Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in mid-September 2020, starting with this happy news… In mid-July Halle Berry hinted there was a new man in her life when she posted a photo of her feet alongside a pair of male feet. On Sept. 17, she identified the owner of those feet, sharing a photo of herself wearing a Van Hunt T-shirt, which she captioned, "Now ya know." Tellingly, she added two emojis to her post: a simple heart emoji and a foot emoji. (Back on Aug. 30, the singer posted a photo of Halle pecking him on the cheek. "Kisses land softly," he captioned the selfie, which flew under the radar at the time.) On Sept. 23, People magazine reported that, according to a source, the pair have been dating for "several months" and their relationship "seems pretty serious." Said the insider, "They are spending a lot of time at Halle's Malibu house. She really seems to enjoy the quiet time. Van has met her kids." Added a second source, "[They] respect each other and have a great deal in common. Both are very successful and smart, and they seem to be in a mature relationship. It seems like a really good match. … Halle has been through a lot of stress in her past relationships but this one seems very positive. She is really happy." People magazine reported on Sept. 18 that, according to a source, Kim Kardashian West is "at the end of her rope — again" following Kanye West's recent troubling behavior on Twitter amid ongoing issues with his mental health. "He's off his meds," said the source. "He promised he'd stay on them. The last time, part of his negotiation with Kim was that he'd get back on his medication and he would work very hard to control his impulses. He made a lot of promises. And now those promises are broken, less than a month later." The insider added that the mother of four feels "like she can only take so much." Continued the source, "It's the same thing over and over and over again. He's on very thin ice with her right now, and she's truly trying to decide what to do to protect the kids, but also her own sanity. The whole thing is discouraging and difficult for her. … She wants to be a supportive partner, she's doing everything she can do to support him. But he has to support himself. He has to take care of his own health. She can't force-feed him medication. She can't make him do anything he doesn't want to do." The source went on to say that Kim "doesn't care one bit" about her husband's presidential run. "She wants the kids to be happy and to have a stable father. That's all she wants. And she'll do whatever she can do to have that happen. But she is not going to cater to his whims," said the insider. "For such a powerful woman, she feels very powerless, and she hates it. She loves Kanye very much, and he just doesn't realize how much pain he's causing her." Meanwhile, Page Six reported on Sept. 20 that, according to a source, "Kim has the whole divorce planned out, but she's waiting for [Kanye] to get through his latest episode." An Us Weekly source painted a slightly less dire picture of things: "Kim is considering her options when it comes to her future with Kanye," said the source. "She is stressed out … [and] hoping and waiting for this to pass." That said, the Us Weekly source echoed that she "does have divorce options planned out if it comes to that."

Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt nearly broke the Internet when they reunited on-screen for Dane Cook's Feelin' A-Live Stream virtual table read of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" on Sept. 17. Fans went wild for the former couple's friendly (and possibly flirty) behavior toward one another. But according to an Us Weekly source, there's nothing to see here: "[They] are on good terms and both agreed to play their respective roles and have fun with it," said the source. On Sept. 23, Us Weekly reported that the duo have a good sense of humor about the public interest in their relationship. "It used to bug them how everyone pulls for them to get back together, but now they laugh it off," said a second source. "The truth is they have each other's backs. They constantly bounce ideas off each other and share happy news when they have it. They have such a natural, easy energy together." However, "they don't want to milk this 'friendly exes' dynamic they've got going on too much," said the insider, noting that the A-listers are "both very mindful of that."
Back in May, Emma Stone prompted speculation that she'd secretly married her fiancé, Dave McCary, after pushing their planned March nuptials amid the coronavirus pandemic. On Sept. 23, Page Six reported that, according to a source, the couple did, in fact, marry earlier this year.
Cardi B took to Instagram Live on Sept. 18 to shed some light on her recent split from Offset. "I wanted to let y'all know I have not shed not one tear," she said. "You want to know why? The reason for my divorce is not because of none of that [stuff] that ever happened before. It's not because of cheating. I'm seeing people like, 'Oh, he has a baby on the way.' That's a whole complete lie. That's the second time people are trying to pin babies over here. No, that's [bull]. I just got tired of arguing. I got tired of not seeing things eye to eye. … Nothing crazy out of this world happened. Sometimes people really do grow apart. I been with this man for four years. I have a kid with this man. I have a household with this man. [I'm] tired of the arguments, of the buildup. You get tired sometimes. And before something bad happens, before you get left, before you get cheated on, sometimes you just wanna leave." Meanwhile, Page Six reported on Sept. 16 that an Offset-friendly source also denied the baby and affair rumors: "There is no other child. No baby is on the way. That rumor is super false," said the insider.
After Taraji P. Henson turned 50 on Sept. 11, fans started speculating that she and her fiancé, Kelvin Hayden, had quietly called it quits. The "Empire" actress spent the next two weeks chronicling her extravagant birthday festivities on Instagram. Noticeably absent from all of her posts? Kelvin … and her engagement ring. The former professional football player also failed to publicly acknowledge the birthday girl on her big day. In fact, he hasn't posted about Taraji on Instagram since Valentine's Day. The duo pushed their plans to tie the knot several times this year. In late March, Taraji said they were considering a July wedding.

