Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in April 2020, starting with this confusing couple… In early March, there were reports that Julianne Hough and her husband of two years, Brooks Laich, were "totally fine" after working through "a rough patch" in their marriage. Then in mid-April, it became clear that the duo were quarantining separately amid the coronavirus pandemic, with the singer-actress passing time at their home in Los Angeles while the former hockey star does "a mass cleaning" of their 10-acre property in Idaho. (On April 15, People magazine reported that, according to a source, they're "still together" but just "like to do their own thing." Said the source, "Their marriage is not perfect, but they continue to work on it. They speak all the time. Brooks is coming back to L.A. once the stay-home order is lifted.") On April 16 — as their unique arrangement raised questions about the status of their marriage — Julianne stepped out with handsome "The Chronicles of Narnia" actor Ben Barnes (see photos here), indicating that they're in quarantine together. (The duo, who were photographed together in 2016, have reportedly been friends for years.) The following day, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, Julianne and Brooks "are not doing well." But publicly, they both put positive spins on their arrangement: On the April 21 episode of his "How Men Think" podcast, Brooks said that he's "been good with the isolation" in Idaho and would "probably be a little more antsy" if it weren't for his dog. He also mentioned that he misses "the friendships and companionships where you do get to hug somebody and be in the same room" … but noticeably failed to mention whether or not he misses his wife. (When he took to Instagram to promote the podcast by sharing a photo of himself sporting bushy facial hair, the former "Dancing With the Stars" pro responded with a flirty comment: "That beard though," she wrote along with the heart-eyes emoji.) Then during an April 22 Instagram Live, Julianne said that she and her husband are "kind of doing our separate things right now." Kate Beckinsale was snapped holding hands with Goody Grace during a hike in Los Angeles on April 12. The 46-year-old actress and the 22-year-old Canadian crooner were also seen together at a pre-Grammys party on Jan. 25 (pictured), though it was unclear at the time that they're an item. According to a People magazine source, they've been dating "since the beginning of the year" and are quarantining together at the "Underworld" star's home in the Los Angeles area. "They have fun and Kate seems happy. His age is not an issue for her. It's just a number," said the insider, adding that Goody is "talented, driven and mature beyond his age." Goody, by the way, is less than two years older than Kate's daughter, Lily Sheen, with former longtime partner Michael Sheen. "Kate's daughter isn't bothered by the fact that Kate likes younger guys and she is just used to it at this point," said an Us Weekly source, noting that the mother-daughter duo are "still very close" and have a "great" relationship. "Kate is attracted to younger guys that are creative — that's just her type," continued the insider (Kate's previously made headlines for her romances with younger men including comedians Pete Davidson, 26, Matt Rife, 24, and Jack Whitehall, 31). "She likes surrounding herself with them because she likes being 'in the know' and up to date on what's cool."

On April 4, People magazine reported that Channing Tatum and Jessie J recently called it quits for the second time. "They cared enough about each other to try again but realized it was better to move on," said a source, adding that the breakup is "totally amicable." The duo first split in late 2019 following a little more than a year of coupledom. They debuted their rekindled romance in January but hadn't been seen together since late February. They sparked split speculation when the actor failed to publicly wish the singer a happy birthday when she turned 32 on March 27. Meanwhile, a source told The Sun that it's likely the off-and-on couple will get back together somewhere down the line.

