News published a statement from "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Erika Jayne announcing that she's divorcing her husband of more than 20 years, attorney Tom Girardi. Later, an Us Weekly source attributed the split to the former couple's "unconventional marriage" and the fact that they spent "a lot of time apart" — often "several months" at a time. The insider went on to imply that Erika was ready to move on after she gained financial independence and fame from her gig on the popular Bravo reality show. In the wake of the breakup, there were rumors that she's been "sleeping with" someone else "for years" … a famous man who works in the entertainment industry and "is not an actor, musician or athlete." But then in early December, things took a strange turn when a Chicago law firm alleged in a lawsuit that Erika and Tom's divorce is actually "a sham" — an elaborate scheme to protect their money "from those that seek to collect on debts owed by Tom and his law firm." However, in late November, Tom filed legal documents asking the court to block Erika's request for spousal support, indicating that the divorce isn't "a sham" at all. Things took another unexpected turn on Dec. 18 when Erika took to Instagram to accuse Tom of having an affair, sharing several photos of text messages between him and his alleged mistress, California judge Tricia A. Bigelow. Earlier that day, People magazine reported that Erika decided to divorce Tom "because he was cheating on her with multiple women," and although she's "known about his infidelity for years" she initially "wanted to try and save the marriage." The final straw came when she "realized she would never be a priority to him." An Us Weekly source, meanwhile, denied rumors that Erika and Tom "had an agreement in terms of being with other people" during their marriage. On Nov. 9, Page Six reported that Teresa Giudice has a new boyfriend: New Jersey-based businessman Luis "Louie" Ruelas, a 46-year-old father of two. Later that month, on an episode of "Watch What Happens Live," the longtime "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star confirmed the news, calling the relationship "fairly new." Added the mother of four, "I'm taking things slow, and we'll see where it goes from there." (On Dec. 22, she made their relationship Instagram official.) She also dropped a pretty big bombshell: Although there were reports in September that she and her estranged husband, Joe Giudice, had finalized their divorce, she told host Andy Cohen they were still technically married. In April, Teresa Giudice's brother, Joe Gorga, revealed that she'd officially started divorce proceedings and that the paperwork to legally end her marriage to Joe Giudice — from whom she separated after 20 years of marriage in late 2019 — was "almost done." There were many indications that Teresa planned to end the marriage. On the Feb. 12 episode of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," which was shot in late 2019, she admitted that she now believes Joe cheated on her early in their marriage. She even revealed that she once caught him using a secret second cell phone to communicate with another woman. She went on to explain that although "there were rumors out there" about Joe's infidelity, she was "blind" to them, choosing to believe him when he denied the allegations. Then On Feb. 22, Joe took to Instagram to post a clip from the season finale of "RHONJ" that showed Teresa refusing to let him sleep in the same bed as her during her late-2019 trip to Italy after they'd been apart for nearly four years while he served prison time. On the Oct. 9 episode of "The Wendy Williams Show," Joe Giudice revealed that he's dating a lawyer he met in Italy. Later in the month, he said that his mystery woman is actually a fan of his ex-wife, Teresa Giudice. He went on to say that he and his former missus "talk every day" but have "moved on" from their relationship, although things might've turned out differently if he'd been allowed to stay in the United States. "Look, if I would have got out and I would have been able to go home, who knows what would happen? Maybe we'd still be in the same situation, maybe not. I don't know. Things change after so many years." On Dec. 23 — the same day he posted a photo of her in a slideshow on Instagram — Us Weekly identified Joe's new girlfriend as Daniela Fittipaldi. They've reportedly "been together since the summer" and are "doing great." Now, things are starting to get serious: They celebrated Thanksgiving together with Joe's family in Italy, and Daniela "bonded really well" with two of Joe's daughters — Gia and Milania — when they visited their dad in November. During an interview with GLAAD that debuted on YouTube on Dec. 2, Braunwyn Windham-Burke officially came out as a lesbian and confirmed recent speculation that she's in a relationship with a woman. "I love her eyes. I love just staring into them. She has the sweetest disposition. She just listens. And she notices things about me. She pays attention. … I just like to be around her. At the time, she said that they were "redefining what marriage means" to them. She also claimed that they hadn't "gotten along this well in a long time." The Bravo star — who first prompted questions about the state of her marriage in late September — then gave the first indication that she was dating a woman: After telling "ET" that "there's no other men" in her life, she deflected when asked if there were any other women in her life. Just a few days later, she told Us Weekly that there was, in fact, "someone" new in the picture, though she noticeably used gender-neutral