant. Later, he got busted for cheating on Khloe while she was pregnant.
On the May 20 episode of divorce attorney Laura Wasser's "Divorce Sucks!" podcast, Khloe Kardashian said that, in spite of her messy divorce from basketball star Lamar Odom, she'd absolutely considering getting married again. But that doesn't mean she's ready to start dating yet following her recent split from Tristan Thompson, the father of her daughter True. "I'm not even thinking like that," she said of getting back out there, adding that she's preoccupied with her job, her baby girl and working on herself. "I'm just happy, and I want to filter through whatever I feel like I need to filter through [following the split]. But my focus right now is True. I don't feel a sense or urgency to be in a relationship or even to go on a date. I don't want to." She also opened up about moving on from her divorce: "I do know that as [messed up] as it all feels while you're going through [a divorce], I've learned from my first ex-husband that it's gonna be OK, and no matter how hard and everything it is, love [is worth it]," said the reality star, adding that her breakup from Lamar was "so hard" because it was the first time she truly got her heart broken. "I put my all into that marriage," she continued. "I think me knowing that I could survive that [breakup] and, like, it's gonna be OK and life gets better… But I look at life from always a positive aspect. I would rather have experienced those moments that I had of greatness and then I had to lose it than never to have experienced that ever. … Life is about love and breaking up, and then you'll find someone again once you heal. Meanwhile, Us Weekly reported on May 21 that, according to a source, Lamar Odom "would still love to be with" ex-wife Khloe Kardashian, who filed to divorce the basketball player twice — first in 2013 and then in 2016 — amid his near-fatal battle with drug addiction. "There's no beef between [them] at this time," said the source of the former couple. "He's always had love for her and her family." Lamar is expected to address his relationship with Khloe in his upcoming book, "Darkness to Light: A Memoir."
Also on the May 20 episode of divorce attorney Laura Wasser's "Divorce Sucks!" podcast, Khloe Kardashian gave the closest thing to a confirmation that anyone has offered thus far that Sophia Hutchins is Caitlyn Jenner's girlfriend. When asked if Caitlyn is dating a woman, Khloe replied, "Yes, I believe that she is a transgendered woman as well. She's really, really sweet too. … She's younger but, like, she's not bothering anyone. She's super-sweet." In the past, Sophia had said that she wouldn't describe her relationship with Caitlyn as romantic, though they've confirmed that they live together and "share a life together." The duo, who've mutually referred to their relationship as a partnership were first linked in late 2017.
During her performance at the 2019 Gracie Awards Gala in Beverly Hills on May 21, Sheryl Crow cracked a joke about her broken engagements: "I've been engaged three times, and I never got married, but I've had a rockin' great time not getting married," she said, according to Us Weekly. In 2005, Lance Armstrong proposed to the singer-songwriter, who also enjoyed high-profile relationships with Eric Clapton and Owen Wilson, though it's unclear if she was engaged to either of them — her other two fiancés' identities have yet to be revealed publicly.
Lo Bosworth revealed her relationship with former "Shark Tank" contestant Jimmy DeCicco on Instagram on May 21. "babe land," the former star of "The Hills" captioned a black-and-white selfie with her beau, who previously appeared on her Instagram page in April, though it was unclear at the time that they were anything more than friends. She also alluded to having a man on Instagram in February.
During an interview for the cover of the June 2019 issue of Men's Health, which hit the Internet on May 22, Joe Manganiello opened up about life with wife Sofia Vergara: "My life is great because I really like my wife," he said. "I like talking to her. I like goofing around with her. We laugh all day long every day. My favorite thing in the world is making my wife laugh so much she cries. It's the best." He added of being involved with a strong, successful woman, "I love that she knows how to take care of herself, obviously, because I needed to be with somebody confident. It takes a really strong and secure individual to handle the types of projects I've done. But when we're at home, we're opposite in all the best ways and we're compatible in all the best ways. During an interview for the cover of the June 2019 issue of Vogue Australia, which hit the Internet on May 17, Kendall Jenner opened up about why she's kept her relationship with Ben Simmons so private: "I got a glimpse of how my sisters dealt with [the attention to their relationships] and it's cool to learn from that," she said. "I personally think that bringing things into the public makes everything so much messier. … Also I'm very young and right now I feel like relationships aren't always super-certain and I don't want to bring too much attention to something if you don't really know long term [what it's going to be]…" As for the rumors that an engagement could be in her future, "Maybe. Definitely not now, but maybe one day," said the model, who reportedly streamed her beau's basketball game and chatted with him on FaceTime during the Vogue photo shoot. But just days later on May 22, Page Six reported that Kendall and Ben had broken up. A source who spoke to People magazine characterized things this way: "They're on a break."
Kristen Stewart and Stella Maxwell, who called it quits in late 2018, sparked reconciliation rumors when they stepped out for dinner in Los Angeles on May 20 and then headed back to the former "Twilight" star's home. But according to an Us Weekly source, the pair aren't getting back together: "Stella is saying that she is just friends with Kristen," said the source.
On good terms! According to Page Six, Pete Davidson followed his ex-girlfriend, Kate Beckinsale, on Instagram around 3 a.m. on May 21 and liked a recent slideshow of photos of the actress and her parents. She returned the kindness by following him back. The duo called it quits in April after several months of dating.
In other friendly-exes news… Big Sean referenced former love Ariana Grande in "Thank You," his song with DJ Khaled from the latter's "Father of Asahd" album, which dropped on May 17. "I pray that all your growing pains turn gold champagne / Plus I gotta thank my exes on some 'thank u, next' s—," he raps. The former couple, who sparked reconciliation rumors in February, rekindled their friendship around the time that the singer-actress released "thank u, next," on which she sings, "Thought I'd end up with Sean / but he wasn't a match."
During a May 20 chat with Us Weekly, Kaitlyn Bristowe said that although she and her ex-fiancé, Shawn Booth, "don't talk or anything," there's no bad blood between them: "If I ran into him on the street, I would say, 'Hey, how's it going?' It's not like there's any hate there," she said, adding that there are no unresolved issues between them. "We can be civil, but we're also not talking, so that's it," said the former star of "The Bachelorette." She also gushed of her new beau, Jason Tartick, "He's such a positive person and he's just a happy-go-lucky, good guy, and it's just, his energy is amazing to be around. … I feel extremely happy and lucky to have found him."
During a May 16 chat with Us Weekly, Victor Garber shared his thoughts on longtime pal Jennifer Garner's new boyfriend, John Miller. After confirming that he's met John, Victor called the entrepreneur "adorable" and said that he and the actress are "great" together. "What's wonderful is they're taking their time and they are just enjoying each other's company," added the "Alias" alum, who officiated when Jennifer married Ben Affleck back in 2005.
Page Six reported on May 17 that "Home and Away" actress Pia Miller is dating talent agent Patrick Whitesell, the estranged husband of Jeff Bezos's girlfriend Lauren Sanchez, who filed for divorce in April. "They've just been on a couple of dates so far, so we'll see," said a source. According to the New York Post's gossip column, friends of the Australian soap star, who was born in Chile, "are buzzing excitedly about the potential couple."
During an interview with People magazine that hit the Internet on May 18, Tim Conway's widow Charlene described the Emmy-winning actor as "a gift" and characterized him as a "devoted" and "funny" husband and father. "People say that nothing is perfect and truly nothing ever is," she said. "But we had a marriage that… I feel that the two of us were meant to be together. We were just one mind and heart. And it was 35 years of heaven. I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true." The former star of "The Carol Burnett Show" died at 85 on May 14.
