Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in mid-July 2020, starting with this off-and-on duo… On July 14, Us Weekly broke the news that Scott Disick and Sofia Richie have officially reconciled just two months after calling it quits. "They weren't getting along before — hence the split," said a source, noting that the duo "worked on having a life separate from each other" but ultimately decided to give their romance another shot. "They are hanging out again romantically. … It's back on," added the insider. Said a second source, "Sofia wanted Scott to get through and overcome any issues he has, and Scott wanted to put a bigger focus on himself and his family before any sort of romantic relationship. … Scott's family is always what is most important to him." Yet another source said that the father of three "has been much more calm and responsive to people outside of his family over the last month or so" and that the issues he was having with Sofia "have simmered down and Scott has returned to a place where Sofia feels comfortable being around him and being in his life again." The duo sparked reconciliation rumors when they spent the Fourth of July together in Malibu. On July 12, the model again hinted at a reconciliation when she took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of herself watching TV in Scott's living room. On the July 10 episode of Jada Pinkett Smith's Facebook Watch series "Red Table Talk," the 48-year-old actress admitted that she did, in fact, have a romantic "entanglement" with August Alsina about four years ago while she and husband Will Smith were briefly separated. She and the A-list actor explained that they became close with the singer, who's now 27, amid his battle with an autoimmune disease. "[We] were going through a very difficult time," Jada said. "I was done with you," replied Will. "You kicked me to the curb," she confirmed, adding that they "basically broke up." Recalled the "Independence Day" star, "We decided that we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out how to make yourself happy and I'll figure out how to make myself happy. … I really felt like we could be over." She added that the breakup was "indefinite" and that they "were over." That's when she "got into a different kind of entanglement with August." At that point, she cleared up the public misconception that Will gave August "permission" to date her, saying that she's the only one with that power and that "what August was probably trying to communicate" is that she and Will were "separated amicably" and "that he's not a homewrecker — which he's not." Will then challenged his wife's use of the word "entanglement" and pushed her to clarify that she and August had a relationship. "It was a relationship, absolutely," she said. "I was in a lot of pain, and I was very broken. … I just wanted to feel good. It had been so long since I felt good." Jada went on to explain that she was drawn to August because his health problems triggered her codependency issues — it was easier to focus on healing him than healing herself, she said. Ultimately, Jada did "some really deep healing" that brought her back to her husband. "I would definitely say we did everything that we could to get away from each other, only to realize that that wasn't possible," she said at one point. She also said that she doesn't look at her "entanglement" with August — who "decided to break all communication" with Will and Jada and hasn't spoken to them since — "as a transgression at all" because she's grown so much as a person partially because of it. Will and Jada concluded the episode by discussing how committed they are to their relationship and overcoming any obstacles together as a united front. "We have really gotten to that new place of unconditional love," said the actress, admitting that they "never ever, ever thought that we would make it back" to each other after the split. "I wasn't sure I was ever going to speak to you again. The fact that I'm speaking to you again is a miracle," said Will, who later recalled that he told his wife during the first year of their marriage that he could "love her through anything." They closed things out by giving each other a fist-bump and riffing on his movie "Bad Boys For Life" by saying in unison, "We ride together. We die together. Bad marriage for life!" Before rolling to credits, Jada told Will, "Yeah, you're awesome."

Us Weekly reported on July 14 that, according to a source, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith are "good, happy and strong" in the wake of their headline-making "Red Table Talk" episode about her relationship with August Alsina. "Jada and Will have always been open about the fact that they have a true partnership and are united in life and love forever," the source said, adding that they decided to address August's claims publicly because "they didn't want to let this ordeal drag on any further" and wanted to shut down the rumors before the situation "got messier and dragged on into a bigger story with more white lies." Continued the insider, "They are a very vulnerable and open pair, and they felt this was the best move for their family. This wouldn't even be a story if they weren't famous — it's a normal situation — break up, get back together. … It's really frustrating to the whole family that their personal life is blasted out into the open, but they're used to it. But when you look at the facts, Will and Jada's situation is something that any normal couple could go through. Couples go through things, really hard things, but when it's true love, they reconcile and come out of it stronger." Said a second Us Weekly source, "The Smiths as a family are really glad they addressed this and put everything out in the open. Will and Jada, at the end of the day, are like a normal couple who just happen to be glorified because they're famous. They have fought. They have reconciled. At the end of the day, they do love each other. … At the end of the day, what hasn't changed is the love that Will and Jada have for each other." Echoed yet another Us Weekly source, "It's been a trying few weeks for the Smiths, but they're unbreakable. Their bond, resilience and ability to shake off rumors with a grain of salt can — and will — get them through anything."

