Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in late April 2020, starting with this surprising split… Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler took to Instagram on April 26 to announce that they're calling it quits after seven years of marriage and a decade of coupledom. "With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce. We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family," they each captioned a photo of themselves during happier times. Initially, multiple media outlets reported that the breakup is amicable — but has been a long time coming. "This isn't out of the blue. They've been trying to make it work for a while," said an E! News source. "There's nothing scandalous or suspect about their split. Honestly, they just fell out of love and grew apart," said an Us Weekly source. A People source, meanwhile, said the "Very Cavallari" stars "knew they were splitting up" before they left for a spring-break vacay in the Bahamas in early March. "Kristin and Jay had been having problems for a long time. They hadn't spent much time together in recent months," said the source. "[They] are a lot different. She has so much on her plate, with her brands and with the show, and Jay is not as interested in all of that. She's so passionate about her work and they couldn't relate to each other. So it pulled them apart." Then multiple media outlets got their hands on the former couple's divorce documents, and things took a strange turn…

On April 27, TMZ reported that in her divorce paperwork, Kristin Cavallari accuses Jay Cutler — who filed for divorce first on April 21 — of being "guilty of such inappropriate marital conduct as renders further cohabitation unsafe and improper." (The wording prompted rumors that he strayed from the marriage — rumors that multiple media outlets have shut down.) The reality star also implied that she expected the former football star to accuse her of misconduct, writing that "any misconduct alleged or implied against her in [his] complaint for divorce was in response to and/or as a result of misconduct on [his] behalf." (Jay never accused Kristin of misconduct.) She went on to request primary physical custody of their three children with visitation for the former quarterback, while he asked for joint custody, "reasonable attorney fees" and "general relief to which he may be entitled," according to E! News. Here's where things get nasty: In his paperwork, Jay claims that he's "always been the available at-home parent and primary caretaker," as well as the "primary residential parent" for their kids — which Kristin denies. (The former star of "The Hills," by the way, is asking for child support and for Jay to pay the kids' health insurance and maintain a life insurance policy for which she'll be the sole beneficiary, according to TMZ.) Custody isn't the only issue on which they disagree: The mother of three lists their date of separation as April 7 — the day they returned from their three-week vacation in the Bahamas. Jay, meanwhile, claims they split on April 21, the day he filed for divorce. On April 28, TMZ shed some light on the drama, reporting that the Uncommon James founder didn't know her estranged husband intended to file for divorce and was "surprised" he beat her to the punch. According to the webloid, his claim that he's the "at-home parent" and "primary caretaker" for their kids "set her off." Writes TMZ, "Kristin was shocked and claims Jay was not telling the truth … she says she has been the primary caregiver." As for her "misconduct" allegations, TMZ notes that because Tennessee is a "fault state," anyone asking for a divorce must prove that the other party is to blame for the split — which explains the eyebrow-raising choice of words in Kristin's paperwork. Then came more eyebrow-raising court filings…

On April 29, Us Weekly reported that Kristin Cavallari alleged in court documents filed earlier that day — according to E! News, the papers are in response to a sealed emergency filing by ex Jay Cutler — that he tried "to intimidate" her into accepting his parenting plan for their three kids by threatening to block her from buying a new home for herself. She describes his attempt at "punishing" her as "typical" of his behavior towards her. She also alleges that he's made "inappropriate statements" to her, said inappropriate things about her to their children and attempted "to draw her into an argument" in front of them. She added that she "fears the situation will escalate." According to Us Weekly, the "Very Cavallari" stars have been at odds for much longer than it initially appeared: They almost split late last year — things were reportedly "so bad in the marriage," Kristin started house-hunting and nearly moved out in November. Although they "attempted to salvage the marriage," they eventually "realized the attempt to reconcile was not working and knew a divorce was inevitable." Said one Us Weekly source, "The word around Nashville is they really just don't like each other anymore. They would accuse each other of cheating, but nothing really solid. They are both very stubborn and bump heads a lot and neither backs down. … [They] always seemed annoyed with each other and they were only on the same side when it came to their kids. Their personal relationship became antagonistic and it was better for their whole family to divorce."