The tweeter wrote directly to Lisa, asking, "You wanna talk about that @lisarinna??? Or do you want to talk about his affair with Patricia?" The tweeter wrote in a second now-viral tweet, "I don't have any receipts but it's legit. He told @lisarinna he's 'off the grid' for a few days and then literally spent an entire 2 days in my friend's bedroom and at her cottage. Patricia is a Muskoka w**** that everyone knows, Harry included." (Lisa and Harry have been known to spend summers in Muskoka.) On Sept. 18, the reality star took to Instagram to make light of the allegations about her husband, captioning an old photo of him, "Appreciation Post To my very busy Husband who apparently doesn't live with us, is having a lot of affairs, and is gay."
Us Weekly reported on Sept. 18 that, according to a source, Katie Holmes is "absolutely head over heels in love" with her new boyfriend, Emilio Vitolo. "She has wanted a stable guy in her life for a while and has found that with him," said the source. "She is happy she can be free and comfortable with her relationship with Emilio and doesn't need for it to be private, like her past relationship with Jamie Foxx was." According to a second Us Weekly source, "Katie has no ill will toward Jamie, but she has completely moved on from him and just thinks of Jamie in a friend type of way now." Meanwhile, Katie's daughter with ex-husband Tom Cruise, Suri Cruise, is said to approve of her mom's new romance.

"It was my first experience with being open to love and stuff like that," he said. "I definitely wasn't set up to believe that that's something that could ever exist." He also shared a story about a time when a hurricane threatened to cut short his time with his girlfriend: "It sounds crazy but we talked to this tree," he recalled. "I asked this tree, 'You gotta move this hurricane. I have to have one more day with this person. I can't leave early.' … I felt like the whole universe at that point could feel … that I was fighting for love. I woke up the next day and the hurricane was over."
During an interview with People magazine that hit the Internet on Sept. 23, Kristin Cavallari opened up about her divorce from Jay Cutler. "I always thought it was interesting when people would refer to us as 'couple goals.' I was like, 'If you guys only knew,'" she said, adding that she and the former professional football player "definitely kept a lot of stuff private," though producers on the set of their now-defunct reality show, "Very Cavallari," were aware of their issues. "Producers saw stuff, but they didn't put it in the show — which is good, because I don't want my kids to ever [see that]," said the mother of three. She went on to say that her split from Jay "didn't happen overnight." Explained the reality star, "We tried really, really hard for years and years. It was the hardest decision I've ever made. … I still care so much about him and talk to him almost every day. We have three kids together. He's going to be in my life forever." As for what went wrong, "Every relationship has their stuff. I met Jay when I was 23. I was a baby. Jay and I had so much love for each other, but we grew up," said the jewelry designer, who's now 33. "When you work at something for so many years and nothing's changing, I think you have to just make a decision. We all want to be happy. … I'm proud for making this decision. It wore at me every single day for years. I feel like my whole world is opening up now because of it, and I'm just feeling the best I've felt in a really long time. I'm really excited about the future all around." Later, Kristin told "Entertainment Tonight" that she thought about ending their marriage "every single day for over two years." It's shaped like a crab. … And it's an opal, not a diamond," she said. "It is not a crab opal engagement ring. It is just a ring." The supermodel, who wasn't wearing the ring during the interview, stopped short of denying that she and her boyfriend, Louis Bélanger-Martin, are engaged, though she called rumors about her relationship status both "funny" and "annoying." Said the second insider, "They do miss each other, but at the end of the day, Sofia is a family girl and knowing her sister [Nicole Richie] and dad [Lionel Richie] haven't approved of [Scott] from the beginning has been a big thing for her. … Sofia's family think she is way better off without him. They have been advising her to do her own thing, especially during the quarantine. … She has been separating herself from the equation and it has been the healthy thing for her and her family."