What. A. Mess… Peter Weber kicked off the month by conducting several wide-ranging podcast interviews discussing the fallout from his season of "The Bachelor." On the April 6 episode of Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti's "Almost Famous" podcast, he said that he and Kelley Flanagan — with whom he reunited earlier this year after she competed for his heart on the dating show — aren't officially an item, though he admitted that he's "definitely crushing on her" and that something could happen between them in the future. (On April 10, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, Kelley "really likes" Peter and "has been into him since the day they met" … before they appeared on the show. "She was genuinely hurt, upset and confused when she was eliminated," said the source.) Peter also shed some light on what went wrong with his two finalists, Hannah Ann Sluss and Madison Prewett, saying that he legitimately fell in love with both of them and isn't sure who he ultimately would've picked if Madi hadn't walked away from the competition — although he was heartbroken when she left the show, he wasn't necessarily set on choosing her over Hannah Ann, he said. He also noted that he and Hannah Ann ultimately didn't work out because they aren't compatible — not just because he had unresolved feelings for Madison. As for Madi, he added that they probably wouldn't have tried to give it another shot if Bachelor Nation host Chris Harrison hadn't reached out to her — and like Hannah Ann, they simply aren't compatible. The pilot also shut down Hannah Ann's allegations that after he proposed to her, he still needed to "find closure" with ex Hannah Brown: According to Peter, the former star of "The Bachelorette" direct messaged him on Instagram after she watched the first episode of his season of "The Bachelor" — on which she appeared. "I had asked Hannah Ann if it would be OK if I could communicate with Hannah Brown. She told me that it was fine as long as I didn't see her in person. … She was, obviously, a little hesitant … and that's why I wanted to be transparent with her about everything," he said, adding that he and the "Dancing With the Stars" champ are "very supportive of each other" and share "a really good mutual respect." On the April 9 episode of Kaitlyn Bristowe's "Off the Vine" podcast, Hannah Ann Sluss said that she was "very committed to making it work" with Peter Weber but acknowledged that their breakup after he proposed on last season of "The Bachelor" "definitely didn't come out of nowhere." Madison Prewett was less kind. On the April 21 episode of "Off the Vine," Madi — who left the show only to briefly rekindle things with Peter — made it clear that her feelings for the pilot were the real deal and that they both fought hard for their relationship. She also called her decision to leave the show "a selfless act," explaining that in spite of how she felt about Peter, she thought that he and Hannah Ann made "more sense" together. She also implied that Peter told her he definitely planned to pick her over Hannah Ann — directly contradicting what he said earlier in the month. As for their brief reconciliation after Peter and Hannah Ann split, Madi insisted that they weren't officially back together when they reunited on camera for the "After the Final Rose" special. The disastrous results played a direct role in her decision to walk away from Peter for good, she said. After that, she told Kaitlyn that she and Kelley Flanagan "were best friends" and "inseparable throughout the entire process" of shooting season 24 of "The Bachelor." She then dropped two major bombshells: First, she heard rumors that Peter and Kelley were talking and meeting up while he was still working on his relationships with both her and Hannah Ann, and second, Peter tried to get back together with her just two days before he and Kelley were seen together in Chicago for the first time. "He was, like, calling me and texting me being like, 'I miss you, let's get back together,'" Madi claimed, adding that she was completely caught off guard to see Kelley and Peter spending time together and really hurt that neither of them gave her a heads up. She recalled telling Peter, "Two days ago, you were telling me how much you loved me and wanted to get back together and now you're with the one person that was my best friend." Despite her confusion and disappointment, she shared encouraging words for both her ex and her former pal, whom she noted she hasn't spoken to "in a really long time." Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich aren't the only ones quarantined separately amid the coronavirus pandemic… Bruce Willis raised questions about the status of his marriage when he decided to quarantine with his ex-wife, Demi Moore, and their three adult daughters — Rumer Willis, Scout Willis and Tallulah Willis — rather than with his current missus, Emma Heming, and their two young daughters: Mabel and Evelyn. On April 15, People magazine reported that, according to a source, "everything is great" between the action star and his wife of more than a decade. "Demi and Emma are close, and all three get on great as a big blended family. There are no issues at all. Emma needed to stay in L.A. with the young kids," said the insider. A second source added that Bruce and Demi "have been best friends for years" and are "very close." Speaking of couples spending quarantine apart… During an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" that popped up online on April 15, actress Rosario Dawson said that it's been "really challenging" being "so many thousands of miles apart" from her boyfriend, former presidential candidate Cory Booker, amid the pandemic — especially because the actress and the New Jersey senator, who was "in D.C. working on the stimulus package," were set to take their "longest vacation ever" in April. Instead, what was supposed to be their longest stretch of time together ended up being their "longest period apart."