Us Weekly reported on April 28 that after a month of questions about the nature of their relationship, Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan are now officially a couple: "[They're] fully dating, but they aren't admitting it to people," said a source, noting that the lawyer "doesn't want to be criticized all over the Internet" for her relationship with the controversial former star of "The Bachelor."
Hannah Ann Sluss ended her engagement to season 24 "The Bachelor" star Peter Weber in January. Now she's been linked to NFL star Mason Rudolph. TMZ published a photo of the duo going on a coffee run in Los Angeles on April 29 — and sources told the webloid it was the third time the model and the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback had been seen together in recent days. "They very much seemed lovey dovey. He even opened her car door," a witness told TMZ of Mason, who's been working out in Beverly Hills during the off season. On the April 9 episode of Kaitlyn Bristowe's "Off the Vine" podcast, Hannah Ann admitted that during coronavirus lockdown, she'd been communicating with a "mystery man" who was not a member of the "Bachelor" franchise. She said they were having "just a nice little quarantine fling." Fans quickly speculated that Mason is the guy she was describing.
On the April 29 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Tiffany Haddish said that she's "single" but "dating." In the process, she seemingly put to bed long-standing rumors that she and Common are more than friends — rumors the duo encouraged when they went on a virtual Bumble date amid the coronavirus pandemic. (The "Girls Trip" star name-dropped Bumble and referenced her "date" with the rapper-actor — which they recorded and posted online to promote the dating app — during her interview with Ellen.) On the April 22 episode of the "Today" show, Hoda Kotb asked the actress if she and Common are dating, but she'd only confirm that they went on "a virtual Bumble date." She then fired back, "Get out of my bedroom, Hoda!" Joked Tiffany of quarantining as a single woman, "Now it's just me in my bedroom and all my clean clothes. I piled all the clean clothes up next to me so it feels like somebody's in the bed."
In October 2019, Emma Watson was snapped smooching a mystery man while out for lunch in London. Although she told the December 2019 issues of British Vogue that she was single, she was seen again with the same mystery man in London in December and in Formentera, Spain, in February. On April 17, MailOnline finally identified the former child star's beau as Leo Alexander Robinton. "Emma and Leo did everything in their power to keep their relationship private," said a source. "After they were pictured kissing in October, Leo removed himself from all social media in an attempt to protect their romance. But his closeness with Emma didn't go unnoticed by his colleagues at the time, who were shocked to see Leo in the arms of a world-famous actress." Said a second insider, "Emma introduced Leo to her parents [in December] — she was really serious about him." It's unclear whether or not they're still an item.
A profile of Timothée Chalamet in the May 2020 issue of British Vogue, which hit the Internet on April 27, noted that the Oscar-nominated actor is "currently single," indicating that he and Lily-Rose Depp recently called it quits. The duo were first linked in late 2018 after they shot the historical drama "The King." It's unclear when exactly they parted ways.
Are Jessie J and Channing Tatum the friendliest exes ever? Or did they recently rekindle their romance (again)? The singer sparked reconciliation rumors when she took to her Instagram Story on April 26 to gush over her off-and-on love while wishing him a happy 40th birthday. "Happy 40th Birthday to this special man right here," she scrawled across a photo of the actor. "You are truly one of a kind. I am so grateful you were born, and even more grateful we met."
On April 29, TMZ published video of Kendall Jenner stopping for a bathroom break at a gas station near Sedona, Arizona, during a recent road trip with NBA player Devin Booker. In the process, the model sparked rumors that she's dating yet another basketball star. Witnesses told TMZ that the duo "certainly looked like a couple" during the pitstop, but according to sources close to the pair, they're simply part of the same "small social circle." Said one source, "Devin is a friend and is part of the small group. They took a road trip for some much-needed air." Interestingly, Devin previously dated former Kardashian-Jenner family friend Jordyn Woods — they even double-dated with Kendall and off-and-on love Ben Simmons back in 2018. (Kendall and Ben were practically attached at the hip earlier this year, though it's unclear whether or not they're currently an item.)
Are Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green headed for a divorce (again)? On April 27, E! News reported that the off-and-on duo have been living apart amid the coronavirus pandemic. However, according to a source, "They don't plan to file [for] divorce right now."