On the Sept. 21 episode of Andy Cohen's SiriusXM show, Jim Edmonds denied ex-wife Meghan King's allegations that they had a threesome with his current girlfriend, Kortnie O'Connor, while they were still married. "That was a joke. I don't even know how she comes up with this stuff," he said. "To be honest with you, I mean, if we really want to go down that road, she was the one that was pushing for [threesomes]. And I was like, 'This is completely ridiculous.' And she just made up these stories." Added the former professional football player of his ex, "I'm just glad that I'm out of it and I'm happy and everything's going good and I've turned my life around." Jim also dished on his "sexting scandal," which he described as "a big blackmail scheme" orchestrated by the notorious "baseball madam," whom he accused of catfishing him. The father of seven admitted that he "sent a picture that was inappropriate in the middle of some low times" during his marriage with Meghan. "My marriage was pretty much over … and I just got in a weak spot. I wasn't having 'a sexting affair,'" he claimed. "It was my fault — shouldn't have sent the picture. But I made a mistake and I live by it. And that's not the reason for the marriage falling apart at all."

I'm so blessed to have her in my life." Chimed in the 19-year-old brunette, "[Our] families have known each other for over 20 years — so before either he or I were even born — and then we got connected last year. … I'm really looking forward to the memories to come spent with him. … I'm excited to see what the Lord holds for us in the near future." Jodie Turner-Smith couldn't stop gushing about her husband, Joshua Jackson, during an interview with Porter that hit the Internet on Sept. 20: "I'm really in love with my husband. That might be weird for people, but I'm doing a pretty good job of not shouting that from the rooftops as much as I would like to," she said. "He's a really amazing dude. Today's actually our two-year anniversary. It's only gotten better and I feel so grateful for that. That's why I share it sometimes, because I love him, I think he's hot, I think he's smart and he's incredibly talented. I feel so lucky to be in a relationship with somebody who feels the same about me, who is not shy about telling me that or uplifting me." She added that she "would love to work with him on stage" sometime. "I'm excited for what else he's going to do in his career," she continued. "This is kind of a new wave for him. On the Sept. 24 episode of "The Oprah Conversation," Mariah Carey opened up about how her relationship with Derek Jeter helped her move on from her toxic first marriage with Tommy Mottola. "He got his own song. He got a few songs," she said of the baseball star. "He was a catalyst that helped me get out of that relationship because I believed that there was somebody else… I've written songs about it, and honestly, I don't think it was like, 'Oh my gosh, he was the love of my life!' At the time I did. I didn't think I would ever meet anybody who wouldn't … feel superior to me because of the fact that I'm not one way or another." She went on to say that she and Derek connected over being biracial. She also said that spending time with his "healthy family" changed her perspective on her own family's dynamic. "It was healthy for me to see a functional family that basically kind of looked like mine but didn't feel like mine," she said. "And he was also living his dream job and doing his dream job and stuff. I believe we connected in that way."
On the Sept. 16 episode of her eponymous talk show, Drew Barrymore said she's been "swearing off men" for "the last five years." She went on to say that although she's "not closed for business," she hasn't "been exactly in that mentality" to date. "[I've been] thinking I just don't have the bandwidth. I don't know if I'm willing to open [up]. I just can't fit [dating] in," said the mother of two. Earlier this month, the thrice-married actress made it clear that while she's open to possibly dating in the future, she'll never marry again.
Another famous actress who hasn't dated in five years? Charlize Theron. On the Sept. 17 episode of Drew Barrymore's talk show, the South African superstar said that she's "been on a few dates" but hasn't "dated anybody for over five years." Said the Oscar winner, "I'm open when friends of mine are like, 'You should go on a date! You should meet this guy.' But I feel like I'm in a place in my life where you've gotta come with a lot of game. … The kind of game that's like, 'My life is really good, so you better be able to bring that and maybe better.' Because I just won't accept anything less." The Oscar winner went on to say that she doesn't "feel lonely" with two kids at home. "Once I had my children, it's not that [parenthood] replaces something or makes you less interested in [dating]. … It's a lot of work to be a parent, and part of that is at the end of the day, I get in bed and I go, 'Oh my God, I wouldn't want this day to be anything different.'"