The coronavirus pandemic has forced several former couples to make unique living arrangements. For example, Tristan Thompson is in quarantine with his ex-girlfriend, Khloe Kardashian, and their daughter, True — prompting Us Weekly to report on April 2 that, according to a source, the basketball star is "really stepping up to the plate" and fighting for his relationship with the reality star, who is "not completely open to letting [him] back in her life in a romantic way right now." … Meanwhile, Jesse Metcalfe and Cara Santana were seen together in Los Angeles on April 8, prompting speculation that they're working on their relationship of more than a decade after calling it quits in late January amid a cheating scandal. In photos published by DailyMail.com, the actor can be seen filling his car at a gas station as his former fiancée sits in the passenger seat. According to an Us Weekly source, however, "they are definitely not back together." The insider explained that the "Desperate Housewives" alum is living in the guest house at the home they own together. "They had to make the mature decision to deal with this situation together like many people going through a breakup right now," said the source. In still more quarantined-ex news… During an interview with "Access" that popped up on YouTube on April 13, La La Anthony said that she and off-and-on love Carmelo Anthony are quarantining together with their son, Kiyan, and other family members. (It's unclear whether or not they've reconciled romantically.) "It's actually been smooth sailing," said the former MTV VJ … with maybe not the best choice of words considering the basketball star's recent yacht scandal. … And finally, during an April 20 Instagram Live, Eva Amurri opened up about quarantining with her ex-husband, Kyle Martino, and their three kids, saying that although they've "come up against some conflicts," things have been "working well."
On April 16 Princess Beatrice and her fiancé, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, released a statement announcing that they're indefinitely postponing their plans to tie the knot amid the coronavirus pandemic. A spokesperson for the couple — who were set to wed at The Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace in London on May 29 — said they aren't even thinking about rescheduling during these difficult times. (In mid-March, there were reports that they planned to simply downscale their wedding.) In other delayed nuptials news… Us Weekly reported on April 14 that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez plan to tie the knot in Italy as soon as the pandemic has abated. "It was all planned out and paid for," said a source. "They obviously had to postpone it due to coronavirus, but J.Lo wants to marry A-Rod shortly after things go back to normal." On the April 7 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Jennifer said she doesn't know "what's gonna happen now as far as dates or anything like that" and that she and Alex are "just kind of in a holding pattern." … During an April 2 interview with Hollywood Life, "The Real Housewives of Orange County" star Vicki Gunvalson said that she and her fiancé, Steve Lodge, are indefinitely postponing their wedding plans. "We were going to go get married in April," she said, adding that she's "just not in a big [rush] to get down the aisle right now." … And on April 14, Us Weekly reported that former "Jersey Shore" star Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola and her fiancé, Christian Biscardi, pushed their wedding date to September amid the pandemic.
Us Weekly reported on April 15 that, according to a source, Demi Lovato's new boyfriend, Max Ehrich, "plans to propose" after the coronavirus pandemic has abated. "Their families wouldn't be surprised by the proposal. They think they make a great couple," added the insider. According to a second source, the duo have been "getting really serious" while self-isolating together. "The quarantine has been really great for Demi and her and Max have gotten so close," said the insider, adding that the soap star is "a really nice guy" and that he and Demi are "happy together."
On April 15, Bachelor Nation super-sleuth Reality Steve tweeted that former "The Bachelor" star Chris Soules is dating Victoria Fuller, who recently competed for Peter Weber's heart on season 24 of "The Bachelor" and previously romanced country music star Chase Rice. According to the blogger, they spent the week together in Iowa, where the farmer lives. Steve called the pairing "one of the more random" Bachelor Nation couplings and said that it's unclear "how long this has been going on or how serious it is." According to an Us Weekly source, Chris and Victoria recently connected when he slid into her DMs.
Us Weekly reported on April 25 that Timothee Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp called it quits after about a year of extremely lowkey coupledom — when the Oscar-nominated actor appeared in the May 2020 issue of British Vogue, the magazine noted that he's single. He and the model were first linked in late 2018. It's unclear when exactly they parted ways.