On April 24, Us Weekly broke the news that Kristen Doute's mysterious new boyfriend is a man named Alex Menache. The following day, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, Alex is serious about the relationship: "He wants to get married and have kids soon," said the source, noting that Alex is "hilarious" and "likes girls with a sense of humor." Added the insider, "He's from the Valley and he owns a lot of apartment buildings in the L.A. area. He's not the L.A. type who is friends with lots of celebs, though. He has been looking for a wife.
On April 24, Us Weekly confirmed recent rumors that Noah Centineo and Alexis Ren called it quits after a year of coupledom: "They broke up a few weeks ago," said a source.
Us Weekly reported on April 29 that, according to a source, Kim Kardashian West and husband Kanye West "have been arguing a lot during the quarantine." Said the source, "Kanye is really getting on Kim's nerves." Because he's "focused on creating" amid the coronavirus pandemic, the reality star reportedly feels like "all the parenting duties are falling on her." Added the insider, "Kim finds it frustrating that [Kanye] doesn't ask her how he can help with the kids."
Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman took to Instagram on April 25 to publicly profess his love for his new girlfriend, Francie Frane. "I scream & Cry Beth where are you why did you leave me then I look up & see you Francie & the pain turns to a smile I LOVE YOU WOMAN!!" he captioned a photo of his new love, referencing his late wife, Beth Chapman. Two days later, Francie also gushed about their relationship on Instagram: "@duanedogchapman I love you!" she captioned a photo of her journal entry from that day. "You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. So you cling to God and to his word with all your might because it's all you know to do. Then one day I looked up from the ashes and there you stood. Wow, God!" she wrote. Francie reportedly lost her husband a few months before Beth died of lung cancer in July 2019.
Us Weekly reported on April 23 that, according to a source, Katy Perry's relationship with Orlando Bloom "has changed since she got pregnant." Said the source, "[They're] having some ups and downs right now. Katy is dealing with the nerves of being a first-time parent, and Orlando is stressing about having a baby in their lives at this time." The alleged insider added that in spite of the drama, the singer "is overjoyed and elated that she is pregnant." The duo reportedly planned to tie the knot in Japan in June but postponed their wedding plans amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Clare Crawley's season of "The Bachelorette" hasn't started shooting yet, but the blonde beauty is already off to a rocky start with one of the men who could be competing for her heart. Here's the backstory: On March 13, the same day she was scheduled to meet her lineup of suitors, ABC announced that production of the reality show had been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. (It's unclear if any of the previously announced cast members will still be available to shoot when production eventually resumes.) Since then, one of the men, Matt James, has become a star in his own right thanks to his friendship with Tyler Cameron, who's also his roommate. The handsome realtor recently put his fame to good use, creating a Cameo account and conducting interviews with various media outlets to raise money for a charity project. But that's not how Clare sees it. "If you are doing interviews and creating Cameo accounts before you are even on my season… you are in it for the wrong reasons… #dontwasteyourtime," she tweeted on April 25 — purportedly of Matt, though she didn't name names. "Respect the opportunity you've been given. Respect the rules. Respect me," she wrote in a second tweet. The following day, she added that her first two tweets were "about MULTIPLE men" and "a general thought" … though only one other potential suitor, former NFL player Dale Moss, has a Cameo account. Matt took to his Instagram Story on April 26 to seemingly address Clare's allegations, reminding "those of you who may have missed the message earlier this week" that he pledged his Cameo earnings to the Robin Hood Foundation. Earlier this month, he told Us Weekly that he's "been very patient up to this point" but is "looking forward" to meeting the hairstylist. That may no longer be the case!