pronouns while describing her new companion. But the Utah-based entrepreneur denied that report to Page Six, saying of the breakup, "We lead very different lives and knew that when we met. Sometimes this happens. Meanwhile, the former "The Real Housewives of Orange County" star addressed the split on her Instagram Story, writing, "[Christian] and I decided to part ways in the most loving and healthy way. … I experienced a beautiful relationship that blossomed before it ended and I will always hold him in the highest regard and with the utmost respect." On Jan. 8, DailyMail.com published a bombshell report alleging that Denise Richards and Brandi Glanville have been at odds since late last year because the "Drinking and Tweeting" writer told their "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" co-stars that they had an affair during the first half of 2019. In the days that followed, there were conflicting reports about what exactly Brandi said, whether or not she and Denise really hooked up and what Denise told Brandi about the state of her marriage to Aaron Phypers. (According to one report, Denise told Brandi that she and Aaron have an open relationship.) In mid-February, Denise shot down the rumors, insisting to an Instagram follower that she and her hubby "actually don't have an open marriage" and that she's "100% monogamous" with him. But that did little to stop the buzz about her history with Brandi, who took to Twitter in June to share an old photo of herself smooching Denise. The following month, the drama finally unfolded on "RHOBH." On the July 22 episode, Brandi alleged that the "Starship Troopers" actress pursued her romantically and then after they hooked up, told her not to say anything to Aaron. "I would have never slept with Denise if I thought that Aaron was not OK with it," Brandi said. That same month, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, Denise and Aaron were "doing great" and "better than ever" in spite of the drama. Still, Brandi doubled down on her claims while Denise told The Washington Post that she "did not have an affair" and that if she "had an open marriage," she "would be open about it." During an interview with DailyMailTV that debuted online on Sept. 16, Brandi Glanville revealed that she and Denise Richards first hooked up much earlier than initially believed: in the bathroom at a restaurant in Malibu during a dinner arranged by their mutual agent in September 2018 — just 10 days after Denise and Aaron Phypers tied the knot. Here are some more of Brandi's wildest allegations: The first night they kissed, Denise told her, "Oh my God, I always wanted to [hook up with] you." When they hung out again two months later — this time with Aaron in tow — the newlyweds asked Brandi if she could help them "get other women to come into their marriage and into their bed." When Brandi met up with Denise in Northern California in April 2019, she ended up making out with Denise's co-star and ex Patrick Muldoon "to put off having to make out with Denise." Brandi was under the impression that "Aaron was 1 million percent aware" that she and Denise "made out the first night we met because we talked about it" in front of him. Meanwhile, on the March 9 episode of Danny Pellegrino's "Everything Iconic" podcast, Brandi Glanville dished on some of the famous men she's romanced over the years, including former "Friends" co-stars David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc. (She went on one date with Matt and then dated David for "a few months," she said.) She also "made out with one of the men in 'The Notebook,'" though she refused to specify if she was talking about James Marsden or Ryan Gosling … or one of their other co-stars. But that's not where Brandi's hit list ends: She and Ashley Hamilton dated when she first arrived in Los Angeles, and she dated Ben Stiller "for a little while," she said. She also addressed her headline-making hookup with Gerard Butler: "I was on 'Housewives,' but he did not know that and it really bothered him that I didn't tell him," she recalled.
In early October, Porsha Williams and her off-and-on fiancé, Dennis McKinley, both claimed on social media that they're no longer a couple. Around the same time, the rumor mill churned away with unsubstantiated reports that Porsha and "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" co-star Tanya Sam had a threesome with a male stripper at Cynthia Bailey's bachelorette party in Charleston, South Carolina … which they denied. (It's unclear if Porsha and Dennis were still together during the weekend getaway.) In early December, the reality star said she's single but not mingling: "I am not dating," she said, adding that she's "still very close" to her ex and that they're still "family" and planning to spend the holidays together with their daughter. Earlier this year, Dennis sparked speculation that he was stepping out on Porsha (again) when he was caught on camera grabbing a late-night bite with four young women at an Atlanta diner in the wee hours (4 a.m., to be exact!) of Jan. 4. "Dennis was the only man in the group and all of the women were flirting with him. … It was like he was on a date with all of them," a spy told Radar Online, adding that one of the women "had her head on his shoulder" and another was overheard saying that she met the restaurateur when he "slid into her DMs" on Instagram. On the Jan. 19 episode of "Watch What Happens Live," Porsha played coy when asked to comment on the infidelity drama, saying only that she and Dennis were "working on our relationship" and "figuring it out." She also asked fans to pray for them.
