Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in late August 2020, starting with this exciting news… There's a new woman in Brad Pitt's life! The A-list actor was snapped boarding a private jet with 27-year-old German model Nicole Poturalski at a small airport near Paris on Aug. 26. (See a photo here.) According to multiple media outlets, the duo jetted off to the South of France for what's been characterized as a "romantic getaway." An onlooker told OK! magazine that the pair acted like "loved up teenagers" and "were kissing" as they hit the tarmac. "Brad was being super attentive to her. He was in a semi public place but didn't seem to mind people seeing him. She's a real beauty and obviously a lot younger than him," said the spy. It's unclear when they started seeing each other, but on Aug. 27, MailOnline posted photos showing Nicole seated next to Brad in a VIP box during a performance of Kanye West's "Nebuchadnezzar" opera at the Hollywood Bowl in November 2019. Meanwhile, Brad's divorce battle with Angelina Jolie rages on…

Page Six reported on Aug. 22 that, according to multiple sources, Angelina Jolie has a love-hate relationship with Brad Pitt. "On some level she doesn't want this [the divorce] to end," said one source, adding that "she's trying to hold on." Insiders told the New York Post's gossip column that the Oscar-winning actress's alleged attempts to delay their divorce are only reinforcing her ex's "good guy" image — which one source described as a sham. "He wore the pants in that relationship," said the insider. "He's much tougher than he lets on. That boyish, good guy image is just an image."

According to an Aug. 24 People magazine report, Ben Affleck and his girlfriend of less than a year, Ana de Armas, just took a major step forward in their relationship: They're now living together. Over the weekend of Aug. 22, the actress was seen moving her belongings from her home into her beau's nearby home in the Los Angeles area. "She had a huge grin and seemed very excited about living with [him]," said a spy. Added a friend of the couple, "Ben and Ana really care for each other and they have a good thing going. She's aware that his family comes first. And appreciates that. They work very hard at that balance."

Us Weekly reported on Aug. 21 that, according to a source, Demi Lovato and her new fiancé, Max Ehrich, are in no rush to wed: Surprisingly considering how quickly things have moved so far, they plan to tie the knot in 2021. "There is no explicit timetable for the wedding just yet," said the source. "They're happy to be committed to one another and to start the next chapter of their lives." The insider noted that the former soap star is "very focused" on his music career, while the singer-actress is "supportive" of his goals, "wants him to be successful" and has been "helping" him where she can. The pair are also said to be "focused on the engagement, getting married and getting a house together."
During an Aug. 20 interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, Katy Perry admitted that she and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, "have been through f—— hell" together. "We have been down to the mat and come back up again so far," she said, adding that their relationship inspired her 2017 song "Witness." Explained the singer, "That's even what the song 'Witness' was about. 'If I lost it all today, would you stay? Could you go down with me to the mat and come back up?' I was testing that already. Your higher self always knows. Your higher self always knows what you're unconsciously saying." She went on to describe their relationship as "work." Said the pop superstar, "Dating is different than real relationships. You've got to make a choice every day to be in this relationship and to work hard on yourself with someone that's mirroring you so intensely. Like, he doesn't let me rest. He's not Katy Perry's biggest fan. He's here for Katheryn Hudson. He's here for building." The duo delayed their plans to tie the knot amid the coronavirus pandemic, but that's OK as far as Katy is concerned. "For us it's about partnership and it's about right now taking it one week at a time. We had a whole thing planned and that got canceled," she said, noting that for the time being, they're just looking forward to welcoming their baby girl — Daisy Dove Bloom — whose arrival they announced on Aug. 26. Earlier this month, Orlando also opened up about their roller coaster romance.
Us Weekly reported on Aug. 21 that, according to a source, things are going well between Ariana Grande and her new boyfriend, Dalton Gomez. "Ariana sees something different in Dalton that she has never seen before in guys she has previously dated," said the source, adding that the singer-actress "really, really likes" the real estate agent. Her ex-boyfriends never "met her needs in the same way Dalton does," added the insider, noting that the chart-topper's former loves "acted as though she was demanding and had crazy standards." Continued the source, "He is the type of guy she has been looking for. He's very protective of her, will go out of his way for her and does little things that are chivalrous. Dalton will go above and beyond to meet her needs." She reportedly admires his work ethic and the fact that he "shares similar values that she and her family have." The source also revealed that Ariana met her beau when her team hired him to help her find a new home. "When she saw him, she immediately thought he was cute and very good-looking, and she asked her team to set up an in-person meeting with him. Ariana fell very hard for Dalton shortly after they met," said the source, adding that "their relationship is serious" and "they've fallen madly in love with each other."