On April 6, People magazine broke the news that Jeannie Mai and Jeezy got engaged at his home in Los Angeles on March 27. The rapper originally planned to pop the question during an April vacation in Vietnam, but instead — due to travel restrictions brought on by the coronavirus pandemic — he proposed during a special at-home date night. In other quarantine engagement news… On the April 8 episode of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," Will Forte's father, Reb Forte, revealed that the former "Saturday Night Live" star is set to wed to his girlfriend of more than a year, Olivia Modling: During their pre-recorded joint appearance on the game show, Reb referred to his son as "currently engaged." The following week, People magazine reported that Will popped the question over the holidays. … Food Network star Anne Burrell took to Instagram on April 21 to announce that she and boyfriend Stuart Claxton — whom she met in 2018 via Bumble — are engaged. … And Al Roker's daughter, Courtney, revealed on Instagram on April 11 that she accepted a marriage proposal from her boyfriend, DJ Wesley Laga.
After a month of stoking speculation that she and Tyler Cameron are an item, Hannah Brown finally confirmed that she's single during an April 14 Instagram Live. While explaining why she's not in a rush to have children, she said, "You have to have a significant other for that — and I don't." Two weeks earlier, Tyler Cameron randomly crashed a group of girlfriends' quarantine Zoom chat and shared "the tea" on his rumored relationship with the former star of "The Bachelorette." Said the male model, "We are friends. She's a good friend."
In mid-April, Nicki Minaj sparked speculation that there's trouble in paradise with her husband of less than a year, Kenneth "Zoo" Petty, when she suddenly changed her name from "Mrs. Petty" to "Barbie" on Instagram and to "YIKES" on Twitter. (When she changed her name to Mrs. Petty on her social media profiles late last year, it was one of the first indications that she and her controversial beau had quietly tied the knot.) On April 14, Page Six reported that it's all much ado about nothing: "Nicki Minaj is still with her man," said a source. "It's just business as usual for her highness as she prepares to release new music." Echoed an Us Weekly source, "They're still together. Nicki has new music on the way, so she's preparing for the next era and readjusted her social media channels accordingly." ("Yikes," by the way, is the name of her latest single, while Barbie is one of the rapper's alter egos.)
Cole Sprouse took to his Instagram Story on April 19 to slam rumors he cheated on his off-and-on girlfriend, Lili Reinhart, with Kaia Gerber. (The rumors kicked off after the teen model posted some old photos of herself hanging out at Cole's house — which she later deleted.) On April 20, E! News reported that, according to a source, Cole and Lili are "still together" but have "been trying to be more low-key." Said the source, "They haven't been [in quarantine] together but haven't split. … Their relationship is always up and down but they do talk every day and care very much about one another." The insider also noted that "the photos of Kaia at Cole's house are old" and that the actor and the teen model "are just friends and have never been romantic."
On the April 8 episode of Howard Stern's eponymous SiriusXM show, Tom Brady dropped a major bombshell about his relationship with Gisele Bundchen: For a period of time back in 2018, the supermodel "wasn't satisfied" with their marriage. After confronting him about the fact that things weren't working for her, the duo went to couples counseling to get into a better place. The football star also opened up about how they met, recounting how a mutual friend set them up in late 2006 shortly after he split from Bridget Moynahan, who soon learned she was pregnant with their son, Jack. He added that although he wasn't looking to settle down at the time, Gisele "just came into my life at the right time."
In mid-April, Jim Edmonds confirmed rumors that he and former Playboy model Kortnie O'Connor are an item. After he took to his Instagram Story to share a series of photos of himself and the brunette beauty working out together at his home in St. Louis, his rep told People magazine, "Jim and Kortnie are in a relationship and in quarantine together." Back in January, Jim's estranged wife, Meghan King Edmonds, alleged that she and Jim once had a threesome with Kortnie. The former "The Real Housewives of Orange County" star also alleged that Jim and Kortnie later had an affair.
On April 1, E! News reported that John Mellencamp has been dating celebrity skincare expert Nurse Jamie Sue Sherrill "since the beginning of the year." Said a source, "They are really happy together. … They are both from the same small town in southern Indiana." It's the first public romance for John since he and Meg Ryan called it quits last year.