Kenya Moore began 2020 estranged from husband Marc Daly, but by early February, it appeared as though they'd reconciled: They were seen holding hands and laughing while walking through a Feb. 8 beauty convention in Atlanta. Nine days earlier, the reality star said that she and her hubby were "in a really good place" and that their relationship had "taken a turn." Then in mid-April, Kenya said that although she and Marc weren't quarantining together amid the coronavirus pandemic (she's in Atlanta while he's in New York City, where he has business commitments), they're still "together." She went on to explain that Marc wanted to work on their marriage and "be a better person." She also said that she and the restauranteur have been "getting along better" than they have since they first tied the knot. They were still in the same holding pattern by early December: separated but working on their relationship. "I was ready for my new life. … And now he's trying to fight for us to be back together and he wants his family back," Kenya said. (Also in early December, Kenya revealed that she once went out with Kanye West, though their night together turned out to be "a disaster.") In mid-December, she dropped another bombshell: Although she's never made moves to legally end her marriage, Marc "did file" for divorce once but withdrew his paperwork "less than 24 hours later." Meanwhile, fans of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" were treated to an inside look at what exactly caused Kenya and Marc to split last year: On the March 8 episode, Kenya revealed that she questioned Marc's fidelity when she caught him exchanging inappropriate text messages with an ex-girlfriend. She also revealed that she only announced they were breaking up after she heard from her publicist that Marc was planning to release a statement announcing their split. "He kind of forced my hand," she said. Then on the April 5 episode, she alleged that Marc didn't want her communicating with his parents during their marriage. (She later clarified that he simply doesn't have a relationship with them.) She added to a friend that Marc isn't "able to just have a conversation without yelling or anger or crossing lines." Said Kenya, "It's always been this block up with him not letting me completely into his life. It's just a lot of things I felt like I was in the dark about."
Page Six reported on Oct. 12 that, according to a source, Bethenny Frankel and her boyfriend of two years, Paul Bernon, "broke up a couple of weeks [ago]." The former star of "The Real Housewives of New York City" confirmed the news on the Oct. 23 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," saying that they "had a great, great relationship" but that "some things just don't continue." Something that does continue, however? Bethenny's marriage to Jason Hoppy. On the Sept. 24 episode of "Watch What Happens Live," she revealed that they're still legally married eight years after calling it quits in 2012.
"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Cynthia Bailey tied the knot with Mike Hill at the Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Georgia, on Oct. 10. Earlier in the year, she expressed her concerns that Mike — who popped the question back in July 2019 after about a year of dating — will eventually cheat on her. "I think I'm getting Mike at the best time in his life, right now," she said during a confessional. "But he has cheated on his wives before me. What makes me different?" Mike, meanwhile, addressed his past bad behavior during a party with some of the women in Cynthia's life: "We caught each other at the right time," he said of his relationship with the Bravo star. "Because if she would've met me three years ago, it was a different Mike. Two years ago, [I] was finding [myself] … [and] in the process." He went on to say that he's been open with his two daughters about his infidelity issues and apologized to their mothers for cheating on them. "Now, I'm just trying to do it the right way this time," he said. During a late-April interview with Us Weekly, Cynthia admitted that she and Mike "have been tested" while quarantining together amid the coronavirus pandemic, though she said that ultimately, the quarantine brought them "closer together."
"The Real Housewives of New York City" alum Jules Wainstein finalized her divorce from Michael Wainstein on Oct. 19 — four years after they first separated following eight years of marriage amid rumors he was unfaithful, which he denied. (In early November, TMZ revealed the terms of the divorce.)
Lesley Cook indicated on Instagram on Oct. 15 that she and "The Real Housewives of Orange County" alum David Beador — who was previously married to Shannon Beador — recently tied the knot. The duo, who are currently expecting a baby girl, got engaged in late January.
In "David Foster: Off the Record" — a documentary about the super-producer's life and career that debuted on Netflix in July — David Foster opened up about his 2015 split from fourth wife Yolanda Hadid amid her battle with Lyme disease. "How can I leave a sick woman?" he asked. "The fact of the matter is that was not the reason I left. It was for a different reason which I will never disclose that had nothing to do with her being sick." He then hinted that the model's gig on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" contributed to the issues in their marriage: "My wife at the time wanted to do the show. I didn't want to be the guy to say no," he explained.