On Aug. 25, a day after Sofia Richie celebrated her 22nd birthday sans off-and-on love Scott Disick, Us Weekly reported that the model "isn't upset" about their recent breakup. "Her friends and family have been surrounding her with so much love and support, especially for her birthday, so that's been a nice distraction for her," said the source, adding that the birthday girl "is not thinking about Scott at all right now."
During an interview with Body+Soul magazine that hit the Internet on Aug. 23, Elsa Pataky reflected on her marriage of nearly a decade with Chris Hemsworth: "It's funny that people think of us as a perfect couple," she said. "No way. It's been ups and downs, and we still keep working at the relationship. I think a relationship is constant work. It's not easy." She added that their struggles have ultimately brought them closer together. "I always try to see the positives of things," she said.
It's Bachelor Nation's first divorce: During an interview with Us Weekly that popped up online on Aug. 20, Chris Randone revealed that his wife of a year, Krystal Nielson, recently made moves to legally end their marriage. "It's becoming more real, the separation … which is obviously turning into a divorce. Just got the paperwork not too long ago," he said, calling the breakup "a crazy process" and describing his marriage as just "a memory now." He went on to say that Krystal has "moved on" from their relationship. "I've accepted that, but more importantly, I've also looked at it as I'm grateful for those few years," he insisted, adding that he has "no regrets" about their romance, which kicked off during the fifth season of "Bachelor in Paradise" in 2018. "Now it's time to focus on me. I think I had so much energy putting into the relationship that I abandoned myself. And so now, I'm making sure that I'm a priority and I'm going to be focusing on what's going to help me become better moving forward," he said, noting that the coronavirus pandemic actually helped him "process the divorce." Explained Chris, "[It] legitimately helped me understand myself, helped me understand the pain, the grief. And instead of being distracted with the outside world … the only thing I could do was focus on me and my emotions. And so as time went by, like, I gained a different perspective. And so as much as I wanted to [reconcile] and the attempts that I made, at least I can move forward knowing that I did that." He later told Us Weekly that even though there were "mixed signals" with Krystal and "warning signs" that things ultimately wouldn't work out between them, he "didn't think that it would be the end" when they decided to separate earlier this year. "[I thought] the separation would allow us to focus on ourselves and continue to grow and get better, which it definitely happened for me and I'm truly thankful, but I do realize that sometimes all good things come to an end, right?" he said. As for what went wrong, "I think one of the biggest issues was me going from one show to the next, with really no time to process," he dished. "Because I think after I got eliminated from [Becca Kufrin's] season [of 'The Bachelorette'], it was only a couple of weeks where I was back on another show. … I couldn't process it or focus on that or just be able to address it because I had a relationship [and] I was engaged and then that turned into a marriage. And the entire time I abandoned myself, which I think led to just some issues within me as well." Chris also made it clear that the breakup was "definitely mutual on both accounts," though he complained that his ex "never called me once to see how I've been doing, how I'm feeling" amid the breakup. In fact, they "don't talk at all" anymore, he told Us Weekly.
As Chris Randone dished to the media about his breakup from Krystal Nielson, she took to Instagram to confirm they're divorcing. "The past 8 months have not been easy… I've been torn between mourning a life that could've been… and determined to fight for the future that I know I deserve. With respect and support for one another, Chris and I have decided to move forward with filing for divorce. We are grateful for the events that brought us to find one another, as we have been great teachers on our journey of personal discovery and growth. I believe that there can be beauty inside of pain when we have the courage to look within with compassion and a willingness to grow. We all deserve to live a beautiful life we love… and sometimes we realize it's time to let go and LET GOD," she captioned a photo of herself and her two dogs.
And finally, Chris Randone told Us Weekly that he's ready "to get back out there" in terms of dating. "You want to feel masculine, you want to just feel some sort of physical touch," he said. "I definitely want to see what's out there as far as just talking and connections and stuff like that. I've been definitely doing my due diligence on a few people that, you know, just catch my eye out there. So just gradually kind of getting my feet wet." Continued the Bachelor Nation star, "Divorce is not easy. Like mentally, physically — and not only that, I definitely want to just experience life. We have a pandemic right now, which I'm actually thankful for it because all these women who are single out there, it's like, I'm on the grind right now in the gym. I'm getting ready. So that way, like, when the pandemic is over, like, I'm just going to splash the market, you know? So I'm just going with it, but definitely, in the foreseeable future, I would hope to start getting out there for sure." He also noted that he'd only appear on "Bachelor in Paradise" again "if there's someone there … who I really want to get to know." Added Chris, "If I go it's because I definitely have a woman on my radar and I would love to just be in a position where we have that environment where we can get to know one another."
On Aug. 20, Page Six confirmed rumors that Chrissy Metz and composer Hal Rosenfeld, to whom she was first linked in late 2018, called it quits. According to the New York Post's gossip column, the "This Is Us" star is "back on the market and ready to date again." Four days later, Chrissy caught wind of the Page Six report and took to her Instagram Story to set the record straight: "We actually broke up almost two years ago," she wrote, adding a "late to the party" hashtag.