Meanwhile, Keke Palmer was dragged into the Smith family drama after an old photo of her and August Alsina sitting in a car together resurfaced on Twitter. When a fan asked her about the pic on July 10, the actress replied, "August was never my man lol." The singer quickly caught wind of Keke's tweet and fired back, "[You're] absolutely right. I was NEVER [your] man. … It seems [you're] mad you got curved." He went on to allege that they dated — and that he was the one who called things off between them after her pals showed him "an endless thread" of texts in which the former child star "worried about" who else he was dating at the time. According to August, her friends "begged" him not to "further disturb [her] mental instability." He later tweeted that he was legitimately into Keke at one point "so to see her covertly speaking subliminal shade around my name over the past week is deeply perplex[ing]." Added August, "I don't and never have had a problem [with] the girl. It's always been Virgo love! So to see that is a mind [trip] to me." Keke then took the conversation to Instagram (without mentioning August or his allegations about their past directly), captioning a selfie, "I wanna be mean, but I can't. I want to post screenshots, but I won't. I feel attacked, but It's not about me. It's about so much more than that and as much as I want to defend myself against the disrespect I have received (cause I mean I'm not nice all the time) this is about something so much bigger. I wouldn't feel good kicking someone when they are down because it's so easy to attack when you're in a corner, I get it. People be hurting y'all and most of the time it has nothing to do with you. Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers took to Instagram on July 10 to release identical statements announcing that — less than two months after celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary — they're calling it quits. "Thirteen years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents. It has been an incredible journey, but together, we've decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage. As we enter into this next chapter, our children and relationship as co-parents and dear friends will remain our priority," they each captioned a photo from early in their relationship. Following the announcement, a People magazine source said of the former couple, "They both still love each other very much and they've always been such a close-knit family. I know their main focus right now is their kids and making sure nothing changes for them." On July 12, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, the parents of two "have been having trouble in their marriage for quite a while" now and have each been "doing their own thing." Said a second source, "The decision to separate was not one that they made lightly. They didn't wake up one day and suddenly decide. They are best friends and love each other very much. Right now, their biggest concern is their children and how this change will impact them. Their children are their top priority and always will be. The split is amicable and they will work through this difficult time with love and respect." TMZ, meanwhile, reported that there were discrepancies in the duo's divorce paperwork: In Elizabeth's petition for divorce, she cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, asks for sole physical custody of their two children and lists their date of separation as July. In his response, which was filed concurrently, the actor asks for joint legal and physical custody and lists their date of separation as January. (The date of separation will affect spousal support — courts typically award more if a couple has been married for more than a decade.) According to the webloid's sources, the pair did not sign a prenup before they tied the knot.
On July 13 — nearly a year after Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton were first romantically linked — The Sun reported that the former "Betrayal" co-stars are still going strong. According to the British tabloid, the actress recently moved in with the Marvel star at his home in Atlanta, where he went into lockdown while shooting the Disney+ series "Loki." Said a source, "Tom and Zawe have stayed quiet about their relationship but she has spent the last few weeks with him in the U.S. They are very well suited and enjoy the quieter side of life away from the glitz and glamour of the showbiz world. Their lives are typically very busy, so spending time together while not working has been something they have both embraced. Tom has made a home in Atlanta during lockdown and he is expecting to spend the rest of the year there."
On the July 14 episode of Howard Stern's eponymous SiriusXM radio show, Jim Carrey doubled down on claims in his new book, "Memoirs and Misinformation," that former flame Renee Zellweger is the "great love" of his life. "She was special to me — very special. I think she's lovely," he said, adding that although he doesn't "pine for" the actress or consider her the one who got away, he recognizes that "there was a very important thing" between them. The duo dated after they shot the 2000 comedy "Me, Myself & Irene" and were briefly engaged.