On the Aug. 16 episode of the "Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef" podcast, Constantine Maroulis confirmed rumors that he's been involved with three different stars of "The Real Housewives of New York City" over the years. He and Tinsley Mortimer "legitimately went out many years ago" and "genuinely really care for each other and liked each other," though he didn't necessarily agree when she started calling him "her boyfriend" because he doesn't "like titles," he said. He and Luann de Lesseps "had a lot of chemistry," he said, but were ultimately "just friends" who "enjoyed each other's company." They didn't date "officially for an extended period of time," he insisted. In late October, Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin's daughter, model Amelia Gray Hamlin, started spending time with Scott Disick. The 37-year-old father of three and the teen beauty — who's appeared on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" off and on since 2014 — first sparked romance rumors when they attended a Halloween party together in Los Angeles. They further fueled romance rumors when they stepped out together in Montecito, California, the following week. Then in mid-November, they were snapped looking cozy on the beach in Santa Barbara, California — though an E! News source said despite how the frequent hangouts appear, they're keeping things between them "very casual." In late November, however, TMZ reported that Scott's former partner Kourtney Kardashian thinks his relationship with Amelia is good for him.
In other Housewives-spawn news… Jacqueline Laurita's daughter, "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" alum Ashlee Holmes, announced on Instagram on July 22 that she and her husband of two years, Pete Malleo, called it quits after a decade of coupledom and a son together.
On May 25, Page Six reported that NeNe Leakes has been having an affair with a Maryland-based USDA director named Rodney White since at least early 2019. According to one source, her husband, Gregg Leakes, is aware of the relationship and "is OK with it" because his missus "is taking care of him" financially. During a May 26 interview with Us Weekly, Kenya Moore confirmed that she and her castmates — as well as "Housewives" stars from other iterations of the Bravo franchise — "knew that [NeNe] was out with this man constantly being affectionate" and "knew what she was doing on the side." Said Kenya, "We certainly have had a lot of conversations about her and this man. They've been seeing each other for a very long time." Us Weekly added that according to a source, "It's an open secret [that] NeNe and Rodney spend time together … [and that she] goes to visit him in Maryland." The insider also made it clear that their relationship is "absolutely romantic." On June 1, NeNe took to Instagram to preview a new Atlanta-based business venture with Gregg — and to make light of the rumors about their relationship: After writing that their "bond is unbreakable," she said that they've "been working on something very special lately" — "not our marriage fool cause we both got side pieces," she wrote, adding "let us cheat in peace and mind your business please." NeNe Leakes spent most of March stoking speculation that she and her husband, Gregg Leakes, are in an open marriage. First, on the extremely revealing and wide-ranging March 9 episode of Angela Yee's sex-themed "Lip Service" podcast, the reality star said it's OK if her hubby cheats on her as long as she doesn't find out about it — and that even if she did find out about it, she wouldn't leave him. She then detailed an incident last summer when she caught Gregg carrying on an inappropriate relationship (via FaceTime and text) with a woman they hired to manage their clothing boutique in Maryland. On March 10, Page Six reported that it's actually NeNe who's been carrying on an inappropriate relationship with someone in Maryland: Rodney White. (They'd yet to fully break the story at that point.) The New York Post's gossip column reported at the time that the reality star told her employees that she and her husband are "actually separated." Meanwhile, a Page Six source described NeNe's relationship with Gregg as "a business relationship" and claimed that his infidelity gave her "something to talk about" for her storyline on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Then on an episode of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 12 After Show" that hit the Internet on March 16, she said that she and Gregg "have an understanding" and are "never gonna be apart" — even if they "may not be together." When a producer pressed her to say more about their "understanding," she said that if they did have an open relationship, she'd never publicly admit it. She also said that she's in love with her husband … but wouldn't tell anyone if she wasn't in love with him. NeNe finally shut down the open-marriage rumors during an early April interview with "Extra," saying that despite what people may think, she and Gregg are "doing a lot in the bedroom." She also noted that although she's a known flirt, she's "not sleeping with these men."
Wait, what?! On the May 20 episode of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," Garcelle Beauvais revealed that she once dated her "Wild Wild West" co-star Will Smith: "He was hot," she said. "He was a bachelor. I was single. You know, it happens in Hollywood." Ironically, she broke the news during a hangout with the A-list actor's ex-wife, Sheree Zampino.