During an Aug. 24 interview with Us Weekly, Rachael Leigh Cook revealed she has a new boyfriend — a man she identified only as Kevin. "He's really great. I did good, if I do say so. Definitely hitting out of my league there," she gushed. "I met someone really nice, and I adore him. He's fantastic." Kevin has yet to meet the two children the actress shares with her ex-husband, "The Originals" star Daniel Gillies. "I feel like what's the rush, you know what I mean? I don't want to get it wrong. We're going to take it beat by beat," she said. "If they ever Google deep dive this time in their parents' life and they see this interview in the future and they're like, 'What the hell, mom?' we'll have that discussion then. But in the meantime, I'm just going to take small steps and they can be on a need-to-know basis." As for her ex, the mother of two told "Entertainment Tonight" that making the decision to end their marriage of 15 years was "really hard" because of "the massive implications that come with that and the upheaval." They're now in a "really good" place, though: "We're friends now. We talk about things that we never talked about before because we have this new relationship," she said. "He'll tell me about dates that he goes on and funny things that might have happened and we genuinely laugh about it." She then joked that "divorce needs a new publicist" because "it's not that bad." She also told "ET" that her new beau is a producer she met through mutual friend Judy Greer.
On the Aug. 20 episode of the "Hollywood Raw with Dax Holt and Adam Glyn" podcast, Kelly Osbourne mostly opened up about her health and sobriety journey. She also revealed that there's a new (old) man in her life: "I'm dating someone. It's someone who has been in my life for like 20 years. I'm just really happy with what it is. Someone that I used to date and now we are hanging out again," she said. "I full-blown love him. That's all I'm saying. For the first time in my life, I can tell you what happiness is because I've never had it before."
On the Aug. 19 of the "Flashbacks with Jessica Hall and Heather Rae Young" podcast, Scheana Shay claimed that she and "The Hills" alum Stacie Adams were in a "throuple" with John Mayer around the time his romance with Jennifer Aniston came to an end in 2009. The "Vanderpump Rules" star alleged that she started seeing the chart-topper after they met at a party he attended with the "Friends" actress — she was working as a server but ended up "getting wasted" with the power couple. A few weeks after that, John and Jen split and he headed back to the venue where Scheana worked. "One of his friends comes up, and he was like, 'So it's not really like public news yet, but John and Jen broke up. He wants your number. Give it to me and I'll pass it to him,'" she recalled, noting that's how the singer ended up coming back to the apartment she shared with Stacie at the time. "This went on for about six months. We hung out and we would go to his house. … It just became, you know, kind of the three of us. We had a little throuple going on," she said, confirming their three-way relationship was sexual in nature and that she and John sometimes invited women other than Stacie into the bedroom with them. Ultimately, John took a shine to Stacie: "I definitely got a little jealous towards the end of it because I knew he liked her more, and I was like, 'Wait, I brought you into this and now you're getting more attention than I'm getting?'" Scheana dished, adding that after she and John stopped seeing each other, he and Stacie "continued talking and there were, like, a lot of things" going on.
Jocelyn Hudon took to Instagram on Aug. 25 to announce that she and Jake Manley are engaged, captioning a slideshow of photos of herself showing off her new engagement bling with several diamond ring emojis. He claimed his son is the product of a one-night stand, but she said the child's mother told her that she and Brandon had a five-month affair. It appears Camilla is now done with Brandon, who took to Instagram on Aug. 26 to offer a lame apology: "What we share is real," he captioned a photo of them together in happier times. "I feel terrible about the man I've been but I don't want you to go on without knowing how important you are to me and how sorry I am for my actions. I've made some bad decisions but moving forward I want to be the best man I know I can be and I'm always here and will forever hold it down for you my Luv. Wish these words mean something to you and ease your mind in any way at all." … Kelsey Owens revealed she has a new boyfriend: Max Strong, whom she later introduced on Instagram. (See her tribute to him here.) Jeffree and longtime love Nathan Schwandt called it quits earlier this year.
During an Aug. 18 interview with Us Weekly, Tyler Cameron said that he and Hannah Brown have discussed what would've happened between them if she'd chosen him on the finale of season 15 of "The Bachelorette" in 2019. "There's all these what-ifs, but you can't live in that world. What-ifs will kill you. You know? So I try to stay away from that kind of thinking," he said. "She's an incredible person. There's no doubt that I think we would have been just fine but we kind of went our [separate] ways and are different people than what we were then." He also said that he considers himself "lucky" to have Hannah "as a friend." As for the current state of his love life, Tyler told Us Weekly that although he's been mostly "staying low-key" and hanging out with friends, he has "had some Zoom dates here and there" amid the coronavirus pandemic. "It was cool," he said. I was a little nervous cause I don't know how it's going to go. So maybe I had a couple too many wines before, but it made for interesting, fun conversation. … But as the world opens up, maybe I'll get more of the dating."