On the April 12 episode of "Watch What Happens Live," Kenya Moore said that although she and her estranged husband, Marc Daly, aren't quarantining together amid the coronavirus pandemic (she's in Atlanta while he's in New York City, where he has business commitments), they're still "together." She went on to explain that Marc wants to work on their marriage and "be a better person." She also said that she and the restauranteur have been "getting along better" than they have since they first tied the knot. Sadly, during an April 21 chat with "Extra," she admitted that she doesn't "know what the chances are" that they'll ultimately succeed in their efforts to reconcile. "Only God knows that," she said, adding that she'd "be super happy" if they were able to make it work because she and Marc share a daughter, Brooklyn. "If it doesn't, I think we'll all be OK," she concluded. Meanwhile, fans of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" were treated to an inside look at what exactly caused the couple to split last year: On the April 5 episode, Kenya alleged that Marc didn't want her communicating with his parents during their marriage. (She later clarified that he simply doesn't have a relationship with them.) She added to a friend that Marc isn't "able to just have a conversation without yelling or anger or crossing lines." Said Kenya, "It's always been this block up with him not letting me completely into his life. It's just a lot of things I felt like I was in the dark about."
On April 21, Page Six broke the news that Dina Lohan recently reconciled with her former longtime boyfriend, Jesse Nadler — whom she's still never met in person. The duo reconnected — and went Facebook official — after she got sober earlier this year, Jesse told the New York Post's gossip column, noting that they plan to meet in person after the quarantine ends.
During an interview with "Extra" that popped up online on April 10, NeNe Leakes finally shut down whispers that she and her husband, Gregg Leakes, have an open marriage. "No, it is not [open]," she said, adding that they're "doing a lot in the bedroom." She then made it clear that although she's "a flirt" — which her husband is "OK with" — she's "not sleeping with these men."
Us Weekly reported on April 1 that, according to a source, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are thriving as a couple amid the coronavirus pandemic after enduring a late-2019 hand-holding scandal. "Although the pandemic is very stressful, Jess is trying to look on the bright side of things and thinks the extra downtime that comes along with the situation is great for her and Justin's relationship," said the source. "They of course both have their moments of being irritated, but it has ultimately brought them closer and having the main focus be each other and [their son] Silas has been a good thing." The insider added that the duo are "enjoying being healthy and safe together" while quarantining in the mountains. They're also continuing to work on their marriage with couples counseling via Skype and FaceTime. "They make time to work on themselves and open up about their issues," said the source. "As a whole, they are having fun and have been getting along. They are doing well and are happy."
Irina Shayk and Vito Schnabel sparked romance rumors with back-to-back hangouts in New York City on March 31 and April 1. One Page Six source acknowledged that they're "hanging out," while another noted that "they've been friends for a really long time" and that it's unclear whether or not they recently took their relationship to the next level. "Vito has always been interested in Irina," said an Us Weekly source, noting that the art dealer and the model first met a couple years ago. "Vito is a very social person who likes to go out and have fun." He previously romanced Heidi Klum, Demi Moore, Elle Macpherson, Liv Tyler and Amber Heard, while she has a daughter with former love Bradley Cooper.
During an April 21 Instagram Live, Aaron Carter revealed that he and Melanie Martin are expecting a baby together. Earlier that day, the model shared the first indication that they'd reconciled following a late-March split when she posted a new photo of them kissing. Both Aaron and Melanie have since restored the old photos of them together that they archived on Instagram when they broke up.
Presley Gerber took to Instagram on April 17 to share a photo of himself and Sydney Brooke smooching. "Bonnie and Clyde," he wrote in the caption, seemingly confirming recent rumors they're an item. Late last month, the male model sang a different tune on Instagram: "We work together… literally," he captioned a March 28 paparazzi photo of himself and Sydney outside Café Habana Malibu restaurant, which is owned by his dad, Rande Gerber.