A true anomaly in the marriage-cursed world of the "Real Housewives" franchise! Former "The Real Housewives of New York City" star Alex McCord took to Instagram on May 28 to mark her 20th wedding anniversary with husband Simon van Kempen.
During a June 3 interview with Us Weekly, Jill Zarin said that her late husband, Bobby Zarin, "probably would love" her boyfriend of two years, Gary Brody. "They would have been drinking tequila all night long," she added, noting that the two men actually met "a long time ago" because they ran "in the same circles" before Bobby's 2018 death.
During an interview with The Daily Dish that hit the Internet on May 25, former "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Yolanda Hadid said she's "very much in love" with her boyfriend of more than a year, Joseph Jingoli. "What has connected us is probably horses and the farm life. We live 10 miles apart, so it's kind of perfect," she added.

During a May 21 interview with Us Weekly, Brielle Biermann said that although she's still friendly with "a few" of her exes, her most widely known former love, Michael Kopech, "blocked" her from contacting him. The "Don't Be Tardy" star went on to say that she's "very single" right now. (The MLB pitcher, meanwhile, married "Riverdale" star Vanessa Morgan in January, though they split in June.) She tried looking for love on Bumble, she said, but the dating app deactivated her account because they assumed it was a fake.
During an April 2 interview with HollywoodLife, Vicki Gunvalson said that she and her fiancé, Steve Lodge, were indefinitely postponing their wedding amid the coronavirus pandemic. "We're doing nothing," she said of wedding planning. "I told him the wedding's off. … We were going to go get married in April and try to get as many of our six kids together and all of that. We're still going to get married. I'm just not in a big [rush] to get down the aisle right now." In late October, she slammed rumors that they'd called it quits, telling Us Weekly, "I have no fricking idea where this came from. Someone bored trying to stir [things] up … [We] are fine. … [We] live together and live a very private romantic life."
During an interview with E! News that hit the Internet on March 31, Tinsley Mortimer opened up about how the coronavirus pandemic has affected her plans to marry her fiancé, Scott Kluth: They were planning to tie the knot in Japan, which is now "completely off limits," she said, adding that they're "waiting to see what's going to happen with the world" before they start making new plans. "We have some really good ideas that we can sort of put [in place] once we know really officially when we're going to be able to travel again," she teased. She went on to say that she and Scott want a small, intimate out-of-town wedding. If they married in their hometowns of Chicago or New York City, they'd be forced to "make it very big," she said, noting that they might just say "I do" at a Chicago courthouse if they can't leave the city. "I just don't want this to be too overly complicated and stressful," said Tinsley, who's been married once before. "I had a big, huge wedding. … But this time, I really want to make this streamlined. … I'm older, you know, it's different. I mean, I still want to wear the big white dress. Like, that is not being taken away from me — I will wear a big huge white dress. But it's not going to be [a] big Southern wedding the way that I had before."
Garcelle Beauvais took to Instagram on Feb. 9 to announce that she and her boyfriend of a few months, Michael Elliot, called it quits. She shared a text meme reading, "Plot twist … I'm single," which she captioned with the hashtag "life happens." According to Us Weekly, she'd gushed about the writer-producer earlier that month, explaining that he'd agreed to appear on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" with her. "We'll see him a little bit. It's been really, really cool and really fun," she said at the time.
In early 2020, rumors were swirling that "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Dorit Kemsley and husband PK Kemsley's marriage was on the rocks. In February, PK actively denied the rumors that he's been living with friends in London, that his marriage "isn't doing well" and that he and Dorit are headed for divorce. He told Page Six that he was actually living in Australia while his client, Boy George, appeared on the Aussie version of "The Voice." He said reports of a split "couldn't be further from the truth." He and Dorit made sure to post Valentine's Day tributes to one another on Instagram in an attempt to squelch the rumors.
In February, "The Real Housewives of Orange County" star Gina Kirschenheiter and her boyfriend of just six months, Travis Mullen, moved in together. During an interview with People magazine, the mother of three said that following her painful divorce from Matt Kirschenheiter, she's in no rush to marry her new beau: "I'm enjoying having a partner in life so much that marriage doesn't really matter to me," she said, adding that "maybe one day" they'll tie the knot "but it's way too early now." In late October, Gina said that she and ex Matt are in a much better place these days. After he agreed to appear on "RHOC," she told Us Weekly, "I was very thankful that he [filmed], and I do owe a lot of that, I think, to his girlfriend."