On July 10, Lisa Stelly took to Instagram to reveal that she and Skylar Astin are an item. "Is that a bottle of mini champagne in your pocket or u just happy to see me @skylarastin?" the Fancy Sprinkles founder, who was previously married to Jack Osbourne, captioned a photo of herself and the "Pitch Perfect" star going in for a kiss. The following day, the "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" actor, who was previously married to Anna Camp, shared a photo of himself and the mother of three looking cozy in a swimming pool. He also called out an Us Weekly report about going Instagram official with "Jack Osbourne's ex-wife," tweeting, "Correction: I am dating FOUNDER, ENTREPRENEUR, MOTHER, CCO, etc, Lisa Stelly. On July 11, Brooklyn Beckham took to Instagram to announce that he and his girlfriend of less than a year, Nicola Peltz, are engaged. "Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes xx I am the luckiest man in the world. I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day. I love you baby," he captioned a photo of himself and the actress posing with her new engagement bling on full display. "You've made me the luckiest girl in the world. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life by your side. Your love is the most precious gift. I love you so so much baby," the "Bates Motel" star captioned a similar shot.
On July 13, People magazine reported that a week earlier — on July 6 — Princess Love filed paperwork to have her divorce from Ray J dismissed. According to a Page Six source, the volatile couple have reconciled and are living together again.
On July 15, People magazine broke the news that Beverly Johnson is engaged to Brian Maillian. "This is the first time I've dated someone so close to my age! We know the same songs and we've lived through a lot of the same things," said the 67-year-old supermodel, who accepted a marriage proposal from the 70-year-old financier during a trip to Palm Springs with members of their extended family. "Finding the love of my life at this point in my life has been amazing," gushed the bride-to-be, who's been married twice before.
On July 11, Darius Rucker took to Instagram to announce that he and his wife of 20 years, Beth Leonard, are calling it quits. "Beth and I would like to share that after much reflection we have made the decision to consciously uncouple. We remain close friends and parenting partners and continue to be each other's biggest cheerleaders. Our priority will always be our beautiful family. We have so much love in our hearts for each other and will continue to encourage growth and expansion in one other. Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph's recent breakup is turning nasty! The trouble started when the blonde beauty briefly mentioned the split on the July 6 episode of "The Bachelor – The Greatest Seasons Ever," saying that she wanted to keep the details surrounding their split private out of respect to her ex. Three days later, the former star of "The Bachelor" reacted on Instagram, captioning a photo of himself, "These last few weeks have been challenging because, by now, you all know I'm an open book and I enjoy sharing my life with y'all. When our relationship ended we agreed to handle things as privately as possible as we attempted to navigate our new relationship as friends. I chose to do that since we were living in this interim period, but obviously a lot changed this week. Every experience provides us with an opportunity for growth. Cassie Randolph slammed Colton Underwood on her Instagram Story on July 9 — even occasionally addressing him directly: "I do not wish to create an online petty war. Colton, as you know we made an agreement to not publicly discuss our breakup. I have honored this, as have you thus far," she wrote, adding that she "purposefully remained private and vague out of respect" to her ex and their relationship while discussing the split on "The Bachelor – The Greatest Seasons Ever." She explained that she chose to appear on the show because she's grateful for the impact Bachelor Nation has had on her life: "I have no regrets, gained a great boyfriend and a healthy 1 1/2 year relationship, incredible and unique opportunities, and a platform that I intend to use for good. I want to show appreciation. I didn't see any harm in doing the interview, as I wasn't going to dish out details about our relationship to them," she wrote. "Colton, your last Instagram post saddened me, but also left me frustrated. It seems you are subtly engaging in a tactic that peppers in passive aggressive comments such as 'that obviously changed this week' in order to make me look like the bad one." She then asked him "to refrain from discussing our relationship, as we agreed" and "don't cloud our great, 1 1/2 year relationship with a messy breakup." Continued the medical student, "We both know that we had a great relationship and there are not many details to discuss." But that wasn't the end of it: She went on to accuse Colton of attempting to "monetize our breakup" by adding a chapter to his memoir — "The First Time: Finding Myself and Looking for Love on Reality TV," which debuted in late March — detailing his experience with COVID-19 and his recovery at her family's home in Huntington Beach, California, as well as their subsequent breakup. "You have also refused to give me any sort of approval on the chapter you will be writing, which will heavily feature me. … This seems a bit unfair to me. Colton, you can do what you want, but please do not have a double standard," she wrote. "I ask you again on public record to refrain from prolonging our breakup, or dragging me, when we both know it's unwarranted. … I can't control your actions but I sincerely hope we can both move forward in peace." Concluded Cassie, "I would prefer this to now be the end of this. I wish you nothing but the best and hope you can move on peacefully and successfully." The following day, Colton's rep released a statement claiming that Cassie's "accusations are simply not true."