On a late-2018 episode of "The Tonight Show," Jimmy Fallon revealed that back when he and Kate Hudson co-starred in "Almost Famous," they became "super-good friends" — so close, in fact, that he actually thought "maybe there could be something" more between them. Instead, he said, she put him in the friend zone and started seeing The Black Crowes lead singer Chris Robinson, whom she married after just months of dating. On the April 27 episode of "The Tonight Show," the Oscar-nominated actress finally shared her side of the story. After acknowledging that she and Jimmy "ended up hanging out all the time" after connecting on the set of "The Tonight Show," Kate said "like 100 people" sent her the clip of the late-night host dishing on their past. "I had no idea. Like, there was no [indication]," she told Jimmy of his old crush on her. "I wish people could be in my body to watch [our] relationship and friendship because you gave me no indication." Responded the former "Saturday Night Live" star, "Well, [I gave you] a little indication cause I thought we were good together. We were good buddies. We hung out all the time." Replied Kate, "Jimmy, if you would have actually made a move, I would have totally gone there. Yes, of course. I remember thinking to myself, 'Why has Jimmy never made a move?' And then I just kind of realized, 'Oh, he's not into me like that.' … I was just like, 'OK, well, whatever!' And so then I met Chris." Added the actress to her befuddled friend, "If you would've been like, hey, you know, who knows? Who knows! Our whole life trajectory could've been different, Jimmy." Ultimately, the pair agreed they're both happy with the way things turned out. Speaking of which… Kate said on the April 28 episode of "Watch What Happens Live" that the coronavirus quarantine has been "positive for knowing that I'm with the right person" — her boyfriend of more than three years, Danny Fujikawa. "There's nobody else I'd want to be quarantined with right now. He's just the best," she gushed.
On the April 29 episode of "Red Table Talk," Jada Pinkett Smith said that thanks to the coronavirus quarantine, she's learned some interesting things about her relationship with her husband, Will Smith: "One of the things that I've realized is that I don't know Will at all," she said. "I feel like there's a layer that you get to — life gets busy and you create these stories in your head and then you hold onto these stories and that is your idea of your partner. But that's not who your partner is. So [I'm] going through the process of having to dissolve all the stories and all of the ideas of Will that I built around those stories." She went on to say that she and the Oscar-nominated actor are learning "to be friends." Explained the actress, "You get into all these ideas of what intimate relationships are supposed to look like, what marriages are supposed to be. So Will and I are in the process of him taking the time to learn to love himself, me taking the time to learn to love myself, and us building a friendship along the way. Let me tell you, that's been something: to be married to somebody for 20-some-odd years and then realize, 'I don't know you and you don't know me,' but also realizing too, there's an aspect of yourself you don't know either."
On the April 23 episode of "Conan," Kaley Cuoco joked that she and her husband, Karl Cook, are only living together while stay-at-home orders are in place amid the coronavirus pandemic. "He's out [when it's over]. This is just for the quarantine. I don't want to give the wrong impression here. This is just for right now," deadpanned the actress, who just moved in with her hubby in mid-March. In all seriousness, though, waiting to move in together "worked out great" for them, she said. "Everyone has a million opinions about what we do, right? But they were very shocked we didn't live together, but it's been great," she said, adding of Karl, "I like him."
On the April 29 episode of Hannah Berner's "Berning In Hell" podcast, Nick Viall revealed that he tried to shoot his shot with Olivia Munn by sliding into her DMs on New Year's Day. "I didn't slide into her DMs because I actually thought she was going to reply," he said, adding that he's been surprised with his success in that department in the past. (Ahem, January Jones.) "I wasn't expecting her to reply. It was New Year's Day and I simply just said, 'I'm aiming high this year.'" The actress didn't reply, he said, but he's "confident" she saw his message. "She had no interest in dating me," he said. "She probably laughed [that I even] thought that there was a shot. But I'll tell you what I did — I made her smile and I made her laugh. She could have been repulsed by the idea of being in the same room as me, but she still could have laughed because it's a funny DM." Olivia, by the way, has a long-term boyfriend.
During an April 24 interview with Us Weekly, Cynthia Bailey admitted that she and her fiancé, Mike Hill, "have been tested" while quarantining together amid the coronavirus pandemic. "However, I was laughing because one of the things that I used to complain about being in a bicoastal relationship is spending quality time together. Well, this is quality [time]," she said. "I didn't mean morning, noon, night, breakfast, lunch, dinner. I didn't mean the only time that we go out is to go to Costco, OK? I kind of had to eat my words on that since I'm eating everything else around here." She went on to say that "not getting on each other's nerves" has been the most challenging part of quarantining. "I'm a space person, he's a space person, we kind of know each other's energy and I can tell when he needs a minute," she said. "He can tell when I need a minute." In spite of the challenges, the reality star insisted that the quarantine has brought them "closer together." She also said that they're still planning to tie the knot on Oct. 10.