Amid questions about the authenticity of the Netflix reality show "Selling Sunset," TMZ reported on Aug. 23 that, according to legal documents, Mary Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet actually tied the knot in the Los Angeles area on March 9, 2018 — just four months after her divorce from her second husband was finalized and just a few months before they started shooting "Selling Sunset" … even though the first two seasons showed Mary and Romain getting engaged, planning a wedding and ultimately getting hitched on Oct. 12, 2019. A rep for the couple told Us Weekly that the real estate agent and the male model "had a civil union a couple of months before the show began filming in June of 2018" but "chose not to tell any of their friends or family, as they were still trying to see if their relationship would work out in the long term." Explained the rep, "In their minds, they weren't properly married until the wedding that was filmed during the show."
According to Us Weekly, actress Grace Gummer finalized her divorce from actor-musician Tay Strathairn on Aug. 21 — the first anniversary of the date of separation they listed in their divorce documents. Neither party will receive spousal support.
During an Aug. 24 interview with Us Weekly, Randall Emmett said that he and Lala Kent plan to tie the knot in July 2021 after pushing their original wedding date amid the coronavirus pandemic. "It was this weird thing because it was April, obviously, and then we pushed it to September or October, and we thought that life would be somewhat back to normal [by then]. That obviously wasn't true. So she called me up one day, and she was like, 'Babe, we have to move this wedding.' And I was like, 'No, we're not moving. We'll have it with five people.' And she's like, 'No, you don't want that version of this wedding. So we need to do the right thing,'" he recalled, adding that they "both cried" over the situation. The film producer also revealed that as they gear up to tie the knot, he and the "Vanderpump Rules" star are trying to get pregnant.
In other wedding date news… Lamar Odom took to Instagram on Aug. 21 to announce that he and his fiancée, Sabrina Parr, plan to tie the knot in Miami on Nov. 11, 2021 — the second anniversary of the day he popped the question. "When you got a real one… you gotta keep her," he captioned a save the date, adding hashtags for "wifey" and "Mrs. Odom." The bride-to-be shared the same image, along with the caption, "We've both experienced many relationships. Been married, divorced, you name it, we've been through it… But this right here will be our LAST DANCE! Can't wait to marry you big man."
On the Aug. 19 episode of Roxy Manning and Tammin Sursok's "Women on Top" podcast, Tori Spelling dished on her past off-screen romance with "Beverly Hills, 90210" co-star Brian Austin Green: "We were on camera together, and we are off camera something," she said. "He and I have different perspectives of what that was. There's the young girl version and the young boy version, so two different versions. It's so funny because to me, I was like, 'Remember that summer we were together? You said I love you and I said I love you.' And he remembers none of that. He was like, 'No, we hooked up. We were friends.' And I was like, 'Cool. OK.' Even now, I'm like, 'OK, cool.'" When their on-screen alter egos tied the knot on the series finale, "it felt so real" to Tori, she said. "We're both really crying because [the vows] were beautiful, and it was two people that did love each other very much — [we were] not in love, but [we] loved each other," she recalled. "And I remember when it all ended, like that day we wrapped, Jennie [Garth] and I were walking back to the trailer, and I was like, 'I think there's a problem.' And she's like, 'What?' I was like, 'I think I love Brian again.' And she was like, 'I'm not doing this! No!'"
Also on the Aug. 19 episode of Roxy Manning and Tammin Sursok's "Women on Top" podcast, Tori Spelling opened up about husband Dean McDermott's 2013 cheating scandal: "My biggest fear in our relationship was [that he was] going to cheat on me," she said. "So when it happened, I was like, 'See! I always thought from day one he was going to cheat on me.' And it wasn't about him, like, that was about me. I was like, 'OK, I know I'm not good enough.' That's how I felt about myself. And one day, he's going to realize that and he's gonna find someone else. … I used to say to him all the time, 'I'm so scared you are going to cheat on me,' and he's like, 'Why? I've never given you reason.' And then when it happened, I was like, 'Oh my God, see! You cheated on me.' So it was a hard thing to navigate, and the hardest part … is that it lives online. That's not something you think about in that moment."
On the Aug. 20 episode of the "Bradshaw Boys" podcast, "Sex and the City" creator Candace Bushnell revealed that she once went out on a "romantic" dinner date with John Corbett, who famously portrayed Aidan Shaw on the HBO series. "Then he goes back to L.A., and then like two days later, it's like, 'Oh, he's dating Bo Derek.' You cannot compete with Bo Derek, forget it," recalled the writer. John and Bo, by the way, have been going strong ever since.