On July 9, Fox News published an exclusive statement from Courtney Stodden detailing her rumored romance with Brian Austin Green. She alleges that she was dating the former teen heartthrob but "blocked him after several other women who he was playing came forward." Said Courtney, "I stand with them and I believe them." She also called the actor "a womanizer" and said that he wanted her "to remain his little secret." She went on to say that she was "stunned" to hear that Brian called her "disappointing" and accused her of trying to "create problems" for him and another woman he's seeing, model Tina Louise, while chatting with a paparazzi videographer. "He looks a bit unhinged," she said, adding that "the truth is that Brian is disappointed in himself." On July 12, Denise Richards took to Instagram to share a video of herself looking glam. "I am f—— Denise Richards," she proudly says into the camera … which prompted rumored former flame Brandi Glanville to comment, "OMG ME TOO!" There's been some debate between the two women, who both appear on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," over whether or not they hooked up early in the "Starship Troopers" star's marriage to Aaron Phypers. On July 14, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, Denise and her hubby are "doing great" in spite of the drama with Brandi. "They're better than ever. They are really great together," said the source. "They're unbothered by upcoming ['Housewives'] story lines or any speculation about their marriage because they know it's solid." Meanwhile, a July 15 teaser of an upcoming episode of "RHOBH" showed Brandi calling Aaron and Denise "codependent-ish" and telling them that she wants "to be a throuple" with them.
During an interview with Page Six that popped up online on July 13, Christine Quinn said that she wasn't surprised her "Selling Sunset" co-star Chrishell Stause split from Justin Hartley because she and their castmates "heard that they were in therapy" and thought "they were having communication problems for a while." Said Christine, "Obviously there were some issues going on with them." Chrishell soon caught wind of Christine's comments and took to Twitter to shut them down: "I just learned Christine is giving press 'information' about my divorce. Let me be VERY clear. She knows absolutely nothing about the situation and is obviously desperate to gain attention by doing so. Anything from her is either a complete lie or total conjecture on her part," tweeted Chrishell, who was already on the outs with Christine. "It's so frustrating and unfortunate that someone would use someone's personal painful situation to get press for themselves. I can't say I am surprised, but please check the source. She has absolutely zero knowledge of the marriage we had," Chrishell wrote in a second tweet.
On July 12, Bella Thorne sparked rumors that she and her boyfriend of a year, Benjamin Mascolo, got engaged when she took to Instagram to share a video of herself tussling her hair while wearing what appeared to be a diamond engagement ring. "Soon to be [diamond-ring emoji]," she initially captioned the clip. (After raising questions about their relationship status, she changed the caption to just the ring emoji.) Earlier this month, the former child star reunited with her beau in Mexico after five months apart due to the coronavirus pandemic. When a fan commented to ask how there can be no "entanglements" between Nick and Jessica (pictured with Amber Rose in 2015) when he's expecting another child with ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell, the mother of his son Golden, Jessica replied, "Nick and I have been together off and on for years. Their new child was conceived when we had temporarily broken up. Any child is a blessing. This is the last time I will answer these questions. I am no home wrecker at all. Nick was a free man at that time and can be with whoever he so chooses and for years that person has always been me. That is between him and Britney I support him through thick and thin as he does the same for me. Have a blessed day. I hope this clears up people's misconceptions as I am being honest about this situation which is delicate and complicated. Carrie Underwood took to Instagram on July 10 to celebrate her 10th wedding anniversary with husband Mike Fisher. "Hey you two crazy kids. Believe it or not, some day you both will become (slightly) less awkward, you'll grow up to have pretty cool jobs, you'll meet backstage at some girl's concert, fall in love, get married, have two amazing boys, and live happily ever after!" she captioned a side-by-side image of herself and the former professional hockey player as kids. "These past 10 years have been pretty incredible with you, @mfisher1212! Here's to many many more…without the bowl cuts! I love you and I thank the good Lord that He brought those two kids together! Said the source, "Their time with family has been amazing for them, and Carrie and Mike are growing closer together throughout quarantine and learning more and more about each other. Carrie and Mike have been keeping to themselves, but Carrie is telling friends she is doing really well with the lockdown and really enjoying family time."