In the new Jonas Brothers documentary "Happiness Continues," which debuted on April 24, Joe Jonas dishes on how his wife, Sophie Turner, inspired the group's song "Hesitate." Said the singer, "It's like my vows before I wrote my vows. It's my promise to Sophie." He added that performing the ballad takes him "to a whole different universe." Said Joe, "I'm seeing her walk down the aisle again every time I close my eyes." Aww! Meanwhile, on the April 27 episode of "The Late Late Show With James Corden," the DNCE frontman said that he and his missus "used to be the couple that every few days would celebrate" their love, but they've "chilled out quite a bit."
During an interview with WSJ. Magazine that hit the Internet on April 28, Nicole Kidman said that when it comes to balancing her busy career with husband Keith Urban's touring schedule, they have "a system worked out to keep the family together." Said the Oscar-winning actress, "I'll pass on films. … When Keith's not touring, it's much easier. He'll be on tour next year, and then I just don't work as much. Literally — it will become imbalanced, and we will change it. We don't have the answers, but the one thing we do know is that we will not jeopardize us." Meanwhile, during an April 27 interview with Zane Lowe for Beats 1 on Apple Music, Keith said that his wife has taught him how to "to be more fearless in artistry and go for the curious place that you want to go to as an artist — don't question it." He also said that her "pure curiosity" has "definitely had a big impact" on his music. "I definitely married up," he reportedly added.
During an interview with Parade that popped up online on April 24, Scarlett Johansson dished on her fiancé, Colin Jost: "What you see is what you get with him," she said. "He's very optimistic, easygoing, funny, nice, and those are the qualities that really drew me to him." The duo started as friends, she said: "It's so funny to have a long-term shared experience with someone and then the relationships changes," she noted.
On the April 22 episode of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," Garcelle Beauvais opened up about her 2011 divorce from her husband of nearly a decade, talent agent Mike Nilon, amid a cheating scandal. "We were sort of like the Hollywood couple. I'm an actress. He's an agent. We would go to fabulous parties. We've got these two beautiful [twin sons]," she recalled during a confessional. "Mike was reliable. He was sweet. I really thought this was my last stop." Then one night she saw a text message from another woman telling Mike, "I love you." The "NYPD Blue" alum immediately confronted her then-husband: "I go, 'Hey, what's this?' And his face changed. And he said, 'I've been having an affair.' And I said, 'How long?' And he said, 'Five years,'" she recalled, calling it the day her "life just changed" and saying that she wouldn't wish the experience on her worst enemy. She went on to say that she's not sure what became of the other woman: "I have no idea what happened. I was devastated, so I didn't care what happened to her."
Also on the April 22 episode of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," Erika Jayne opened up about her sex life with her husband, Tom Girardi, who's more than three decades her senior. After acknowledging that it's not "20-year-old f—— all day long," the 48-year-old reality star said that she's "tired of having to justify my 20-year marriage." Said the blonde beauty, "Go get a 20-year marriage and then come f—— talk to me. … Yeah, I married a guy that's 33 years older than me, and, yeah, he's got a lot of money, but you know what? He's a f—— good man, and that is the most important thing." The episode also showed Erika getting emotional while thanking Tom for his support over the years: "Thank you for being so supportive. I would not have this without you," she told him while celebrating her role as Roxie Hart in the recent Broadway production of "Chicago." When he replied that he's proud of her, she said through tears, "Thank you for saying that. That's all I've ever wanted." She later said during a confessional, "It's great to have financial support, but having someone's emotional support is something that I wish I had more of growing up."