When the ESPN docuseries "The Last Dance" debuted on April 19, it brought Scottie Pippen — and allegations that his estranged wife, Larsa Pippen, cheated on him with rapper Future — back into the spotlight. On April 20, the mother of four defended herself on Twitter: "I was married to him for 20 years, I did everything for him and my family. People change and that's what really happened," she wrote in a since-deleted tweet. "Most people can't even imagine being in a relationship a week so I know it's beyond imagination. Cheating wasn't the problem."
The Sun on Sunday reported on April 5 that, according to a source, Tom Holland and Olivia Bolton "remain very close but decided recently it was best for them to be just friends rather than a couple." Added the alleged insider, "It was all very amicable and they both think it is for the best." The longtime family friends were first seen together in July 2019.
During an April 2 chat with "Extra," Luann de Lesseps said that she's currently single. "Maybe I should consider online dating at this point," she said. "I think it would fun maybe to flirt with somebody online. I have never done it before." It's unclear when exactly she and her off-and-on love, agent Rich Super, called it quits.
During an April 1 interview with Us Weekly, Catelynn Lowell shut down rumors that her husband, Tyler Baltierra, has been cheating on her. "Tyler and I are together all day every day! For people to think that he cheats is ridiculous and you obviously don't know his character because he would never be able to cheat and not tell me. It would drive him insane," she said. "Obviously this isn't the first time cheating rumors have popped up, but now it's gone to the level of being with his Instagram followers? Please! … I honestly think that people just have a hard time believing in our relationship. … I feel like they need to try and stir up drama in some ways. Doesn't anyone think that if this was really happening, there would be someone running to the tabloids with proof?" Continued the "Teen Mom" star, "We're happy, and these trolls with no lives sitting behind computer screens and phone screens have nothing better to do than try to stir the pot. Keep stirring, though, because this pot is very strong and won't collapse." She went on to call the rumors "utterly ridiculous at this point."
Us Weekly reported on April 20 that former "Big Brother" stars Kathryn Dunn and Nick Maccarone — who started seeing each other while shooting season 21 in the summer of 2019 — called it quits on April 9 after arguing on Instagram Live. The blonde beauty attributed the breakup to the difficulties of maintaining a long-distance relationship amid the coronavirus pandemic, as well as negative attention from fans.
On April 4, "The Biggest Loser" trainer Erica Lugo and her fiancé, Danny McGeady, exchanged vows in front of their three kids from previous relationships (she has a son, while he has a son and a daughter) in a ceremony digitally officiated by "The Biggest Loser" contestant Kristi McCart, who's an attorney, and livestreamed over Zoom and Instagram for 25 digital "guests" including their immediate family members, closest friends and the bride's "The Biggest Loser" co-stars. The duo originally intended to tie the knot in front of 150 guests in an April 4 ceremony to be followed by a "huge party with a live band," they told Us Weekly. But in mid-March, they made the difficult decision to cancel their original wedding plans amid the coronavirus pandemic. Ultimately, they decided to make things legal on April 4 because it's "an important date" for them.
During an interview with DailyMail.com that hit the Internet on April 21, former Bachelor Nation star Chad Johnson said that although he and Annalise Mishler have been co-starring in explicit content for their OnlyFans accounts, they've yet to officially reconcile following their extremely contentious late-February breakup. "I don't know what's going to happen with me and her. It's just constant turmoil," he said. "I still love her. We're just working through problems, trying to figure out if it would work."
The Sun reported on April 7 that comedian Jack Whitehall is dating model Roxy Horner. "[They] are enjoying being in isolation together. It's all very new but they're in their own little bubble and things are perfect at the moment," said a source. "Being on lockdown in a honeymoon period is certainly one way to get to know each other quickly. But the more time they spend together the happier they seem. Jack's been out on the odd run but apart from that they are watching Netflix and enjoying time together. Both have had their share of heartbreak and struggled a bit to find love. It's time they had some luck."
On April 16, The Sun reported that The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas is dating a roadie named Kaya who's half his age after quietly divorcing his wife of 15 years, Juliet Joslin, sometime last year. According to a source, the 41-year-old rocker and his new girlfriend — who are now "pretty inseparable" — met during a tour of the U.S. and "grew closer" after his marriage came to an end.