On the July 13 episode of Dax Shepard's "Armchair Expert" podcast, John Legend admitted that he "did have a history" of cheating on girlfriends in his 20s — before he settled down with Chrissy Teigen. Because he was two years younger than his classmates growing up, he "didn't get a lot of girls," he explained. "And when I started to get that attention, I loved it — just ate it up," he said, adding that he "escaped technically cheating" by keeping his relationships "ill-defined," though ultimately, he knew it was still "really cheating." Acknowledged the singer, "You can try to get off on technicalities. … I was dishonest and selfish and just enjoyed this new attention I was getting." That all changed when he met the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model. "At a certain point you just realize, like, you're happier being honest," he said. "And you're happier being faithful and being in love with one person. And at a certain point, I just decided that that person was Chrissy and I … decided I wasn't going to mess with anybody else anymore." He then called monogamy "so much easier." Concluded the father of two, "Your whole life is lighter. Like, when you're able to be honest with the person and, like, you aren't hiding texts … your mind is freer. On July 14, Page Six excerpted Colin Jost's musings on his fiancée, Scarlett Johansson, in his new memoir, "A Very Punchable Face." The "Saturday Night Live" star writes of the actress, "I've met someone I love and who I feel more comfortable with than I ever have before." He also details how they first met back in 2006 when she hosted "SNL" for the first time while he was serving as a writer on the sketch-comedy series: "She claims that she remembers thinking I was 'cute' but I know what I looked like and that's not the word I would have used. ('Shaggy' would have been more generous. 'Slovenly' would have been more accurate)," he writes. "I remember her being beautiful, smart, sweet, and intimidatingly sophisticated," he continues. "And she had a grace and a smile that I've still never seen in any other human." In the book's acknowledgments section, he addresses the Oscar nominee directly, writing, "Thank you to Scarlett for being my first reader and for always protecting me from my worst instincts. During an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" that hit the Internet on July 14, Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan said that they're deeply in love and planning their future together. "Everything I put Kelley through… I'm still working to make it up to her for not picking her. And I'm never going to stop," the former star of "The Bachelor" said, adding that he's "never had this confidence from a relationship before." Gushed the pilot, "With Kelley, it literally sounds so cliché — I can just be myself. She truly gets me. She's my biggest fan and she supports me and she's always there for me. I know I have my partner in crime forever. … She is, I truly believe, the perfect person for me. And I feel so blessed to have this have worked out." Chimed in Kelley, "There's always something about Peter that I knew I just was madly in love. I just knew we'd get along." She added that they've "sat down and talked everything through" and that their relationship "makes a lot more sense" from their perspective than from that of fans who watched Peter choose other women over her on the show. "We've just done a good job of reassuring each other and just explaining why I did things, and owning up to my faults and just being a better person moving forward," said Peter. On the July 7 episode of Sue Perkins' "An Hour or So With…" podcast, Florence Pugh reacted to criticism of her age-mismatched relationship with Zach Braff, who's more than 20 years her senior. "I've always found it funny how I can be good enough for people to watch my work and support my work and pay for tickets, and I'm old enough to be an adult and pay taxes, but I'm not old enough to know who I should and should not have sex with," she said. "Once again, [it's] making a young woman feel like s— for no reason. I think I did feel s— for a while about admitting that, and then I thought, 'How ridiculous is that?'" Continued the Oscar-nominated actress, "I'm 24 and I can't choose who I love. … There's a reason why I'm not with someone my age: It hasn't worked. So who are you trying to match me up with?"
During a joint interview with WSJ. Magazine that hit the Internet on July 14, Miranda Kerr and her husband, Evan Spiegel, dished on how they first met at a 2014 Louis Vuitton event in New York City — and how the supermodel made the first move with the Snapchat co-founder. The duo were seated next to each other at the party, and Miranda started chatting him up. Eventually, they exchanged numbers — but then he abruptly left. When the former Victoria's Secret Angel still hadn't heard from Evan after a month passed, she hit him up. "I thought I had no chance [with her], so I wasn't going to waste my time," he explained.
According to The Blast, Daniel Gillies filed to divorce Rachael Leigh Cook on July 10 — more than a year after the former star of "The Originals" and the "She's All That" actress announced they were calling it quits.