The third episode of the ESPN docuseries "The Last Dance" chronicled Dennis Rodman's time playing basketball for the Chicago Bulls, which coincided with his whirlwind romance with Carmen Electra. During an interview with the Los Angeles Times that hit the Internet on April 26, the model-actress reacted to the show, saying that seeing her ex-husband on the basketball court again "brought tears" to her eyes. "I have no regrets at all," she said of their tumultuous time together. "I saw all these different sides of Dennis. He would always say, 'No one understands me. No one gets me.' He was very emotional at times. Then there was the sweet romantic side and the fun, eccentric guy who loved to go out and drink and wear feathered boas." Meanwhile, during an interview with The Associated Press, she noted that she and the basketball star "had a blast" together and shared "this wild love" but also had "a lot of hard times" and "struggles." She also noted that while they're not actively in touch, things are always good between them when they do occasionally reconnect.
On the April 27 episode of his "Almost Famous" podcast, Ben Higgins opened up (again) about abstaining from sex until marriage with his new fiancée, Jessica Clarke. "We are excited about this decision," he said. "It's been the healthiest decision for us. … It's the decision we made that we thought was best for us as a couple to allow us the healthiest relationship." Continued the Bachelor Nation star, "We wanted to do that because we knew that we had something special, and we wanted to do some things personally to make sure that we were setting ourselves up for the most success. This is one of the decisions that we've made, and it's been really good for us. … We're really excited for what the future holds. I mean, it's worked so far. We're happily engaged and having a great time being engaged."
During an April 24 interview with Us Weekly, Haylie Duff said that she and her fiancé of more than five years, Matt Rosenberg, are in no rush to wed: "We're busy with [our two daughters] and jobs, and we always say, 'We will at some point,' and then life continues to be busy, and we still really like each other, which is good, I guess," she said. "At some point we will, but certainly now is not the time to have a wedding." She then referenced the coronavirus pandemic, noting, "You couldn't have many people there, could you?"
Earlier this year, there were whispers that Monica might be giving her relationship with Shannon Brown another shot after filing for divorce in early 2019. But during an April 24 Instagram Live with Tameka "Tiny" Harris, the singer said that she's single and ready to mingle. After acknowledging that she's had "good solid self-time … over the last year" since she and Shannon split, Monica detailed what she's looking for in a man: "I acknowledge that I do need a lot of attention, but I give a lot," she said. "I acknowledge that I do need somebody that is an old-school man. … I need somebody that's still a gentleman. That's why I work so hard with [my three] boys to be gentlemen. I still want you to open the door. I still want you to pull up and pick me up sometimes. I still want you to play my favorite song — I still like all that." She added that she's open to dating men age 32 and older. "A 25-year-old would turn me into a head-buster again," she joked before asking her pal to set her up on a blind date.
Princess Eugenie took to Instagram on April 24 to mark the 10th anniversary of her relationship with Jack Brooksbank, whom she married in October 2018. On the April 29 episode of "The Bellas Podcast," Nikki Bella said that she sometimes feels like she can't escape her breakup from John Cena — even though she's engaged to someone else now: dancer Artem Chigvintsev. "Going through a public breakup, that was difficult," she said, adding that she's constantly asking her twin sister, Brie Bella, "Am I ever gonna get away from this?" Continued the former wrestler, "I feel like I'm gonna have this triangle for the rest of my life. … So I just try to have this shell that fights it all — because it used to get to me really bad for a long time." She's slowly healing with time, she said, noting that she even told her grandmother to stop hiding old photos of John: "I won't let my Nana take certain photos down that John's in because those are memories and he's an amazing man," said Nikki. "Just keep it on the wall. I don't mind. Artem doesn't mind. I'm not here to erase memories."
Us Weekly reported on April 24 that, according to a source, Charlie Hunnam and his girlfriend of 15 years, Morgana McNelis, are "doing great" and are "so cute together and in love." They still talk to each other all the time and support each other's career. There's no hard feelings and definitely hope to stay friends."
On the April 26 episode of her "Intimate Knowledge" podcast, Meghan King Edmonds shared her mixed feelings about dating. She then acknowledged that she misses "physical touch." Said the mother of three, "I just want to hold somebody's hand or get a hug. … I want to be partnered up. I want that relationship. It was never my idea to get divorced and yet here I am and I'm happier than ever now but I do want a partner." The former "The Real Housewives of Orange County" star split from Jim Edmonds in late 2019.
